Done. We believe our own way about dreams doing things in our live. Thankfully, we all believe in God.

Good strong opinión, lightning, I am not gotten on you from that. Your dreams' opinions are yours, that's fine. The Lord leads us all, we need to choose to believe what we want from Him on our walks of this earthly life, perfecting our faith and work because God says we will never complete our work on Earth. Although ,
Jesus finished His, we never will finish ours.

So, that is to say, we will say forevermore our points on Earth to others, whatever we do, and, never win. Only God wins. Well, He's already win, but, that's all, God bless you, bro :)

Relena, and, snackersmommy, very well said points, I admire ladies that speak their heart from Him inside their hearts, holding true to what they believe is truth through their belief in the Truth, the Way, and, the Life . :)

And to the OP: I would be extremely careful about saying with certainty that something was absolutely from God, especially if you were a new Christian when it happened. It takes an awful lot for me to be positive that a word was from Him. It says in the bible that, while we're on Earth, we see through a veil.
But to answer your original question, I believe that yes, you can "mess things up" and step out of God's will. You still have free will, so you don't have to follow God's plan for your life (if that's what was truly in the dream).

I hear where your coming from, but as a christian of 16 years now, there has never been question in my mind about whether the dream was from God, i am absolutely certain. Just like Im absolutely certain what the presence of God sounds like and when He speaks. But in saying that I dont presume to know everything about it, and I definately dont box God in with how He will or has used it in my life.

Haha yes name and face. And if after 4 years of being a Christian I didnt deviate off the path into years of drug abuse and going my own way, I have no doubt that He would have cause us to meet.

How about Daniels dreams, God revealed His will and plans for the future in dreams and visions from Genesis to Revelation. All the things Jesus did could not be contained in all of the books in the whole earth, nor could all that God has done and said to His people OT and NT and today. The bible documents the things important to the plan of God on the earth, not personal revelations to people about their individual lives. God showed paul that He would go to Jerusalem, among many other things, and this information is in the bible out of necessity as a witness of Gods works. If God showed paul something personal, which Im sure He did continuosly, it would not be included in the letters to the churched or in the book of Acts. I believe God communicates to us on a personal level as well as things that are meant to edify the body ie in a church setting. Whether by prohetic word, vision, dream, audible voice, impression, etc etc.
