Hey Everyone,
I'm visiting some friends, and one of them just plopped a big trap in front of me -- a large jar of peanut M&M's. Since they are one of my favorite candies, I've been trying to keep myself busy with things like doing dishes, etc., to keep from snacking.
However, when I do partake of such foods, I often eat them in a certain "color" order first -- usually least favorite colors (brown, yellow, orange) first, then leaving my favorite colors for last (green, blue, red.)
I know it sounds a little batty (you all should be used to that by now!)
, but for some reason, it's just something I've always done. If I get a holiday mix, such as for Halloween, I'll do the same thing with the colors that are given (I eat the brown ones first, then the orange, then the green, then the purple.)
I guess it acts as some sort of OCD sorting/relaxation game for me... And I don't do this with all brightly colored rainbow foods, as I try to limit them and M&M's are about the only ones I'll choose to "spend" the calories on.
How about you?
When encountered with these kinds of foods:

1. Do you feel a need to sort them out by color/flavor/shape (if applicable?)
2. Do you eat them in a certain order (least favorite to favorite or vice versa?)
3. Does it still matter if it's something that all tastes the same? (I realize a bowl of peanut M&M's all taste alike, but for some reason, I feel a need to sort them anyway.)
4. Do you do this only for foods that have different flavors?
I'm curious to see if I'm the only one who partakes in this rather strange, but yet somehow oddly calming ritual!!
