Re-read what you just quoted. He says what he hears, not what He heard.. God speaks all the time.
The Holy Spirit is God right, he doesn't have to get new revelation from God... He is God. He doesn't have to get a "word" from the Lord and then pass it on to us. He teaches us by bringing scripture to our remembrance. If we don't get inspired bible verses in our head, then the Holy Spirit is going to be silent. Right? He will not speak of himself, in other words he is not going to speak a new thing, he's going to bring things you've already heard to your remembrance.

If you honestly want to know, things concerning my life.. If you think it's impossible, I will not endeavor to go back and forth as that is futile..
Is this your opinion of how the Holy Spirit works or do you base that idea on scripture?

Here's the bible verse:

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

HHolly explained it, but I think you misunderstood that scripture.... the Spirit speaks what he hears from God, to us. He doesn't only speak what WE speak... so it doesn't matter what version of scripture we're reading, the Spirit is speaking directly from God, to us.....explaining and enlightening us with God's truth.

Of course.... I'm an adopted son of God.

Then why don't you have a problem with "one and only son". You are a son of God and we know Jesus is a son of God also, so Jesus can not be God's one and only son. Translations that use that terminology are wrong... Inaccurate, not the pure word of God. There is a difference between one and only son and only begotten son.

The whole point of this discussion is "Which Bible". My answer is the inerrant one and there is only one inerrant English version that I Know of.

Are you saying that the Holy Spirit gets direction or revelation from God and then passes that on to us?

I imagine most people today do not even know what "begotten" means. It is not a word commonly used today.

However, everyone knows what a "son" is... it is the child of a father.

To say that Jesus is God's one and only son, is the same thing as saying he is his "only begotten" son, in today's vernacular.

I've never heard anyone argue about that. Ever. Well, except for the KJV onlyists, who want to insist on using archaic words and phrases that MOST people don't understand anymore.

The idea, or thought, or fact that the word is getting across STILL comes across, accurately.... in language that people can understand.

Luke 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

Looks like Adam was the son of God as well. I guess Jesus was not the only son of God. But Jesus was the only begotten son of God. You would have to admit that the word begotten is correct and to say that Jesus was God's one and only son is in error.

Well as far as i know whether the Holy Spirit speaks, God the Father speaks or God the Son speaks it is God who is speaking. So saying the Holy Spirit does not speak is the same as saying God does not speak. And seeing how God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit, i would say God is then speaking. God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit equals God in full.

Unless you are seperating the Holy Spirit from God. If thats the case then i would say you have a problem with the trinity in general.
I agree with ya. But the bible clearly says the spirit will not speak of itself. That's the part of the verse that needs to be understood.

Who taught you? What is your background?
You don't follow your own claims, you're all over the place

He only repeats if we quote from the correct Bible? Is that what you're saying? God the creator is not capable of more? I don't understand how you believe that

Odd that with all this "knowledge" you can not answer a simple one sentence question.....are you saying God can not keep His Word and message pure if someone uses a different translation?

Are you saying that the Holy Spirit gets direction or revelation from God and then passes that on to us?

No.... I think the Spirit, being the indwelling of God in us, speaks God's words to us, or explains, or enlightens us.... if we seek the truth.

In other words, the Spirit will only speak what God speaks. He doesn't make stuff up on his own... If we are seeking to know truth, the Spirit will help us find it..... not by reminding us of what we already "know".... stuff we don't comprehend...

I'm saying the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth by bringing scripture to remembrance. Everything we know or can know about God comes from his word. Anything else is carving out our own God.

According to the bible there are lying spirits out there to deceive us, in fact God says that he sends the lying spirits to deceive those who don't like what God has to say.

How do we know if the spirit speaking to us is the Holy Spirit or a lying spirit. Case in point, did the Holy Spirit tell you the KJV is not the inerrant word of God or did that come from a lying spirit? And how do you know which spirit it came from?

The problem is not "different" translations, the problem is wrong translations. The language could have been updated to modern language and still be the inerrant word of God but that hasn't happened because if it had happened there would be a modern translation without errors.

You do know that the KJV is a translation? Jesus did not speak the Kings English. Inerrant is a strong word to use in relation to the KJV English translation of Gods word.

I prefer the KJV and it is unmatched for memorization but there are a few issues in the text. There are some additions and there are some missing passages. The original manuscripts have a more credible claim to inerrancy than any translation.

The KJV is a good translation but still is a translation. English will never be Hebrew or Greek. I will attest that God is able to protect His word and what we have today is more than able to make us wise unto salvation. The Holy Spirit uses our translations to accomplish Gods will just as He did with the originals.

Do you believe God is capable of translating his word into all languages?

And, by the same token, we could ask you which spirit told you the KJV was THE version to use? How do you know that it was the Spirit telling you that.... and, since the Spirit doesn't speak of himself, how and why is he involved in giving approval of a translation of the word?
