Thank you, Nod. I'm so very sorry for your losses as well. I have lost my parents, grandparents, a sibling and even an unborn child...but having someone who has been the other half of you for many years torn from you is indescribable, isn't it?

In recent weeks we have seen people injure single moms, unwed moms, older christians, non-virgins, those who've been sexually abused, those who have lost their families to divorce and so many other horrible situations in these forums with their careless words, all of which I would like to believe were also not intentional. There are times when I have read such things and have actually physically felt my stomach turn. When that happens, I tell myself that I'm never coming back here. And then I receive awesome emails from loving friends here thanking me for my threads, posts, prayers, encouragement, support, defenses, etc....and it truly blesses me. I so often feel out of place here and wonder why God wants me to be here, but for whatever reason, He does.

I've been praying for all of us all day today. If anything here causes someone to stop and consider the impact of their words at some point, it will be the good that comes from this, as we know God can bring good and growth from all things.

I completely agree! Some people are very careless with their words and dont realize the impact it could have on some one else. I am guilty of this to however, so i can learn from this also

This place isn't any different from all the other forums I've belonged to over the years. You know how the bible says that you suffer no temptation that is not uncommon to man? (Corinthians 13, I think) Well, believe it or not we suffer no problems in these forums that are not uncommon to publc forums in general. Whenever there's a public forum, there are the good, the bad and the ugly (ummm...no offense, Ugly!! :)). What each of us has to do is understand that there will always be disturbing elements in here and we can either ignore them or confront them. Its our choice. Sometimes, the choice is not so easy like if you see someone post something rude or judgemental in reference to someone you care about.

There will always be arguments arising and heated tempers and butting heads. It all just comes with the territory. I found that letting things go (ignoring them) for the most part works for me, although sometimes I can't ignore something and even though I try to be as diplomatic and fair as possible, I somehow end up looking like the bad guy to some people. A popular preacher oftens says that at least 10% of the people will simply not like you no matter who you are or how hard you try. Its true, so we have to manage how we deal with them and not just fight every battle that we see or we will hit our limits and blow a fuse or leave as so many members have already done.
 
Today I got a Forever Lazy. A week earlier me and a few people were making fun of them. I think I jinxed myself. But I also got books. As long as I get books and cook books I'll be happy and content, I'll stick the forever lazy and disc man(I have an Ipod) into storage and use them for white elephant gifts or save them for people who would actually use them. :)
 
I was making fun of those forever lazy things, but deep down I wanted one for myself haha
 
Along with the ton of chocolate my mom got me a toothbrush, which is nice, but I already had 3 brand new ones in my bathroom cabinet

My floors need scrubbing. Maybe Seeking could volunteer... and bring his extra toothbrushes for the detailing :D.

Dr Pepper, when I was trying to stop my addiction to Dr. Pepper. Kim, I think someone was trying to tell you and I something about our addictions.
 
Why would either of you want to break a Dr Pepper addiction??

It's the third best thing to drink on earth.
 
The least useful gift I ever got for Christmas was a tie and socks. You've gotta love grandparents and all, but why do they always buy ties and socks? I could have started a collection as a kid.
