Did not the law of sin and death pass away with the death of Jesus? And the new creation man begin with His resurrection and Pentecost?

We have His Will to read now to see what our inheritance will be, with the first installment now of Holy Spirit and giftings.

Although there are many ways that Christians want to weasel out of them still used, the Ten Commandments are still in effect.

God provided the Mosaic (Levitical) Laws to enable the Israelites to keep them. Only one, Jesus, could keep these laws.

God provided the new commandment(s) to enable those who have been born again to keep them. If we love God as he has loved us, and we love each other as God has loved us, we keep all of his commandments.

We still have the choice, keep the commandments by keeping the Mosaic law, or keep the commandments through our love of God and each other.

The law Is GOD's perfect standard of Righteousness.

Jesus said It Is finished, before he bowed his head and gave up the ghost and sat down at the right hand of GOD,making peace between man and GOD.

Zechariah 14:16
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

This is in the law. Was this accomplished yet?

Christians have died and been raised up with Christ. Since the law only has dominion OVER a man until he dies, we who are in Christ are no longer UNDER the law. The old man is dead and gone, we are new creations in Christ. It is only those who have no faith in what Jesus did and who He says we are that still bound to the slavery of the law, and that is only because they refuse the gift that is freely given.

Here you are Fisnookman

Romans 7
Do you not know, brothers and sisters
—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during that person’s lifetime? 2 Thus a married woman is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives; but if her husband dies, she is discharged from the law concerning the husband. 3 Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man, she is not an adulteress.

4 In the same way, my friends, you have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5While we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we are slaves not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.

Romans 7 is perhaps ambiguous.

The image is of Jesus killing the Sinful Man, the First Husband.

But it also reads as our first husband dying, the Law, and marrying a new husband

Obviously it will be the 10 Commandments that will be written in our hearts, for the Christian there are no others----so they are still in force, being spiritual and eternal.

How then do you explain that the Apostle Paul uses one of those 10, coveting, as the very example of the Law that Christians have died to and been released from? (Rom. 7:5-7)

Based on this passage, did the law expire, or did you expire?

Both, the law expired for me when I died and was rose up in Christ.:D
Again the choice is yours, believe and follow Jesus or believe and follow the law, can be both. (scripture to follow)

:) But the passage doesn't say both.

So why is Jesus saying he did not come to destroy the law. You seem to be saying we can now live in sin since there is no law/Commandment to break. Yet SCRIPTURE tells us we have to stop sinning---I believe the word of God.

He didn't destroy the law. He fulfilled it.

The law is the schoolmaster to bring you to Him. Why would He destroy the schoolmaster that brings you to Him?

The only problem is people who haven't come to Him still think the Law is in effect. Because, for them, it is.

Let's just focus on the subject at hand and not argue what you think I SEEM to be saying... You seem to be saying we can stop sinning just by a force of our own wills. Just read the commandments and stop sinning. I assure you this is error.

Could you further explain what you mean here? It sounds as if you say I am free to covet, but I KNOW that isn't what you're saying because I've read dozens upon dozens of your posts. :) I understand that I've been freed from the penalty of my sins - death - by His sacrifice. But does this mean I am free from the law and can now covet with immunity? And have I, in fact, died to coveting if I still covet? And again, have I died to the law that says don't murder if I still murder?

This is in the law. Was this accomplished yet?

Its a cerimoinal law in respect to the temporal as that seen by which we could cannot evaluate each other. Just as the Sabbath. they are not part of the gospel .They a part of the ceremonies as shadows that point ahead to a suffering Savior.

All of the ceremonial laws as shadows were reformed during the time of reformation. The shadows be came the substance , the flesh of Christ the veil is still rent .And the tabernacle is still with men as the temple of God which indwells them .

There simply is no more of an outward flesh of a Jew to be used as types in parables of the unseen work of Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit of God. . We walk by the eternal faith of Christ the unseen. Not by that seen as if the kingdom of God was of this world. Its Emanuel as God “with us” .God never became one of us.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell “with them”, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be “with them”, and be their God.Rev 21:1

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

It is ambiguous......let's take a poll...(joking)

A}
1) The husband = sinful flesh
2) Christ kills sinful flesh
2) We are no longer wed to sinful flesh
3) We marry Christ

b}
1) The Husband = The Law
2) Christ puts an end to the Law
3) We are no longer married to the Law
4) We now marry Christ

Do you believe when the bible said ALL the law and the prophets are summed up In one word, love?

LOL. You are free to do anything your little heart desires. Now, what will you choose to do?

Yes, to answer your question. But back to my question..

Has the remnant of ALL the nations gone up to keep the feast of tabernacles each year to worship the king? Or to frame it another way; has those remaining of ALL the nations gone up to show love to God yet as detailed in the law? Was this accomplished yet?

Zeek I think in either case you're causing an error, for it is written in the law "thou shall not kill". If Christ, the personification of perfection and obedience, is the same yesterday today and forever, would he kill?

But truly, the death of a spouse lawfully ends a marriage vow. So who died per your analogy? Who expired: the law, or us?
