I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar that much is true
teng teng tededeng
don't know the whole text
but it keeps denging in my head
don't you want me baby

I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar that much is true
teng teng tededeng
don't know the whole text
but it keeps denging in my head
don't you want me baby

I like that song. The guy tells his side and she tells her's. I've been hearing that on the radio a lot lately. I happen to be listening to my ipod and "When the Levee Breaks" by Zeppelin is playing.

You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar, when I met you.
I picked you out, I shook you up
And turned you around, turned you into someone new.

Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet.
Success has been so easy for you.
But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now,
And I can put you back there too.

Don't, don't you want me?
You know I can't believe it
When I hear that you won't see me.
Don't, don't you want me?
You know I don't believe you
When you say that you don't need me.
It's much to late to find
When you think you've changed your mind.
You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry.
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?

I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar,
That much is true.
But even then I knew I'd find a much better place
Either with or without you.

The five years we have had have been such good times,
I still love you.
But now I think it's time I live my life on my own.
I guess it's just what I must do.

Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?
Don't you want me, baby?
Don't you want me, oh?
Don't you want me, baby?

Baby you're so sweet
baby you're a treat
You're as sweat as ice cream pie
and if you were mine I'd be so happy I'd die
So please don't come near
Can't you see I fear
that you might cause my death
at the very least you'd be sure to take my breath
please don't please don't stop my heart
please don't tear me apart
baby you're so sweet, baby you're a treat
it's a shame I've gotta say
please stay away

It's not a Christian song, but the OP does ask what song is going through one's head. This tragedy began while watching a favorite British detective show, set in the 1960's, and the coolest song was playing in this scene of some Bohemian party. I jotted down some of the lyrics and searched out the song. It's this band called The Electric Prunes, which, well, I can't resolve to anything sane.

So this was a recent foray into the creaky, dusty closet of the past. The sound effects are ingenious, what could only be called fuzzus maximus, but it fits, is finely tuned to a dreamy, ethereal effect, even a melody of some tight creative complexity, great instrumental harmonies. I've listened to it too many times to be healthy, set it to loop the other day through real speakers, while doing some equally mindless things. It's impressive at volume. Probably brain damaged now, but no worries anybody would ever notice, except maybe, "You seem back to normal!"

I have reason to believe this might be what my thought process sounds like.

I love this sleepy, flowing music. You can totally get lost in the sound. I love music that focuses more on a flowing melody over lyrics and singing.
