the sad thing about all this is, the "Jews" never followed any of God's laws. They followed their own traditions , stuff they made up.

So to say, hey how dare you teach God's words contained in the old testament, because the Jews did that, makes no sense, because they never did that. This shows people don't read the Bible no adays .But only go on what this good person said, or that person said.

People don't seem to have been taught , that the Jews that are responsible for Christ death, were not from the Tribe of Judah. They only called themselves Jews because of were they lived.

All Israel , all Christians every were have to follow the ten commandments and all of God's words. If not then try it out. Go to your local store and try to steal something to see if there are consequences for breaking " you shall not steal " .

Food law? Is there some extra righteousness that we recieve, in addition to Christ, because of food law?

Personally I don't care what anybody eats....but I did not inspire the holy word of God either. God is the one who asked the clean and unclean food instructions to be written down and believe it or not He did it for our benefits. If we eat clean and healthy food our bodies are fueled properly and perform at optimum levels. God did not want us to eat unclean foods because those animals purposes in life were clean up duty of the planet. The living garbage collectors and bottom cleaners of the sea. It was God who said our bodies were the temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in, it was God who gave the clean and unclean instructions and only after the flood did He allow meat to be introduced into the food chain for humans.

We don't eat our way into heaven it won't save us if we choose to be a vegetarian, but we will have a chance at better life with less sickness. If you need proof of a good diet read the book of Daniel where the Hebrew boys were tested on their diet. Dietary laws are still important for good health just as God's 10 commandments are still good to show us what sin is. Neither one will save us as Jesus died to do that, but both are important in helping us be complete balanced and healthy humans. To love God, our neighbors and ourselves.

You must be misunderstanding me.

I am asking for no explanation of the food laws.

I have a clear understanding of the food laws from the NT
,
in 1Tim 4:3-5; Ro 14:14, 17, 20; 1Co 8:8, 10:25; Heb 9:10; Col 2:16-17; Mk 7:19.
You are saying
you know all about everything in this book, and you base that on the last few chapters. It doesn't work that way. You can't truly understand anything of the last chapter of anything, not our world, our God, a person, or a book, without looking at the beginning, too.

You have a thorough understanding of the last chapters, but it is missing a lot of pieces because
you are not accepting the bulk of scripture. You know of the changes Christ made, but
by not knowing what Christ changed or why, you are not understanding.
I'll start with the last one first.

I do know from the NT what Christ changed and why he changed it.

And are you sure that I don't accept the bulk of Scripture, and that what I know
is based on the "last few chapters" only?

People use this phrase to actually say teaching God's own words are bad. That is twisting of scripture. If that was the case, then call me that too, because I wont toss out God's words, whatever P.C smear word is dreamed up by people not familiar with the Bible.
The meaning of "Judaizer" is Jewish professing Christians adding Mosaic regulations to the gospel.

It is Paul's word (Gal 2:14), and it means "to live as do the Jews."

No need to load it up with what is not authorized by it.

????????????????????? Going on how i've seen the majority use it. This all is a waste of time really.

Its drawn from one verse in the Bible, that dose not even use that phrase. And it was actually Christians, being told to follow the old ways of the law, like the old covenant rituals , most likely that was the case. But in that one verse its still never even clear. I'm no bible scholar, but even i can see the phrase takes on a life of its own, as a tool of people, trying to convince its okay to ignore God's words contained in His commandments, teaching people not to learn or obey them.

They try to mix that in with the old covenant blood rituals that were done away with, and confuse the issues.

So When a Christian knows God's words, and says hey, Christ taught the law contained in the Ten commandments and the like, and said He did Not change one bit of it: then the accusers step in with phrases like " Judaizers " people not getting what that even means, to try to attack Bible believing Christians, and cause divisions.

It's how Satan operates among Christian in a divide and conquer strategy.

And study of God's actual words, as its presented is overlooked and pushed aside in favor of the catch phrase of the day. The way Satan divides Christians from God's words ultimately.

I can't know what is in your mind and heart, what you post is all I know. From your posts you are a Christian, saved by the blood of Jesus. Your posting also shows that your learning of God's ways is from the NT, with filling in with what the OT says. I think that always makes for a mix up of God principles in people's minds. God taught us, using our concept of time, from first teaching people in the OT, from that foundation God gave us Christ.

By insisting on doing things your way, from the NT to the OT, you are missing the foundations. If you knew the foundations of the food laws, for instance, you would look at them differently. With this new understanding, I would bet you would still not use the physical kosher laws, but that would be sort of beside the point. You would have a greater understanding, not only of kosher and what it means, but of all of God.

You know from the NT what Christ changed and why he changed it, but you don't know the God principles that are eternal in the things Christ changed because you decide that isn't important. It is.

You have nailed it. People who have no case resort to name calling, which does nothing but show immaturity. It leaves no room for honest discussion of anything.

This thread was intended to bring understanding of origins of a word "judaizer", and how it is misused today.

okay, then I'll take a look at it later. I wish the title was that then "" origins of a word "judaizer", and how it is misused today.""

some who are not sound in the faith must condemn others who do not have the same understanding or tradition that other believers have. many on these threads condemn Catholics, along with 'judaizers', or any other faith tradition that does not line up with their doctrines. this site is merely a reflection of the condition of the church today, and shows how Christendom is in a fallen state. as long as christians continue to condemn one another the world is given a false witness of who Jesus Christ is.
Jesus will judge his own first, God have mercy on all our souls.

Galatians helps very much here as this letter fills in the background of the Jerusalem council (in Acts 15).

1) What does Paul mean by 'works of the law' and in relation to ?

2) What does freedom mean in the same book and in context, keeping in mind Pauls 'works of the Law' - 'the Law as School master' and rebuilding what had been torn down.. when he reprimanded Peter?

How do you reconcile abiding and following Law, when you have been set free to fulfil it in Christ (bearing Fruit)..

Then Paul's word has been hi-jacked.

Don't blame it on the word "Judaizer," blame it on the hi-jackers, and address them and their hi-jacking.

I really don't see another way you can come to believing some of the things you say you believe in. If you knew all of what God has done and said, then you could not help knowing that some of it does not mesh with scripture.

Wow! you are all still stuck under the law! unless I am mistaking The lord Jesus set a new covenant by shedding His Blood at the cross and introduced a new Gospel. God found fault with the Law (Hebrews 8;8-12) The Lord Jesus came to this earth brought the law back to pristine conditions in other words fulfilled it on our behalf as IT was IMPOSSIBLE for any human to do so and then nailed it to the cross. The new Gospel is the Gospel of Grace which is not a subject or a topic but the person of The Lord Jesus Himself. Take the time to read the below from Pastor Joseph Prince who is a specialist on Grace it will set you free if you receive it.

Let me give you some frighting statistics. There are 2.2 billion Christians in the world or 31.42% of the world population. Each day 250,000 people die. Based on the fact that only 31.42% of those are Christians it means that 171,450 people each day or 7144 people every hour or 119 people per minute or 2 people EVERY SECOND land in Hell! In the time that it has taken to write this post 1190 souls landed in Hell and we sit around talking about keeping a Law that was removed and replaced? Keeping the law after Christ returned and removed it is like telling Christ he died for nothing and that we didn't really need Him. As if that is not bed enough you are bringing a curse on to yourself actually a double curse as it is written in Galatians 1:6-10.

We all need to wake up! I hope what I have written stares up your spirit enough to want to look in to what I have just said. I dare you to just close your eyes and pray "Father lead me by Your spirit, should I discard this or look into it" and if your spirit feels at peace it means you have your answer.

Grace is NOT a topic. Grace is NOT a subject to be studied. Grace is The Gospel. Grace is The Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s grace is His undeserved, unearned and unmerited favor. And because it is undeserved, unearned and unmerited, ALL OF US qualify for it. But how do we make sure we walk in it?
In the old covenant, we see this “it’s all up to me” demand put on man. God’s part was to bless His people, but only if they played their part by obeying all of His laws. If they didn’t do their part, not only would they not be blessed, but the curse would also come on them.
Most of the time, they ended up under the curse because they just could not keep all of God’s laws. So God found fault with that covenant because though He wanted to bless man, man’s sins made it difficult for Him to do so. Man himself was the weak link.
In the new covenant, man has no part to play except to believe and receive. The new covenant of grace was cut between God the Father and God the Son — both infallible and more than able to keep the covenant.
Jesus’ blood has been shed for the remission of all your sins (past present and future). You are now the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21) By His one perfect sacrifice, He has perfected you forever. (Hebrews 10:14, KJV) There is no spot in you!
Today, the devil has no right to tell you that you cannot be blessed because there is something wrong with you.
You may ask, since Jesus had to nail the law to the cross, does this mean that the law is bad?” No! A thousand times no! Paul himself answers this question in Romans 7:12 when he states that “the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.” But, while the law is holy, just and good, it has no power to make you holy, just and good. The law is like a mirror. All that a mirror can do is tell you the truth and point out your deficiencies. , That’s what the law does. It shows you God’s perfect holiness, justice and goodness, but at the same time, it also exposes your imperfections and your inability to meet God’s standards.
And in the same way that you can’t use a mirror to clean the dirt that it has exposed off your face, you cannot use the law to remove the sins that it has exposed and make you holy.
What Jesus did on the cross created the new covenant, and made the first covenant—the covenant of the law—obsolete (Hebrews 8:13). In this new covenant, Jesus has already fulfilled for us the righteous requirements of the law (Romans 8:3–4), so that we are no longer under law but under grace (Romans 6:14).
You cannot merit God’s blessings through your good works. All His blessings, including the blessings of health, provision and success, are wrapped up in the person of Jesus! When you have Jesus, you have the gift of righteousness and the abundance of grace completely by His unmerited favor. You cannot earn them, work for them or deserve them. They are gifts!

Jesus is your righteousness, holiness and redemption. You are righteous, holy and redeemed (and blessed) not because of your good works, but because you have received God’s provision of His Son.

And because Jesus can never fail or be removed from the throne, you will always have Him as your righteousness, holiness and redemption! This is a powerful truth that will lift you out of the realm of doubt and fear and put you in the realm of faith and hope. It will cause you to reign over ALL OF your circumstances.

Is Grace a free ticket to sin?

Sin cannot take root in a person who is full of the consciousness that he is righteous in Christ. You cannot stop birds from flying over your head, but you can certainly stop a bird from building a nest on your head. In the same way, you cannot stop temptations, sinful thoughts and desires from passing through your mind, but you can certainly stop yourself from acting on these temptations, sinful thoughts and desires by confessing at the very moment of temptation that you are the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ

Doesn't knowing that God has forgiven all our sins (past present and future) and given us His grace, become a license for people to live a sinful lifestyle?

God's grace (undeserved, unmerited, unearned favour) empowers us to experience victory over sin, unclean habits and addictions in our lives. In other words, God's grace gives us dominion over sin (Romans 6:14), NOT keeps us under the bondage and power of sin.

The Bible is very clear, and emphatic, about this. Romans 6:14 says, "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." Sin loses its control ("dominion") over you when you are under grace ("not under law but under grace").

Wow, are you serious or joking? The entire bible messes with God. Every world and pincutation is of God and it messes 100.0000000% I hope you reconsider that statement.

Every word of scripture is truth, everything fits together. I am addressing things people say that some scripture does not agree with. If what they say does not agree with what the bible says, it is not the bible that is off, if is what people say that is off. That is true of the bible from Genesis to Revelation. From experience I have had with you, I think you knew that is what this post is saying, you found a way to pounce on me.

What a long post to say that because Christ offers us grace and forgiveness we don't have to read all about that boring stuff, about what sin is, being we are not under it, now don't pay it any mind. I didn't think the word under meant don't listen.

Then to sum it up with that if we have the Holy Ghost in us we have complete protection from doing any sin. So if we hit our thumb with a hammer and it tempts us to swear, just don't worry, you are protected from swearing, you just won't do it.

There are quite a few scriptures where that doesn't fit with what it tells us.
