Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Matt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Plain and simple.
No need to add to it.

See? He will gather them...But there is no catching up....No meeting Him in the air.

Psa 102:7 I watch, [SUP]H8245[/SUP]  and am [SUP]H1961[/SUP]  as a sparrow [SUP]H6833[/SUP]  alone [SUP]H909[/SUP]  upon [SUP]H5921[/SUP]  the house top. [SUP]H1406[/SUP]

Watch:
[h=1]H8245[/h]שָׁקַד
shâqad
shaw-kad'
A primitive root; to be alert, that is, sleepless; hence to be on the lookout (whether for good or ill): - hasten, remain, wake, watch (for).

sparrow:

[h=1]H6852[/h]צָפַר
tsâphar
tsaw-far'
A primitive root; to skip about, that is, return: - depart early.

housetop:

[h=1]H1406[/h]גָּג
gâg
gawg
Probably by reduplication from H1342; a roof; by analogy the top of an altar: - roof (of the house), (house) top (of the house).

[h=1]H1342[/h]גָּאָה
gâ'âh
gaw-aw'
A primitive root; to mount up; hence in general to rise, (figuratively) be majestic: - gloriously, grow up, increase, be risen, triumph.

Dont fall asleep.

I'm curious. How many of you throwing around these "Sun, moon, and stars" verses actually think Jesus was talking about astronomy and orbiting spheres up in the sky?

You are reaching now.
Really? Read Matt 24 again...He comes back with His bride. Look here at what goes with it. Jude 1:14: Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,” For it says in Ps 68:17: “ The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands; the Lord [has come] from Sinai into his sanctuary”.

Brother it's just best to let them believe whatever they want it's a never ending cycle & becomes a waste of time tbh

Matt 24 teaches me that at that point the tribulation is over, Jesus comes back, with His Bride, gathers his people, and sets up a thousand years reign in the Earth. It teaches me that if you and I are here at that time we've missed the rapture, missed being the bride. We get to live with Him but not as the bride,
Here is what I see.
Jesus said we would not be subject to God's wrath.
But some teach that the time of tribulation is God's wrath, which is not true.
Two different words with two different meanings.
Down through the ages, men, even children of God have suffered tribulation.
Jesus said in Matthew 24 that certain events would come to pass and then a time of "great tribulation" like never before.
This "great tribulation" is described in the seals and trumps.
The ungodly men of this time will believe it is God's wrath and they say so in Rev.6.
Please note who makes this claim in Rev. 6.
But God's wrath is announced from Heaven at the seventh trump when Jesus returns. It will be poured out after Matthew 24: 29-31 takes place.
We will not suffer the wrath of God, but we, like saints before us suffer tribulation.
Some will die. But God will protect those he chooses to bring through those times just like he has in the past and as He will protect Israel during this time.

We do not have to be "raptured" before the time of tribulation in order to escape God's wrath.

What verse is the bride mentioned in?

Look at it this way.....If nobody is caught up, who are the people riding with Jesus when he comes? And then read Revelation 19
Thanks for the friendly discussion.
It's my bed time.
