let's just say he's a Troll and ignore him because it's obvious he's going to continue spouting about something he knows nothing about.

BOTH are to submit to the authority who is in one another "Jesus Christ"
I'm looking through the lenses of your point of view .. Wich puts me in a mans place looking at his wife ..
This is what I see...
I see Jesus in her , and from what your saying .. I'm going to tell Jesus " I'm going to protect you " ...
The other thing I see is, I'm telling jesus "in her" I have authority over you , and Jesus it is you who is to be submissive to me and my authority...
Now after taking those lenses off.. Im asking myself .. Can I protect Jesus? And is Jesus suppose to be in submission to me?
I would really have to reconsider my answers again if I said yes ...
But you are entitled to your belief , I'm certainly not trying to persuade you to believe differently .. but make sure before you stick to it .. You compare that truth to all God says about it instead of just one scripture, and call it biblical
I appreciate you sharing your view .. We are all learning![]()
I appreciate your courage .. that is biblical as well![]()
so my question is .. How will you handle your wife When she doesn't do this ?
"So, how does God feel about people who watch sinful TV shows? How does God feel about women who go to clubs in short skirts? Women might think they're doing no harm, but how does God see it?"
First Stephen,I'd ask God how he feels about you being so rude to CC members leelee & MissCris for sharing their thoughts & opinions on a subject you asked people to. Not even until page 4 of this thread would you just give a hard example of what the heck you were rambling on about possessiveness vs protectiveness. IMO (and you can feel free to ignore me or tell me to jump off a cliff),but it seems to me that you have some serious issues you need to allow Jesus in & heal in your heart before you keep spouting off about how christian married men & women are supposed to "submit or act" within their union under God. It's clear you have no clue as how to have a healthy relationship with the opposite sex yet.
I won't have to handle her, because I never plan on getting married.
I'll pray for you.
Thanks!...just make sure they are blessings & not curses.I'll pray for you.
dunno how valuble it was..but ty anyways MissCris. lolEveryone can use more prayers.
However... he just gave you some valuable advice. And you don't really deserve it. Maybe "Thank you, sir" would be a better response.
The Bible also says the husband is the head and that the wife is to submit in everything. One reason why so many Christian men are choosing to stay single is because women don't want to obey their roles. They want a husband whose willing to die for them, but they're not willing to submit to his authority. This is why staying single is the best thing for men to do. In heaven EVERYONE will obey!
Stephen, you sound like someone who has been deeply hurt by relationships or the opposite sex. Maybe you watched a marriage crumble, maybe your parents had an unhealthy relationship, or maybe you've had bad experiences in relationships yourself. When you wrote about how people should just simply obey God's commands... It sounded like you were talking to someone in your own life. As if you were saying, "Yeah, if so-and-so had, or would just obey God's commands... (I would not be as hurt as I am.)" Whatever you've been through to sound so bitter and cynical, I'm sorry.
But maybe... talk to us... don't preach to us or criticize or assume we're all doing horribly wrong things, ok? Get to know us, let us get to know you.
We might just become your friends. And there is nothing Biblical about that.
Everyone can use more prayers.

You've gotten 5 pages of replies, all doing a pretty good job at explaining how yes, a woman is to submit to her husband AND the husband is to love her as Christ loved the church. Demanding submissiveness and forcing your wife to do everything you want is not how Christ loves. It also takes away the point of being submissive. Submissiveness is voluntary, it is an act of giving someone else trust. Trust that they have prayed about each decision they are making in that position of authority (and that they are also praying WITH their wife), trust that they have the wife's interest in mind, as well as the marriage unit.
Women are to submit whether their husbands are loving or not, and men are to love even when their wives aren't submitting. It doesn't say "Women, submit when your husband is perfect and loving all the time" or "Husbands, love your wives but only when they are submitting and not being stubborn." Now, we aren't to submit to sin or just let things slide, but that's the point of working together as one unit. One has authority, but how is he going to use it? One has the job of being a helping warrior, but how will she use it?
God does not tell husbands to hold their wives under their thumb, because "I'm the head of the household and you must listen to me, woman!"![]()
