By what spirit are you speaking? See how that works? You can say, "I love you" by this spirit or by that spirit. The spirit by which you speak counts more than the letter.
Focus on my topic, woman.. Don't preach the Gospel to me. I know about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, The Son of David. :P

I once heard these wise words spoken by a Greek Orthodox priest: "You can teach but you can't force people to learn." Does that warning suggest anything to you, @shyamuraix?

lol.. you lost me at "using Wikipedia as a source of information for many years".

But sure, whatever you say mate..

I'd like to engage with people who have something to say about this pagan deity called 'yahweh'.

Well, I rely on the NIV footnote and article on p. 11, which says that Yahweh means Lord,
but of course you are free to disagree with those expert scholars.

There's a book called Judaism & It's Strange Gods.

It's very hard to find, but I have it and I can send it to you.

U see this topic is very hard to discuss because it faces major scrutiny and censorship since the Jews TODAY own all media and the dissemination of knowledge/information.

However, this book discusses how the Orthodox Judaics today are The Pharisees and Saducees from the New Testament times who denied and opposed Jesus Christ as The Messiah, and ultimately were the force behind him being crucified, being the children of Satan.

In the New Testament, those black boxes and phylactaries I believe they are called are even mentioned by The Lord Jesus!

This will open your eyes man! Hit me up for the book.. because I cant attach anything besides images files in the forum. It's in EPUB format..

we're not talking about English and we're not talking about pronounciations brother..

I'm telling you, that YEHOVAH from The Hebrew Bible, is NOT 'yahweh'..

'yahweh' is a different deity altogether, who is a 'storm-god' from the Sumerian creation myths, who is better known as Baal in the Old Testament.

If only God knows the truth, and we can't know the truth, then how can we believe anything?

Please study these subjects deeper before you engage in this conversation, it's not a matter of OPINION, its a matter of FACT.

Especially to those like me who were NOT BORN CHRISTIAN. And looked for EVIDENCE before believing..
shyamuraix, I believe you in your premise that the ORIGIN of the WORD 'yahweh' refers to a Sumerian diety, and am not contesting that point. However, what you seem to willingly overlook is the FACT that language changes, cultural exchanges and appropriations abound, and the roots of words may be traced to one thing but the usage of them evolves in many cases. Not just in English but in every language created by man.
This is a mute point, as many Christians and Jews refer to God the Father as 'Yahweh". Perhaps it is the incorrect version in your eyes, and even historically inaccurate. But the incontrovertible fact my friend is that it does no harm and I sincerely doubt God HIMself minds, as HE is ALL of our creator.
Finally shyamuraix, your premise that the 'Jews" own/control all the media and information dissemination is blatantly racist and patently unfactual. I am surprised that any educated person such as yourself would espouse such ridiculous bigotry. As sentient humans we should be beyond such racial slurs!
Be well shymuriax, and I'll pray for you as I ask you to do for me. God, no matter what we call HIM, loves us all!

Suggest to list out all the major media, from fox, Newsmax, to cnn... see who really own, control them.

When someone says something, we debate on if it's true or not, not throwing a hat such as "racism" or anti this anti that. That is not debating.

Please be an educated person.

My understanding is that "God" translates as Elohim in Gen. 1:1-2:4,
and "Yahweh" translates as Lord in Gen. 2:5 and the rest of the OT.
“Elohim” is a category noun, not a proper name. When the witch of Endor summoned Samuel at Saul’s insistence, they saw “an elohim” rising from the ground.

Correct, elohim is a general name, such as boss, manager....not a personal name such as Smith, john....

YHVH or YHWH depending on how English evolve, the original Hebrew writing is personal name of God, as we call someone Mary or Joseph, personal name.

You know Michael Heiser! Good on you bro!

There is no understanding of Scripture without addressing The Unseen Realm!

You're wrong. Elohim is refers to angels/gods, spiritual beings. When it is used in the capital G, it refers to God.

You have no studied this subject well enough to comment on it.

The scripture itself and the apostle Paul speaks of Jews in this manner.. So I don't know what you're babbling about. You might as well refute Paul!

What a clown!

Whatever, fool..

The subject is YEHOVAH is NOT YAHWEH the pagan deity.

Stop deviating from it.. These are distinct names, not changes in language or pronounciations..

But I understand, most of you fools are taught what you believe in, you do not learn it by Spirit.

Oh well..

shyamurix, since you don't have the authority to decide who may comment on an issue, please refrain. Further, I have been deeply respectful of you... please return the courtesy and refrain from childish name-calling.

I am saying elohim means boss manager.
It is a general term of small g deity also, not necessarily big g God.

Dont cry to me, do it alone in your room before you sleep my friend.

it doesn't.

its a term used to describe supernatural divine beings. this includes God.

Genesis one is all God with a big G. and then 'gods' are referred to as Elohim as well with a small 'g'.

Trying to understand Scripture without addressing the supernatural is pointless.

Go read Psalm 82.

also The LORD God is translated to YEHOVAH ELOHIM. THE GOD OF GODS.
