God cannot create evil, but God does find a way to manipulate it for good, like the wicked religious leaders against Jesus. Though the devil tried to destroy Him, it was actually written for Him to face those trials and face the penalty that would bring us salvation and confirmed by His resurrection. But everything that comes from God is good. :)

Isn't it God who put the "tree of knowledge of Good and evil" in the garden...that mens good and evil comes from the same source...

and Jesus Christ tells in John that Satan is murderer from the BEGINNING

Jn 8:44.. He was a murderer from the beginning, ...

Isaiah 14:12 is not talking about Satan, because verse 4 of the same chapter says

"That you shall take up this proverb against the KING OF BABYLON..." and then verse 11 says:

"Your pomp is brought down to the grave [Satan never died or was put in a grave], and the noise of your viols [harps or lutes]: the worm [or maggots] is spread under you [can maggots eat a spirit body], and the worms cover you"

Lucifer= morning star. there are a lot of places where morning star is reffered in the bible

For example if we take Zech 11:2, which has the same word "eill" used in Isaiah,

Zch 11:2 Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

then it will be "Lucifer, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen" doesn't make sense right?

Sooo be it! amen. This has been an education.two hrs. of great reading no arguments, I love it this way! But I only got thru 3 pgs. Kardinoangelous, you are a very good Bible sch.. Justamazed, you are a loose radical, you won't be contained with in the literalness of Scripture, It is all a fairy tail to you. Yourfriend4ever,This thread should help you alot,keep studing and God will lift you confusion into praise for HIM, all wise creator ,sustainer, God almighty! You all were good boys and girls,LOL as I tell my little children in our church, Only good boys and girls,who love and obey Jesus, go to heaven. Sooo, what is evil? My definition is: the essence of good is to obey God, and the essence of evil is to disobey God. God is not evil, only good. But love or good is not God. God does good and evil,,calamity to us, but not "all the time". My doct. of creation is, as Dr. Rudooff taught us, at Ref. Epis. Sem., "He is not it and it is not He". I will try finishing my reading tomorrow. Love to all, Hoffco, Doug

The Bible makes it clear that God never intended that we suffer this way. He placed the original couple in a paradise home that was free from pain and suffering. (Genesis 1:28) No doubt you well know how things went wrong: An invisible spirit creature, who came to be known as the Devil and Satan, induced Adam and Eve to disobey God. (Genesis, chapter 3; Revelation 12:9) By doing this, Adam condemned all his offspring to sin and its devastating effects. (Romans 5:12) Clearly, it was not God who brought evil upon mankind, but man himself.-Deuteronomy 32:5; Ecclesiastes 7:29.

This rebellion in Eden also raised a moral issue, a challenge of universal importance. The human rebels called into question whether Jehovah properly exercised his rulership over his creatures. The implication was if the Creator has the right to require full obedience from humankind; and, would they/people be better off if they acted independently.
Jehovah handled this challenge to his rulership in a way that demonstrated his perfect balance of love, justice, wisdom, and power. He could have used his power to crush the rebellion immediately and may have seemed just, since he had the right to do so. But doing so would not have answered the moral questions that had been raised. On the other hand, God could have simply overlooked the sin. Such a course might seem to some today to be a loving option. Yet, this too would fail to address Satan’s claim that humans would be better off ruling themselves. Furthermore, would such a course would not encourage others to deviate from Jehovah’s way. The result would be endless suffering.

In his wisdom, Jehovah has allowed humans to go their own way for a time. Even though this has meant permitting evil to remain temporarily, humans have thus had the opportunity to show whether they can successfully rule themselves independent of God, living by their own standards of what is right and wrong. The results have been calamitous. Human history has consistently been characterized by war, injustice, oppression, and suffering. The ultimate failure of the rebellion against Jehovah will settle the issues raised in Eden once and for all time.

Meanwhile, God has displayed his love by providing his Son, Jesus Christ, who gave up his human life as a ransom sacrifice. This enables obedient humans to be freed from the condemnation of sin and death that resulted from Adam’s disobedience. The ransom has opened the way to everlasting life for all who exercise faith in Jesus.-John 3:16.

We have Jehovah’s comforting assurance that human suffering is temporary. “Just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more,” wrote the psalmist. “You will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.”-Psalm 37:10, 11.

two choices - believe God or dont..
we separate ourselves from Him and fall into darkness or believe and stay connected to Him "the vine".
when you mobe away from a lightbulb the only place away from it is darkness..

Revelation 22:5

God is not the author of evil - God is completely separate from His creation - in giving a will, it chooses that which is not God

Romans says - 22What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath--prepared for destruction/ 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory

It's all about His Glory and the praise of His grace

Look When God created, he created all things. So in a sense, I can see were people can take this to a level of confusion. In Isaiah 45: 7 says one thing, then in James 1: 13-15 says the oposite. I think we will never know the true understanding until Jesus Comes back. You got to remember when Satan was created, he was created perfect. Only he chose the dark side of things. So he rebelled against God, and was thrown out of heaven, as Sin and evil don't belong in heaven. So in a sense, if God created satan, then yes I can see how some people may think God created Evil. When God created things, he created oposites to everything. But He created all that is good. but by free will of his followers and his children. they indevidually chose the oposite of the good that God created for us.

So God did not create evil in a sense to be used as evil. He had to create an oposite to everything. in order for us to choose the right choice of free will. However those verses are something we will never fully understand. But it means that we don't lead ourselves astray with our own thoughts or make our own understanding. We need to pray for God to show us and help us to understand.

The answer, To the OP;

(Rom 9:22)
What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
(Rom 9:23)
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

Only then would we have the choice to choose righteousness. If wickedness didn't exist, none of us would have that opportunity to choose righteousness or to then be manifest and;

(Isa 41:23)
Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

God (YHWH) did not create evil. It is a gnostic heresy/influence to say that God (YHWH) created evil (and therefore, He Himself is evil).

Evil, in the sense of sin, is not God's creation, and you point out the nature of free will is integral to life. In Ezekiel 28, iniquity was found in Satan, a personal matter to Satan, something of Satan's choice, obviously not of God's creation or leading. It's like a space heater. A company can make a space heater, and a safe one, when used according to the manufacturer's instructions, but somebody misusing it can burn their house down. Nobody made that space heater to burn houses down. Neither is God's omniscience, having foreknowledge of events, a function of His participating in those events involving the sinful acts of others, involving their willful, or not willful, even, disobedience of God.

God is the Creator of all creation so He also created evil. But why?

And again, GOD created all good things in six days and were pleased with all of them and called them very good, in blessing them. And also GOD imparted good words of commandment to Adam, for the good and safe being of Adam and Eve here on earth.

Then the devil sneaked in and imparted evil lies by twisting GOD's words to deceive the weak Eve. Eve decided to listen and obey the devil's words and became evil by her own 'self' (as lucifer did in the beginning, rejecting the rule of GOD over him), by practicing his evil words, that clearly rejects and truly against the good GOD's words imparted in and from Adam to her. And Adam knowing first GOD's direct words, followed from the contribution of Eve what was already
evil, that it's motive is to disobey GOD the creator and owner of them and everything for them.

GOD did not created evil but allowed it until HIS destined time for it to be destroyed. Those who obey GOD, might be difficult for them to practice, but they will grow and become good like HIM, in the future. But those who obey the devil, in opposition to GOD's words, will be easy for them to practice, but they will grow and become evil like him, in deceit and lies and murder, taking them away from GOD.

As it is written as also a lesson for CHRISTIAN to 'abide' in them as the good words of GOD, documented in the epistle of Jude that;

"Even Michael the archangel did not dare insult satan, but only said that, 'GOD will rebuke you'."

God never created evil. He created beings with free will. They can chose to do good or evil.
Then where did the tree of KOGE came from?
Where did the knowledge of good came from ?
Where did the knowledge of evil came from ?

Did evil exist before God created man ?

Job 1:8
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Colossians 1:16
16For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.…

Any and everything will be used to bring Gods children to Him. We all have a choice with free will on what master we will serve. I said this a while back " Just because there are a few thorns, doesn't stop God from watching a rose grow ".
