I understand fidget spinners. I do not understand why we have so many kinds.

If you're so bored that you need a VARIETY, you need a real hobby. Or a life. Or maybe both.

And if your money is burning that much of a hole in your pocket, I will be glad to help you out by taking it off your hands for you. Anything to help out a friend.

I used to watch a toy channel that reviewed every kind of fidget spinner that came out.

Whee! Bright colors and moving things!!

Er... You could see why I was hooked. But I never actually bought one myself.

I'd actually been thinking of buying one of those... Bubble pop toys?

But the only ones I've come across are very low quality, resulting in "squishing" the bubble rather than actually feeling like you're popping it. 😢

no, just use the bubble wrap that comes free with your amazon/online purchases.

It's a sensory modulation thing that often autistic children use to stop fidgeting/chewing on their pens/clicking on them and annoying the teacher.

Or cracking your knuckles

I can find a use for most things, I was born in the land of number 8 wire...kiwi engenuity they call it. But we also try to keep a lot of predatory animals and insects out because biosecurity. This is to stop things from eating our birds/kiwis/fruit causing native extinction and thus extinguishing our creativity.

I tell you, New Zealand is the greatest land to ever exist. :D And no one is paying me to write this

If you want to avoid plastic waste...but still need satisfying pops

popcorn and rice bubbles

Yup, but once the bubbles are popped, that's it.

The whole selling point with bubble pop toys is that you can just turn it over and re-pop the bubbles indefinitely (or until they rip through.) Plus, they come in fun colors and shapes (who could resist a unicorn-shaped bubble pop toy!)

I also very rarely order things, and these days (at least with the things I order in the USA,) the fillers are usually just plain brown paper, packing peanuts, or large air-filled pockets, which aren't nearly as fun to pop.

Bubble wrap has gotten too expensive to be used on a large-scale, and the companies I order from very rarely use it.

Yeah, after all this time, there probably aren't many subjects that HAVEN'T had entire threads dedicated to them...

Ok, GG, as Lynx would say, I "double dog dare you" to start trolling these threads with a little more oomph!!

Put your back into it, now!!

Grow some swan plants, then stomp on the seed pods (the swans)
They make a satisfying pop, loud too

The swan plants attract and are food for monarch butterflies and caterpillars..but the invasive wasps have been eating them all this season, so I've hardly seen any butterflies 🦋

I've got the power...hydro power too

We banned nuclear power in New Zealand even though one of ours, Ernest Rutherford, was the first to split the atom

I tell you its the greatest land to ever exist...on the face of this earth :D

Now unicorns...do they exist, or only plastic bubble pop versions of them?

Ok if not from amazon, and not temu, where are you gonna buy them from?
$2 shop? BYO not plastic bag?

I don't know about you, but where I live, we have real live things called stores.

These mythical places even have toys, like the bubble pop ones I'm talking about! You can actually touch them and test them out before you buy!

Unthinkable, I know!

This is just my own personal choice but I don't buy from places like Temu or Wish or Shein. No worries to anyone who does, I just don't want to shop at those places.

I do buy things from Amazon and online and I know a good amount comes from China anyways, but it's not about being from China for me.

I just feel more comfortable with Amazon's customer service.

And I personally don't buy things online that I can get locally if possible, so I don't shop online very much.

I know it's not much, but for me, it's part of trying to support local businesses.
