Hi, look I'm not trying to cause division, I can understand what you are saying but what concerns me...truly... is the risk of getting the attitude of ...well I'm saved I can now live my life freely and sin freely...and not care.
That's what I'm worried about.

Why would you worry about that? No born again child of God would even think that, Licentious attitudes are not from God, nor are they in his children, Jude said these people were condemned before they were born, Because they have turned the grace of God into licentiousness.

These people have never been saved, their pride is to steep. But legalism is not the answer either, thats like going from one bad grape to another.. One end of the spectrum to the other.. Lets meet God halfway why don't we?

Because I look seriously at Paul when he says in Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

I would like to hear your opinion
GOD bless

If we have to work, we have no liberty, People can take advantage of liberty, I agree, in certain areas.. But what does it prophet them? Pain and suffering? Not to mention the chastening of God?

Paul is not talking about one losing salvation, He is talking about them losing a life God wants to give them, and being able to use them,

Certain topics are hashed out everyday in the BDF. Apparently, some things never change.

Yeah which is why I dont believe in this ''I am going to go to heaven 100%'' thing because that opens the door to satan
I disagree, If we know we have eternal life, Satan has no power over us,, If we fall down, we can get back up. Because satan can not defeat us.

Legalism gives satan power. because you can never know.. thus you start working for merit, and not out of gratitude. which takes away from the power of God. it becomes self will work, and not God powered work.

and Jesus made clear that he will have to tell people ''I do not know you''

see how you can change the words of God slightly and change the whole meaning of what he said, Did not eve do this when Satan deceived her?

While God did say he does not know you, he actually said he never knew us at all. there was never a relationship.

Saying I just "do not know you: means you may have had a relationship at one time (been saved) but somehow that relationship was broken (but you lost your salvation)

Saying what Jesus actually said "I never knew you" can not be misinterpreted, it means you never had a relationship. You never had salvation to lose.

Besides I know very much what is from God and what is not. This legalistic view of '' Once saved always saved'' is one of those things from Satan aswell.
Once saved always saved is not legalism, it is the exact opposite of legalism. Now you worry me even more sis.

Legalism is earning your way to heaven,

OSAS is recieving the gift of eternal life, and trusting God that he will keep his promise, even though you know you will never meet his condition (perfection)

In knowing the believer has "security" in Christ leads to "maturity"....just the same as it does it all relationships.

I personally believe the doctrine of losing your salvation because of sin except for the willful sin of refusing Christ's sacrifice on our behalf - has caused great harm to the body of Christ on a few levels.

It breeds insecurity and puts one on the hamster wheel of religion and is a performance driven theology that actually denies the work of Christ on the cross and resurrection. It is finished! We need to repent and believe the gospel just like Jesus said.

Mark 1:15 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

Gospel means "to good to be true good news..." The thing about news is ...news is something that has already happened.

Actually thats what has happened to me lately...I felt like I was really being chastened for certain faults I have.
I mean everything is going well now because I've asked GOD to help me with my weaknesses...thats why I had questions about certain verses in the Bible, because of the trials I was going through.

Thanks for your reply...I appreciate it.
GOD bless

why keep on going if I have it?
At first blush I thought sounds like a question that hardly merits an answer. Then I considered the answer and decided to put it in terms that could be understood.

The answer is of course love. Born again Christians love the Lord Jesus. We act the way we do because we love Him. I kissed my wife the day we were married. Why kiss her again? Yeah that answer is obvious. Now I'm of German descent and I used to tease her that I told her once that I loved her and if I changed my mind I would let her know. We tell our family we love them over and over again because it pleases them to hear it no matter how many times we say it.

How much more then do we serve the Lord Who bought us with His blood. Imagine that insignificant little me can delight Christ the God of Eternity when I tell Him I love Him.

I like to use the father son relationship as an example..Although yours is great, and only gives us more examples to use..

in mine I think this

What son would want to go against a father who continuously loves him every minute of every day inspire of his soms failings, and never lets his son down.

I can see a son going against a father who pushes and pushes and never gives him anything, and only gives conditional love,

but not one who never lets him down and shows unconditional love.

I spoke with a woman this morning who's husband died yesterday. Her exact words were:

"I used to have faith, but a lifetime of excruciating hardships, one after another, has caused me to doubt to the point that I no longer have faith. I look forward to talking with you again so you will understand my views and perhaps you can help me once again believe."

Make of it what you will; I believe God will be merciful to a person who wants to believe.
My question to her would be, "What did you have faith in?"

It seems the big problem is too many teach the follow-God-and-everything-is-hunky-dory christianity. It' not Biblical Christianity. The only thing I see as a common theme for people in the Bible is "trust God and life isn't going to be easy."

I believe God will give belief to whom he saves.

Good point, How can God claim to be an all loving all merciful God, Then adopt a child into his family, because that child had faith, And allow that child who is saved to live long enough and in a way that that salvation would cease to exist, and the child would stop being his child, but revert back to his enemy.

Not much of a loving God is it?
God doesn't adopt people who have faith. He adopts and then gifts the faith.

The problem is Jesus never taught one can lose their Salvation. Its those who cannot understand what the Holy Spirit says that believe they need to HOLD on or WORK for their Salvation.

We can lose our Rewards in Heaven by the things we do. Not our Salvation. And yes God will allow us to sin all we want and still keep our Salvation.

We received our Salvation by Grace from God and Faith from God. We did not receive Salvation by being Baptized like HRFTD teaches. We did not receive Salvation by holding on to Jesus like HRFTD teaches. All those who believe in Jesus receive Salvation. All those who do not believe in Jesus do not receive Salvation.

But yet there are those like HRFTD who want to deceive us into believing we need to do something physical like holding on and being Baptized to receive Salvation.

Look at the prodigal son. He turned his back on God to live the sinful life, but yet God accepted him back into the fold when he returned to Him.

Peoples, its not about working for our Salvation and its not about holding onto our Salvation! Its all about walking with God and being with God, and enjoying our time with God that matters, not our sins! NO one not even HRFTD will ever stop sinning! We have sinned and we will continue to sin. This is our fallen nature and we cannot change it.

But by the Blood of Jesus we have been forgiven for ALL our sins, past, present, and Future! The sins you will do tomorrow have already been washed clean by the Blood of Jesus. We have been cleansed of our sins we will do tomorrow!
So, seriously? Is your gospel message about what God does or about what HRFTD does? Because you just spent much more time talking about HR than God there.

(Why do so many spend so much time explaining HR? Is this a compulsion? Or is there really this much fear that everyone else is going to fall off the face of the planet if we don't catch HR's thoughts just right? One of the things I have to work at is not talking down to my readers when writing. Particularly hard, since my fiction is aimed for the 8-12 years old crowd. I've learned to trust they can think for themselves even at their age. Why can't others assume the same for people on this site, particular since no one is that young?)

We are dependent on mercy and grace. Theres never a 100% knowing yes. Even David wasn't sure. how many say oh Lord I did this and this in your name and Jesus says: I do not know you.

I think that I will be with God but I will not say Im on the boat. Judgement day hasnt come yet
No. Honest. I'm 100% sure. Took me 30 years in the Lord to get there, but, honest. I really am 100% sure now. (And I'm pretty sure David hit that point eventually. I suspect he wasn't there with that Bathsheba incident, but it takes a while.)

It depends what MikeHenderson means by believe. If he means trust there is no problem with what he said. If he believe in just an intellectual sense then there is a problem. God bless.
It never was my belief that saved me. It was God's belief. My belief rises and falls faster than a roller coaster on steroids. (LOL Trying to imagine injecting metal with steroids.

Well I rather go with what Jesus says instead of John.
I dont even see why your asking this question. I know he exists and that hes with me. I want to make it and will strive for it. If i know I got it i can lean back and stop doing good stuff and all.
Jesus is God. The entire Bible is inspired (God breathed.) Therefore, if it's in there, even if John wrote the words, they are Jesus's words.

As for leaning back and not doing good stuff? Ahhh, man! The deal is way to good. God LOVES us! How can we resist not loving him back? It would be easier for me to lean back and do nothing if my stomach is growling and you put me in a room of brownies with raspberries in them. The brownies are a goner. Doing what God wants me to do is better than that!
