Yep ,my feet r so painful , arthritis etc , the knock off crocs with the really thick soles r like walking on clouds for me and I literally cannot walk in anything else for any length of time , I can honestly say they have given me my life back . Obviously , I bought a lot of them , hope I bought enough to last me the rest of my life

Hey Everyone,
I enjoy keeping up on some elements of pop culture because it gives me a stepping stone to have conversations with my friends' kids, younger co-workers, etc. about the latest trends.
In a few of the financial Discords I sit in on, the Crocs shoe company was once a hot topic among the investment community. Some of the younger investors felt very enthused about its future prospects.
I realize Crocs have had their moment, but I personally don't know how far a company can go with a flagship product that's so easy to copy -- but that's just me.
I though it would be fun to see what our intrepid CC community thinks of these convenient, albeit, not exactly stylish, rubber shoes.
* What do YOU think of Crocs? Are they a yay or a nay?
* Have you found them to be durable? How often, if ever, have you had to replace them?
* Would you specifically look for the Crocs brand, or is any old knockoff good enough?
* Have you or your kids ever get into collecting those little, what do they call them, giblet accessories? (According the Google, the official name appears to be "Jibbitz.")

I have to admit those Pac-Man ones are adorable (I'm a sucker for 80's nostalgia,) but I'd rather have charms I could put on my backpack rather than on a pair of rubber shoes.
I have one pair of knockoff Crocs for when I step outside for brief outdoor chores. I like that they're so easy to slip on and off, and they don't go between the toes (I can't stand anything between my toes!)
I keep a clean pair of footwear to wear indoors, but when those wear out, I just might pick up a new "indoors only" pair of Crocs.

My sister was a big fan of the Crocs. I tried them on and hubby asked what they felt like. I said " if you cut out two milk jugs and put them on your feet, you have Crocs." Well, my sister started having issues with her feet and went to the doc and he asked what she was wearing. He said Crocs were the worst thing you could wear on your feet. She had to toss hers and hasn't worn them since.
It is interesting to the point of verging on fascinating how one thing works for one person and completely fails for another... Now if I was going to buy a lifetime supply of crocs they would all be various shades of purple LOL. I once bought a pair of really lovely sort of dress shoes that had a wedge heel, and after wearing them even the 1st day, one of my heels started feeling a little bit off, but I was stubbornly determined to wear these shoes which I did for 3 days, and at the end of 3 days my heel was so damaged it took months to recover. @seoulsearch has mentioned not being able to wear arch supports but I cannot go without them... And if I do my feet really start to suffer after a while. One time I was wearing these slip on sockless shoes for quite a while, and then suddenly they started causing me an issue... I think it was because. they had no arch support. I remember one time... and this was while I was attending a Bible study a few blocks away from where I lived so I would walk over there... when I God there ( Ha ha interesting typo > going to leave that one... I'm on my phone so...) I was complaining about my foot being sore so they asked me to remove my sock so they could inspect my foot, and my foot was all red and it was actually hot and the bone in the middle of my upper foot was protruding somewhat
I mean that sounds really gross and it was quite painful it's no wonder I could even walk home... But it all cleared up when I stopped wearing those particular shoes, And it was probably after that I made sure I always had arch supports in the shoes I wore. I may need a podiatrist someday LOL
I could sport even a pair of clown shoes and propel them into a fashion craze, but I've yet to, willingly, purchase a pair a Crocs, although my daughter highly recommends them. However, if I had to, I take the ones styled after the Mary Jane shoes. And I'm not sure I'd wear them without socks. Maybe inside for a bit, but it wouldn't be long I'd be looking for a pair of socks to go with them, especially outside. With all those holes, a worm could have too easy access to crawl onto my foot.

It’s true—Crocs can do a number on your feet. A few years back, I was in the garden, when what I thought was a minor sprained ankle turned out to be plantar fasciitis. Lesson learned: new Crocs every year. Worn with socks becuase dirt calls for options like a true fashion rebel.
I broke a bone in my right foot once, the fifth metatarsal which is the bone running along the outer edge of
the foot coming down from the little toe... anyways, after that, my doctor advised me not to wear flip flops,
because they had no arch support, but did I listen to her? Uuuuhhhhhh, noooooo! Flip flops were very comfy
and convenient, so I did not give them up until other issues became prevalent and not so easy to ignore .
I normally don't notice a person's shoes. If you notice mine, what are you doing looking at my feet? My eyes are up here.

I have worn toe shoes before it. Not for the toes, but because they were zero drop. At one point I had six or so pairs of toe shoes, including brown leather and black leather ones for dress shoes.

I have had some in the past. I had a pair of the normal-looking pink crocs that i just wore around the house as slippers. But I also had a pair of black crocs flats that were SO comfortable and i wore them to work/out and about.
Crocs are useful, when going to the nextdoor neighbours house or taking my dog out in a morning etc, so easy to slip on and off. Fake ones of course, I would not pay much for something like that.. My friend has croc wellies, those are ones I might pay for if I would find a pair, they seem durable for the forest trips.
However, about the crocs, I am never again wearing them when painting a house and staying up for 24 hours, climbing ladder (not high, of course).. Started on Thursday and finished on Friday wearing crocs all the time (went to the workplace for the night in between, for 8 hours and wore protective footwear, I don't like those..), but I didn't walk for the whole weekend after that, I crawled. Soles of my feet were so much in pain, that I'll know better not to use crocs for anything else than quick trip outside (well, mowing the lawn too, but that's a sitting job so..). I even went to the workplace doctor on Monday to get couple of days off, 'cause I didn't walk properly then either.
I don't know if part of the reason was that those were super old crocs (are fake crocs called frocs?), so they gave nothing good to my feet.
So crocs are not aesthetic to me, just easy to use, at home setting. I usually try to find barefoot shoes for everything, I like the wide toe box, which is a good thing that crocs have too.
