All family and friends?
By text ,phone, email, facebook or face to face?
Do you live close to all of them?
Are you excited about Christmas this year?

I live thousands of miles from almost all of them.
i have a few siblings that are not as close as we used to be. Its borderline hostile unfort. This is a test of our maturity. Though we have drifted apart, we need to observe some basic rules of respect. After all, we shared the same parents. I am tempted to write a bland "Merry Christmas" to all on Facebook. Thats not very Christian, is it.

In my experience given, I have not seen any of my four older siblings in over fifty year. Actually only one sister is living. I have always contacted them, while living on the ir birthday's and Christmas. The same waqs true for my parents. I love them all but the great number of marriages within the group has taken its toll on anything resembling family. The divorces began when I was about seven and continued for two decades. Keeping track was impossible. But love never left my heart and soul for all. A Facebook kgreeting in love is a good thing, especially if the relations are on the shaky side. God bless you, your family and mine...……..especiaally all in Yeshua, Jesus, amen. Me4rry Christmas to all.

I start out going to my church Christmas Eve Candle light service and communion we end the service lighting our candle and singing Silent Night. Christmas morning at my sisters, we usually do our stockings and than eat, and than open gifts.

Given your scenario - I think that is a great ice-breaking initiative... Someone has to start somewhere...

For your consideration - I suggest seizing an opportunity to raise the ante... You might include a famous family quote along with your generic effort to reinvigorate the family bond... For example:

“Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.” —David Ogden Stiers
“Rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life.” —Albert Einstein
“Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.” —Anthony Brandt
