according to Stan the man its not fire.... It's something else. Could be getting stuck in a boat fishing with your mother in law.
You definitely are in the wrong thread. I think you're looking for the "Failed Comics" thread.

Would that be fresh water or saltwater fishing? I find being in a boat a rather good experience. :D

Im sorry you don't find me funny. Having twigs stuck up certain places will do that to a man. Canadians are usually pretty funny too. Guess there are exceptions to rules.

How about you make a point and stop being condescending?
...and yet that's not the end!

It goes somewhere.

What happens next?

See this is where you folks fail.

You think that's the 'end of the story'?

NO!

Those that are cast into the Lake go THROUGH IT.

There is a bunch of stuff that happens after the Lake people.

Quit parroting you Pastors and GET READING!

So what have we learned? Hell is not really that bad? I have had talks with the Lord. I do not want to go to hell. I would not mind if you would just destroy my soul and spirit as if I never existed. These scriptures you posted are comforting Magenta.
Thank you, and you are welcome. I am glad you find comfort in the revealed written Word of God. God is not the monster many make Him out to be. He is loving and just and merciful and long suffering. However, there will come a time as in the days of Noah when the end shall come, and the doors will close, and those not written in the Lamb's book of life shall perish- they will be utterly destroyed, just as Scripture says. We know people deny their knowledge of God due to pride of life, and that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Praise God that He pursued me long enough I was finally able to lay down my opposition to Him. I was quite stubbornly set against Him, but His loving kindness won me over. And fear. Yes, I finally feared Him, to know His absolute power. Foolish are they who do not fear One Who has all power. He holds the power of life and death in His hands. But perfect love has cast out fear. Now I wish everyone knew His love...

It may have been shared but here it is again.
The fact is that eternal fire does not mean a fire that will never go out. The same expression is used in Jude 7 concerning the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha. "Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."

It is quite obvious that Sodom is not still burning today. The Dead Sea rolls over the place where those ancient cities once stood. Yet they burned with "eternal fire," and we are told that it was an example of something. What is it an example of? "And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly." 2 Peter 2:6.

There it is! That eternal fire which brought Sodom to ashes is an example of what will finally happen to the wicked. If this text is true, the same kind of fire that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrha will also burn the wicked in the lake of fire. Does that mean it will also burn the wicked to ashes?
