4 Arcangels (Rev 1 whole chapter, Daniel 10:13)= they are the chief angels, leading angels, warring angels, and messenger angels. There are three Arcangels mentioned in the bible such as Lucifer, Michael, and Gabriel. one of them as we knew has fallen already. Among of these three, Lucifer was the only unique arc angel who had two position in heaven. He had a position as an arcangel and the other one is a Cherub. the bible said he's also an anointed cherub(Ezekiel 28:14).

If there are three archangels, and scripture ties Gabriel to The Holy Spirit....and Michael to The Son....then that leaves Satan as being tied to The Father....right?

An archangel with each Person of the Holy Trinity.

Technically, Gabriel is never described as an archangel....He's called the leader of the seraphim. It's logically argued that makes him an archangel.

This angel says he was one of the prophets.

no, he doesn't.

Rev 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
Rev 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

he's saying he's a servant, like John is a servant, like Israel's prophets are servants, and like anyone who keeps God's word is a servant of God.
not that he's a prophet - but that he is not to be worshiped any more than a prophet should be worshiped.

And FYI...no one was saved "in the last age", per your Bio. Scripture is VERY CLEAR in stating that every saved person will no exactly WHEN they became saved as it is a WILLFUL ACT of acceptance of Christ as Savior and a purposeful COMMITTING of oneself to Him.

You have been mislead to believe otherwise.
Maggie

My Bio is a personal thing to me. It's not up for your interpretation. That is an interesting statement you made on scripture stating that every person will know exactly when they were saved. Can you direct me to it? It is a fascinating statement. Thanks. :)

Also, can you read this verse slowly please? The angel says he was a prophet. That means he was human before. There is no such thing as an angel prophet. Prophets were men, like Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, etc.. So, if prophets were men called of GOD, then this angel used to be a man.

First off, We are NOT angels. We are different from them because we were created after God's image(Gen.1:26, Gen 3:22). Human has a soul while angel has no soul.

There 5 divisions of angels in heaven namely:

1 seraphims (isaiah 6 whole chapter)= these angels have 6 wings. they are Declaring the glory of God by saying " Holy, Holy, Holy ". u can read the whole verse i gave u about them.

2 Cherubims ( Ezekiel 1:1-10, Gen.3:24) = Also involved in the worship and praised of God. Cherubs are the angels which first mentioned in the bible. Each of them had four faces- that of a man,a lion, an ox, and an eagle. Each had four wings. They are protecting the Glory.

3 Living Creatures (Revelation 4 whole chapter). there are only 4 of them mentioned in the Bible. they were covered with eyes , in front and in the back. the first " living creatures " was like a lion, the 2nd was like an ox, the 3rd had a face like a man, the forth was like a flying eagle. each of them had six wings also and were covered also with eyes even under of its wings. Somewhat similar to cherubims and seraphims and yet they are different, combination between the seraphims and cherubims.

4 Arcangels (Rev 1 whole chapter, Daniel 10:13)= they are the chief angels, leading angels, warring angels, and messenger angels. 5 Angels or common angels (Gen 18: 1-19, Joshua 5:13-14)= They have NO wings, they appeared as young men in the bible. they are wingless angels. Actually there are many verses in the bible about them.
Cherubim are the living creature ezekiel 1 and 10
Archangels are cheubims

The lexicons define him as an archangel...and, by his actions, he is...
Gabriel is not an arcangel or else he would not have called for Michael the archangel to help fight the devil who is an unclean cherubim

Technically, Gabriel is never described as an archangel....He's called the leader of the seraphim. It's logically argued that makes him an archangel.
seraphims are more powerful than cherubims gabriel is neither

An archangel with each Person of the Holy Trinity.
there are more than three archangel and this theory of linking them to the trinity is blasphamy

Whose Soul is GOD talking about in these verses?

Mat_12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
Heb_10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Isa 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

'and of thy brethren'

I read that as being a little more specific. If I'm reading it wrong, show me how and I will appreciate it.
It reads to me that the angel is categorizing himself. He is a fellowservant and 'of', which means member of, your brothers the prophets.

[h=2]Archangels, Michael & Gabriel[/h]Only two of God's angels are directly named in the Bible, the Archangel Michael and Gabriel, God's special messenger. So these two angels must be special angels!
Another important rank of angels are Archangels.
[h=3]Archangels[/h]The term or prefix 'arch' is Greek for ruling or Chief. Archangels are only mentioned twice in the Bible and only one angel is specifically called an Archangel, Michael 1.
The only other time the word Archangel appears in the Bible is to do with the end of time 2.
Both of these cases, speak of a singular Archangel which could suggest that there is only one arch or ruler angel and that indeed is Michael.
There is a strong Jewish tradition that says there are seven Archangels and many think that the seven angels mentioned in the book of Revelation could be seven Archangels 3.
In the Old Testament book of Daniel, Michael is called 'one of the chief princes', which might suggest that there's more than one archangel 4!
During the the middle ages, an 'angelic' hierarchy was written by an author only known as ' Pseudo-Dionysius'. In this list of nine ranks, archangels are ranked second from bottom, which seems rather strange for a 'ruling angel'!
According to Jewish tradition (but not the Bible!) the seven archangels are:

  • Michael
  • Gabriel
  • Rapheal
  • Uriel
  • Raguel
  • Saraqael
  • Remiel
Out of the seven, only Michael and Gabriel are named in the Bible (Only Michael is called an archangel in the Bible.). An angel called Raphael has a major part in the book of Tobit 5.
The book of Tobit is part of a group of books known as the the Protestant Apocrypha [these books are a collection that are considered important, but are not in the Bible and not considered sacred by Protestants] and the Catholic and Orthodox Deuterocanon [most Catholics and Orthodox Christians consider these books to be sacred]. The other four 'archangels' are listed in the book of Enoch. This book is in the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha [a group of books considered sacred by the Ethiopian Orthodox Christians] 6.

Also, can you read this verse slowly please?

yes, and closely, and carefully:

the angel says he is a fellow of John, of John's brothers (John being a Jew and the prophets also being Jews) the prophets, and of those that keep the sayings of the book. a fellow in service, not in race. he says "fellowservant" - not "fellow man"

these all share a fellowship because they are all servants. it is like Barnabas and Paul telling the people of Lystra (Acts ch. 14) that 'we are men just like you' -- the angel is saying 'i am a servant just like you - don't worship me; worship God'

Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Showing them sent forth to minister to the heirs

Hebrew 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Even though Christ became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him, shows them here with him as well

Mark 1:13
And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

As all the letters to the churches were from him to the angels

Rev 2:1

Rev 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write

Rev 2:12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write;

Rev 2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write

Rev 3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write

Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write;

Rev 3:14

Gabriel is not an arcangel or else he would not have called for Michael the archangel to help fight the devil who is an unclean cherubim

Gabriel was not beset by the devil in the Book of Daniel, it was the Prince of Persia, who was a Principality of the kingdom of darkness.

'He is a fellowservant and 'of', which means member of, your brothers the prophets.

fellowservant means he shares a fellowship of servanthood with them. that specifically they are servants of a master, the Lord, and he is also a servant of the same Lord.

this really doesn't have anything to do with identifying himself as the same taxonomical species as John. if it did, why wouldn't he say 'my brothers the prophets?' instead he called them John's brothers. the angel is justifying to John why John should not worship him, saying that the angel is only a servant, like John is a servant, like the prophets are servants - not deserving any more praise than them. on their level as far as worship goes. that's all. not that the angel is an evolved human.
the context here is that John is astounded by his glory and falls down to worship him, and the angel is telling him to stop doing that and that only God should be worshiped. why would the angel's argument to John in this case be "don't worship me, by the way i used to be one of the most holy and respected of humans but now i am way, way more exalted than even that" ??? that would be crazy talk, man.

Gabriel was not beset by the devil in the Book of Daniel, it was the Prince of Persia, who was a Principality of the kingdom of darkness.
Who do you think the prince of persia was that michael had to come and fight him ? it was the devil

Three archangels makes perfect sense.
an archangel is a cherub 4 cherubims are around God throne therefore there are more than 3
please shew that there are three
Gabriel is just the chief messenger that is all

Who Are The Angels?

We are the angels. We are in flesh bodies at this point in time due to what happened to cause all of this, but we were angels before and we will be angels again:

In order for GOD to know Jeremiah before he was formed in the belly, Jeremiah had to be somewhere.

Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

This angel says he was one of the prophets. There is no such thing as an angel prophet. Only men were prophets (Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, etc.).

Angels are and were powerful beings, and that is what we were before coming here in the flesh. That is what we will be again when we are changed into that spirit body that is described in 1st Corinthians chapter fifteen.

You are a a living example of Col 2.18....came back to earth Gnostic.
