What Kind of Husband Do You Want?

What kind of husband do you want and why, or do you even want a husband and are content in being single?

What would his character traits be?

Do you have a set of non-negotiables?

Are you praying for him and has God given you any insight about him or who he is?

Bonus one for our sisters who are or was once married; what was it like meeting your spouse? Did he meet all your standards and vice verca? What did you discover about yourself during the process?

Man of God, who isn't real political or love conspiracy theories and really negative, suspicious, arrogant, and judgy ewwww, no ty...and not combative or argumentative.

Loyal, honest, funny but not overly sarcastic, (want to laugh with him often), kind and patient, good communicator, and emotionally available. He smiles a lot, I'd like him to take care of himself and others. He doesnt need to be wealthy but be financially independent (I am and don't want to be a sugar Mama, lol). I'd love him and I to be best friends who really, really enjoy our time together.


No, I am not praying for him because I am content with my current single status. The liklihood of me meeting a fella with my musts and must nots (fully aware it is a lot and prob unrealistic, lol) is uber unlikely. I know that, especially at my ripe age. I am just happy being single, most of the time, so why settle or yearn?

I have to tell you....I have heard some excellent sermons regarding these passages of late. It certainly can be said that a lot of what we call conspiracy theories are basically a waste of time as far as the Church is concerned. Not that they are not based in fact. Many of these theories are demonstrably grounded in reality.

On the other hand, we must be vigilant in the wiles of the devil. Actually I have facilitated the overt occult manifestations in mass media and social structures in my own preaching on occasion. I am not really sure if this is appropriate quite frankly.

For example....much of the content/analysis of this website is spot on.

What I think Paul is saying is that Pastors and teachers should not place emphasis on such matters, nor preach them alongside the true gospel.

I think if you watch too much mass media- tv (advertising) then off course you are going to be exposed to a lot of people wanting to make a buck off your gullible viewing eyes.

so when someone says stop watching TV some people cant seem to find the OFF switch and think people force them to watch stuff they dont want to see. Well no, actually you CHOOSE to sit and stare at the tv screen, you choose to login to social media every day, or not bother to log out.

Now that is a cogent, insightful point that I have not heard a lot of people mention. We complain a lot about TV shows, but you very rarely hear anybody bring this point up.

I like how you mentioned man of God first, followed by loyal, honest and funny - the exact traits that I would want… whether that will happen is God’s plan

Like most of us singles, I am too content with being single for now, although I do have the desire to settle down one day with someone.

Do I have a set of non-negotiables? Maybe, I don’t know - I think the ultimate deal breaker was if he was a physcho or something lol I think also, someone who understands my culture and is accepting of it would mean alot.

Also a family man - I grew up with lots of family around me and so having someone even understand family dynamics ticks the box.

Ultimately God knows my heart and I have to trust in His Ways. For now, I enjoy not having the commitment and being independent. I also like not having to share my icecream

I don't think much of what kind of husband I want because I trust the Lord in this area of my life. He knows what's best for me ànd I believe, HE is leading me slowly but surely to that person HE wants me to have for the rest of my life

I am ready to date ,but not looking if that makes sense. For now would love someone to go out to dinner with or movies etc. Thing is most want more than what they are going to get for price of admission to a movie. I have turned down some because felt God saying no. Especially someone who wants to keep touching me and I don't really know you. Hugs, hand on my shoulder etc. Maybe it is just me but a little creepy and fast. Friends first ,think that is what is missing in most people's relationships.
