If you don't and aren't fulfilling pisteuo, the Lord and God cannot be yours to love.

The way to love God is by embodying His character traits in obedience to His commands, which is also the way to believe in Him.

Growth imo doesn't come from reading scriptures, it comes from a better surrendered life. A continually surrendered life is our business, all the rest is His.

As a result of Him accepting the surrendered life, more of Him and less of us reflects the scriptures in our surrendered life like a mirror. The scriptures were being reflected in the lives of the early saints before there was much of a written word.

In this time of my life I'm blessed to spend 3 or 4 hours a day in His word. But that doesn't change the before mentioned truth.
Without the fulfillment of pisteuo "a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender " first and continually, I would just be trying to learn something that can't be learned.

I don't recognize that path to receiving His Spirit.
The word believe is a mistranslation.

But doesn't that blessing, that strength, that information come from the indwelling spirit first? The indwelling spirit only comes from a continually surrendered life, fulfilling pisteuo? The reading and meditation in that state of being would be an added blessing, amen?

For example, goodness is one of the fruits of the Spirit, the Law of God was given in order to teach us how to embody that trait, and by embodying that we are expressing the belief that God is good and we are embodying our love for God's goodness.

You would do well to stop using the word "embody" or any form thereof... at least for a week or three.
 
Love is it.
In the song "No Greater Love", the chorus says,
"No greater love than this, that You would lay down Your life,
For someone such as me, I'd spend a lifetime wondering why,
The Beauty of Heaven is here in my heart,
And I know there can be no greater Love .....than this."
 
Again love, for the love of Christ controls us.
2 Corinthians 5:14, 15
NASB 14For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 15and He died for all, so that those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose on their behalf.
ESV 14For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.

It's Christ's love that drives us to love others.

But without fulfilling pisteuo first, "a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender ", and that surrendered life is accepted by Him, the love you speak about cannot be ours.

Agreed, but the context of this thread is "what is the most important word for us in the scriptures ".

Faith and faithing, pistis and pisteuo, or a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender, must come first. And as the result of a legitimate surrender, that love is an inevitable accompaniment of that correct life of faith.

This can't happen the other way around with love first is the point I'm trying to communicate.

The word "if" doesn't hold any power over other words in Scripture.

Way to often when someone enters a church, their handed a Bible and told to accept Jesus and everything in that Bible is yours. Thats not true.

Only when someone, a called out one responds to the call of the Father with pisteuo, a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender, does that Bible become theirs.

No other word in the Bible holds that kind of power over all the other words in scripture.

Imagine the Bible and everything in it as being a house with a locked door in front. To get in that house, the key to open the door is only one thing, one word, pisteuo used 248 times in the NT.

Once that key is inserted and turned by a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender, it allows God the Father to either accept or deny the surrendered life. If accepted, the door opens and we take steps into that house, each step being a better surrender to Him. At this point we are positioned correctly to receive the Spirit of Christ and become His.

No ther word can facilitate this process, only pisteuo or a continually surrendered life.

If anyone is attempting to open the door in any other way than a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender, you'll simply be standing at the door while God waits for the correct key to be used.
