Although I get accused of having a stripper name... I'll stick to mine. It's not one I know many others with.
Ive always disliked my name. When I was a kid I wanted to go by my middle name.
If I could change it now, Id probly go by the name Jess. Or something like that.
As for kids, I always come up with different names for them, all the time
Lately Im big into the name Courtney. If I ever have a girl, Im gonna push for that name : p

Same here. Both My grandfather and grandmother are descendants from Spanish Royalty that I hold dearly. Not that I see my self as a king or anything it is just nice to know you have some noble family in the past. My grandfather actually has the coat of arms for my family's last name from Spain.

Jimenez via marriage into the Plantagenet line. Don't get too excited. My English side of the family quickly fell down the social tubes after the War of the Roses. They ultimately became humble Baptist farmers around the Great Lakes and the nicer portions of Appalachia.

I used to hate my name. Nobody can ever spell it- Cristen. I get Cristin, Christen, Christy, Christian, Christa, Kristen, Keirsten, Kirsten...
I'm fine with it now. I don't care how many ways people misspell it anymore, I have bigger fish to fry since I got married and nobody can spell my last name (which is dumb, it's five letters, easy peasy. But no. I tell them my last name, they use creative spelling, and BOOM, I get mail addressed to Kirsten Zaps).
I like the name Emma. If me and my name hadn't been together for so long, I'd consider dumping it for Emma.
Kid names? I got those...

AWESOME!!! Here we go: Both my family crests, and bloodline, are from the House of Castile of Spain. Carrillos were Bishops, and Ronquillos were noble Knights. Our Family married into the English royal bloodline when Eleanor of Castile Married Edward I in 1254 A.D.. Every English Monarch descendant after has been our bloodline in them. Queen Elizabeth II of England today's blood line can be traced back to ours.
Family history is awesome. I always get super interested when I was reading C.S.Lewis Chronicles of Naria when it came to knights and nobles because I would think about my ancestors and imagine myself as a knight.

To me, choosing your favorite accent is like choosing your favorite ice cream. There is something about the richness in annunciation that Welsh accent has that makes it the koolest. I have only heard one Welshman speak, but it was enough to compare my attention. It was actually a man that came on video chat on this website once. He was preaching and I was in awe at the uniqueness of his accent.

I hated my name when I grew up. I was the only one in our village. It was another one in the neighboring village. She was 10 years older than me. I wanted a simple name like Anne or Hege or a biblical name like Ruth or Maria.
Now my name is fairly common among those 15 years or younger than me and I have kind of got used to it.
If I had a daughter I dreamt of it would be Aurora. That is the most beautiful name I can think of.

As for family names, I have changed them. I had Kjustad as my middle name when I grew up from my mother's side. I kept it when I got married. When we divorced I only kept the middle name. I like to keep it short and easy. I didn't think the kj-sound would be impossible for you English speaking lot.

Yeah, I've recently re-converted too. But since I have arrived by way of the Presbyterian church, I am more Reformed than he.

He knows. I spun it as a hostile conquest rather than a conversion. I found Baptism brick and made it marble.
In my latest move I realized I have not regularly attended a Presby Church in 3 years. That and I've never found the paedobaptist/thoroughgoing covanentalist/Presbyterian church governance points convincing. What I love is the Presby liturgy. From the Gloria Patri to the Song of Simeon.
But I also found out that was pretty much exclusive to one Presby congregation.
So the exception proves the rule.
Either way. I look and quack like a Reformed Baptist. Time to admit the truth.
