The Lord does not tell us to sit in isolation on a mountain chanting "I have faith", yet not believing a word Christ tells us about how to live enough to do one thing Christ tells us to do.

James expressed it well.

James said " every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights"

what would be the ultimate good and perfect gift? salvation.

salvation is gift obtained by faith.

not a wage to earn by doing good works.

no, you are quoting verses without taking context into consideration . then you misinterpret them.

i have no issue with The Lord. i have issue with legalists like you trying to add to " believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved."

one is saved by belief, not good behavior.
You are always free to look up the context of verses that are quoted;

And I believe that it is a general rule of hermeneutics that the context is never going to contradict the plain meaning of any passage that is in question.

Does Jesus add to "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved," in Matthew 7? specifically, in verses 15-20, 21-23, and 24-27?

Please note that I gave you the entire chapter to read so that you cannot accuse me of isolating verses. Perhaps you should also read chapters 5 and 6 as that is the entire context of the whole Sermon.

I think you need more information about this subject in order to make conclusions that are correct.

First, whether demons are involved in illness is a completely different subject. We are discussing occult activity that people have chosen.

Next, if you will study what exorcists have learned, demons possess people who have accepted some sins as OK in their life. Fear has nothing to do with this.

An expert who has worked with this says the problem needs experts to determine whether a person is physically ill or has a demon. It is not something you or I can determine about a person, we are not doctors.

To rid a person of a demon is no walk in the park. Christ said some take prayer and fasting to get rid of some. Mark 9:29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
well Blik, you are the one who brought up the person with the illness and I responded to that

so what would you like? would you like me to apologize to you for responding to what you actually wrote?

FYI, I have worked with people who were needing help in the realm of the demonic and have had success in Jesus name and I don't render stories about it here so do not expect any

suffice it to say I am not just blowing smoke and God knows I have had to learn the hard way in my own life

actually it can be quite simple for a demon to leave. demons lie 24/7 so you should not discuss anything with them either

I will just let you ramble on since you have acquired a need to correct me all the time :giggle:

Has it been prophesied over you that you have the gift of discernment?

It has been prophesied over me that I have the gifts both of teaching and word of wisdom.

And I am commanded to wage the good warfare using the prophecies that have been laid over me.

I think that the reality is that my teaching convicts you and that is why you are inclined to reject it.
I never said I had the gift of discernment but there is more than one kind of discernment

there is also the kind you grow into just by living in this world

but again, I did not claim I had the gift of discernment. I was disputing your claim to be a teacher

I don't care if Moses prophesied over you. God would have rebuked him. and soundly too.

And of course, that is not my claim. My claim was that they are not incorrect simply because they quote scripture.

And of course, the scripture is always correct, so if the scripture quoted substantiates the claim, then the claim would therefore be correct.
you don't actually know what you wrote, do you...(rhetorical question and not expecting an answer)

you spin so much you loose track of the meaning and you can claim Florida for Spain LOL!

You are convicted by my teaching and your only recourse, in order to fend off the conviction of the Holy Spirit, is to reject my posts as being in error.
my stomach convicts me if I eat too much spicy food

you, on the other hand, create nonsense and then defend like Don Quixote tilting at win

If the claim that they are making is truly substantiated by holy scripture, then I do not disagree with them.
I have seen a fair amount of twisting and taking verses out of context in this forum but you just may surpass them all

I believe that you have entered into the realm of being in denial.
can't be. I don't see you anywhere and I know you would be there, visible to all

Sophie is mistaken in some of her assumptions, and we need to see this problem clearly, not muddled.

She relates fear to demon possession, that is not so. Demon possession has to do with accepting sin as OK.

She is mixing physical illness with demon possession, and this should not be done. There is a clear difference between mental illness and demon possession, and we have professionals who can make that diagnosis.
Sophie has actually helped quite a few who had issues with the demonic

you?

This is too serious a problem in our world for people to shoot off their mouth about without any backup. It is like quacks pretending to be doctors.

then don't do it.

Do you think your faith is right if it stops at realizing Christ can save, or would it be so that if you had complete faith in Christ you would not disregard what Christ tells us about how to live?

Works are not wages paid by Christ, works are the result of faith.

James says that faith that is so slight it does not result in how we live is dead.

I am not "shooting off my mouth". I am reporting on what I have learned from many hours upon hours of study of the subject. Why are you shooting off your mouth?

I know I'm butting in here, but I couldn't help but bring this scripture to bear.

2Co 11:6, But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

I truly don't mean to be rude. I find you have made some conclusions about this subject that do not seem to be based on gathering facts about it and I would like to point that out. It seems reasonable to me when I can back my statements up with study I have done.

How can I do that in a kind way? You have a right to your opinions, we should be able to respect that and discuss the subject without involving you and I as people. I would like to say you are mistaken, but a wonderful person completely separate and not to be judged. I am judged as a rude person, and I certainly don't like that. I hope it is not so.

actually you have made conclusions about me based on past interactions, your own persuasions and just plain miscomprehension of what I wrote

I think it best to just drop this exchange. thank you

If I have made any conclusions about you that isn't such as concluding you are a Christian, then I did it unknowingly. I don't even remember now what I felt you said that was not accurate. I so wish I could take your hurt away if it could be done without my giving up my integrity.

I thought my study of demons was worthwhile, posters here seem to think it was worthless. I am told you personally worked with handling demons. I only studied what doctors or accepted experts and scripture told me about the subject.

That seems to be the case.
Lets try to be kind to everybody. We will have regrets in eternity if we do anything less.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
