I had to drive in it last weekend, that was a little rough.
The only good thing for me is the ski hills are great, just getting there that is the problem.
I'm right in the center of the country, Oklahoma. I was awake all night. At sometime between 3 and 4am, I heard ice hitting the roof. It kinda sounded like hail. Then it went quiet, then after a while it started snowing and the snow increased. I couldn't see much on my cams doing to the snow blowing. I think it had stopped snowing at daylight. Thankfully, I haven't had to get outside today except to check the mail. The schools in this area are closed today and tomorrow. I haven't heard any traffic.

Heading for 36 C today. That's not unusual this time of year. Some places in Aus. have hit 50 C. We are expecting heavy rain this evening. The rest of the week will be low 20's. There is nothing but ocean between where I live and Antarctica. If the wind turns south, we get seriously cold even in summer. It may snow in the high country. Nowhere is Australia is above the permanent snow line. You gotta love it.
We reached 49 today. It was clear and all the snow was gone. This evening, it's snowing again. I see snow blowing this way and that on my cams. Tuesday will see more snow. We have negative temps this week.
I thought you were kidding about the mittens. I have learned that I don't know a thing about sewing thick wool.
The feed dogs on my machine are useless for this material and I have to learn a new skill, freestyle feeding. The thumbs are wonky and the finger covers twisted sideways, but other than that they are functional.
Sorry my enthusiasm exceeds my ability right now.
