I've been asked to teach a night adult class on how to trouble shoot problems with smart phones. So, please help me come up with some ideas for a syllabus. Thanks =)

No matter what you have, iPhone, Android, or Windows,

What are some problems you've had with your phone?

What are some things you wished you knew about your phone?

What are some things you would like to learn to do with your phone?

Anything else?

No smart phone, so no problem.
Walmart cheappo works for me.
 
Looked into the "smart phone" things once. Found out they were smarter than me.........except I KNEW HOW to disconnect their battery!

Not so SMART after all are ya wee phone? Huh?

my favorite ginger gal :), i'd love to know why my Galaxy chooses to mute the ringer volume, no matter how many times i re-set it. :/

(as p_r said, it is smarter than i am, apparently ;))

How to use it without reading the directions just to turn it on.

It has a camera. How to use that.

Sorry. I have a phone 'cuz hubby was worried about me without one. Now that I've had enough true emergencies, I still see no purpose in having one. And I would still need to read the directions to turn it on.
 
I can't figure out how to get my pictures from my tracfone to my computer. And I'm too impatient to try. :( lol
 
Android is great but the battery drains fast. I now installed an app that shuts the other apps off if they're not used and I have an extra thing for in the train but that's also empty quite quick.
 
My smart phone flatly refuses to do my dishes, ironing, or laundry. So much for it being smart.

Seriously, I have a new iPhone, and I like it. I do wish the text function would learn my speech patterns a little so that it suggested the words I use more consistently. However, that is probably not an issue which can be corrected by adjusting a setting.

Apps that arnt actively used get suspended into a form of sleep mode. Your better off keeping them in memory rather than having to reload the data all over again when starting an app..you drain more battery that way.

Via USB (plugged into phone->computer, come up on computer as storage device), bluetooth (to another device that has bluetooth) or via wifi (on network) through browser on comp...

How long battery lasts is not due (mainly) to operating system but the ability of the battery to store power (along with the phone hardware specs), ie it's "mAh"...
