I'm pretty sure that was the work of the devil. 👿
The devil wanted us to go play pinball?

But... But... Rod is a good, staunch Christian and he's the one who wanted to play pinball. He CAN'T be doing the devil's work! :p

You mean Dollar And A Quarter Tree.

cinder insists Dollar And A Half Tree is easier to say, and it will soon be at a dollar and a half anyway. I will stick with what is strictly accurate at this time.
Yep, they haven't changed the name yet. Guess we could argue we should still only be paying a dollar. I've tried to cut back, don't want to give China my support. They also have Dollar Plus stores, so I don't know why they had to change to 1.25 in regular stores. Now I have to check because many things are now cheaper somewhere else.

Wow I'm feeling like I was at a different meetup. I missed half those conversations in favor of hiking and questing and going to shows and 1 and a half escape rooms. What I can say is we learned that when introverts go on vacation together they pretty much just want to sit around (or in my case wander around) and do their own thing at their own pace. And yes the boys kept the carnivores and sugar addicts well supplied throughout the week and we had a terrific group of people and lots of delicious food.

Also hiking pictures:

And questing pictures ( think an indoor laser tag or paintball type of place setup to run like a real life go find these objects and bring them to such a character to get a reward type of video game):

3 Things to Know About... Part 2:

Cinder:

1. Cinder one of the most brilliant human beings you will ever meet. If you ever need to find a life-saving mad scientist serum locked behind 20 different brain-melting puzzles, Cinder is going to be the one to find it. I had never been to an escape room before, but just watching her do her thing was more than worth the price of admission. :D

2. It is truly dangerous when she and I get together. We can find offbeat, 6th grade humor in ANYTHING, and at one point we were laughing so hard that we'd pretty much stopped breathing (Lynx said all he heard was loud wheezing, and promptly came to check up on us.)

3. She has enough energy and adventure for 5 people. Everyday was a new itinerary for her (including massive hikes up mountains) and I wish I had just a fraction of her ambitions. And one of my favorite conversations with her is about the differences she's seen in how Christianity is interpreted in different countries all over the world when she served for 10 years of overseas missions. Talk about making me feel like a pew-warming slacker...
Just to clarify some things:

1) Depends on who you meet in life, but yeah I guess I'm guilty as charged here. Let's just say we enjoyed the escape room so much that Cinder, later in the week when she was checking out a game store, bought a play at home escape game simulator (way cheaper and people tended to not want to go out much during the meetup) and got one of the easier ones (after inadvertently picking the toughest escape room at the escape room place). At the end of it she was saying something about it seemed a bit too easy, while the others were saying that seemed about right for difficulty.

2) It's dangerous to share a small bed with Seoul as well. After making you laugh yourself insensible, she'll accuse a sleepy you of trying to suffocate her all week just because one of your pillows crossed over to her side of the bed near her face. This may or may not lead to a discussion of strangling people compared to other methods of murder though no one was plotting murder at the meetup.

3) Really I'm just so used to doing things by myself as a single that I don't handle group activities (or lack of activities with this group, but they all needed a break from their usual stressful lives) very patiently. My day long itineraries usually only lasted from about 12 - 6 or less so more like afternoon activities and I don't think any hiking was over 5 miles in a day. And it was off and on over a period of 10 years that I was doing missions stuff. Actual time spent living in other countries is more like 5 years total mostly in bursts of 6 months to a year in one place.

And last but not least. I learned that when CCers get together; they spend a lot of time checking CC and discussing and posting on the threads there (unless they're me who just can be bothered because the weather is nice and there's mountains to hike and real live people I might get to play some games with me).

This isn't the first time that Cinder and I have been roomies and have had to share furniture. Therefore, we have this running joke that there is an invisible electric fence running down the middle of the bed, and neither one of us is ever allowed to cross over it or ZZZAP!!!

So just imagine my extreme anxiety when I woke up to find that not only had a rather large pillow crossed over that invisible borderline, but Cinder's arm was also still wrapped tightly around it. As in, her hand was still clutching that enormously large, fluffy pillow, and it was mere inches from my face.

In other words...

I'm pretty sure that while I was perfectly minding my own business, sleeping peacefully and VERY MUCH on MY OWN side, she had made the attempt to reach over, sneak that pillow right over the line with the full intent of plopping it right over my face, but must have been SO exhausted from trekking across mountains and escape room escapes that she either under-calculated exactly how far away my face was, or else collapsed into a sound sleep right as she dropped the pillow.

Imagine my horror!!!

Either way, I was able to (barely survive.) I'm thinking that that might have been the entire purpose of the meetup, and as you can see, it was an epic fail.

And yes, she also knows that the reason I try my best to make someone laugh themselves "insensible" is because obviously -- I don't make any sense.

As a friendly public service reminder and shameless parody of the old Ren &Stimpy catchphrase:

#Don'tDroolOn

#TheElectricFence

Y'know a thought just occurred to me...

For all the lauding of men cooking in this thread, I noticed seoulsearch scrambled a LOT of eggs for breakfast. Almost like she didn't appreciate our cooking nearly as much as she says...:sneaky:

(Yeah, I understand, she's not big on eating meat and she's not supposed to eat a lot of sugar... But "I understand" conflicts with picking on her, and I just GOTTA pick on her a bit.)
