I am currently in a state of salvation.. If i died now i would have eternity with God..
John 5:24 - Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Methinks, in your poll you are mixing Salvation verses Election, which would make it a 2 fold question. (just read the poll...haven't read any posts as yet..lol) To which I would answer no, to the first, and yes, to the second.

Many believers believe they become "elect", as soon as they confess Jesus Christ as their High Priest n Kinsmen Redeemer. They would be in error in this belief!

Even the Apostle Paul differentiated this, in 1 of his letters, when he mentioned "keeping one's election assured" Notice, he didn't mention Salvation. Why?....Cause there is a difference! And no? Being baptized for 10 years gets one no closer to being an elect, then, driving your car to the grocery store, with the key in the ignition, and the motor ain't running. If one doesn't press on, and turn the key? You ain't going nowheres! Doesn't mean you ain't in the car, though!

(now, I'll go n read some answers...lol)

Amen EG. It is sad that anyone would think that the sacrifice of Jesus, the love of the Father and the sealing of the Holy Spirit are not enough.
Ok well i just read through all the answers since i last posted...

Same as always... im a liar i dont think i have enough... im sad... im this and that...

No i do believe being sealed with the spirit is enough,, where as you just like putting words in my mouth...

I believe where saved and can be saved until the day of judgment for all... i also believe that being saved is a type of salvation,,, but not the final icing on the cake... why would hoping for the final icing on the cake be sad... where instructed to do this by the word of truth..

Where instructed to many many things to stay near to God and not to grieve the spirit,,, in the last days many will abandon there faith,,, and even the mighty have allready fallen,, many will fall away.... many will grow old and bitter,,, many will grow old and mean,, and complain all the time,,, many people will abandon there faith,,, as many are doing on this thread for not hoping for salvation and to be on the right side of God,,, daily by praying the lords prayer,,, to give you your daily bread and to deliver you from evil,,, the saved will recieve approval comfirmation on that day of judgement,, they will recieve there due then,,,, and nor befor,,, it is you and your followers who are sad for not believing in the truth of clear instruction to put on the helmet of hope for salvation,,,(the final reward)...

Yes your saved and at this mment you have eternal life,,, but come to morrow you could get angry and kill someone... and then lie about it so you dont face your due.... it is really that simple.. your not a perfectionist... you have perfected your flesh... you will fall away at some point,,, and if you dont hope daily and die to self daily and pray you may just fall hard with a bang.

I didn't call you a liar nor did I say YOU were sad. Believe as you wish but I know who I believe and He is able to keep me. You don't have children do you? A parent knows children are foolish and make mistakes but will Never abandon them but in love seek them out like the Good Shepard does His lost sheep. No need to be angry brother.

well if you say so LOL

No i do believe being sealed with the spirit is enough,, where as you just like putting words in my mouth...
surely if you are sealed by the Spirit until the day of redemption (Ep 4.30)that means that God keeps you until that day.

I believe where saved and can be saved until the day of judgment for all.
If God has saved you, you are saved until the end. Otherwise God hasn't saved you

.. i also believe that being saved is a type of salvation,,, but not the final icing on the cake..
But being saved BY GOD is the guarantee of final salvation, the final icing on the cake is just the conclusion of the job. Otherwise He hasn't saved at all, He has just tried -- and failed..

. why would hoping for the final icing on the cake be sad... where instructed to do this by the word of truth..
It is a certain hope.

We're instructed to many many things to stay near to God and not to grieve the spirit,
and so we should

,,
in the last days many will abandon there faith,
because they haven't truly believed

,,
and even the mighty have allready fallen,
and God has picked them up again

, many will fall away.... many will grow old and bitter,,, many will grow old and mean,, and complain all the time,,, many people will abandon there faith,,,
many will be nominal and not real

as many are doing on this thread for not hoping for salvation and to be on the right side of God,,, daily by praying the lords prayer,,, to give you your daily bread and to deliver you from evil,,, the saved will recieve approval comfirmation on that day of judgement,, they will recieve there due then,,,, and nor befor,,
But if they are the saved they WILL receive it

, it is you and your followers who are sad for not believing in the truth of clear instruction to put on the helmet of hope for salvation,,,(the final reward)...
well I am wearing the helmet of the certain hope of salvation,

Yes your saved and at this mment you have eternal life,,, but come to morrow you could get angry and kill someone... and then lie about it so you dont face your due.... it is really that simple.. your not a perfectionist... you have perfected your flesh... you will fall away at some point,,, and if you dont hope daily and die to self daily and pray you may just fall hard with a bang.
I will fall, but I will not be utterly cast down, for the Lord upholds me with His hand, for He has promised I WILL NEVER EVER PERISH (John 10.27-29). He has promised of those given to Him He will LOSE NOTHING (John 6.39)

Now if the above scripture does not make you reconise that ther is a harvest to come for you then the truth is not in you and you will need to hope for this harvest to come your way for your good works of hope for salvation,, in blessin his that he blesses you for showing them this hope..

If we are saved we have salvation, that is the message of Romans. Because He has died we are saved from wrath and its consequences. Rom 5.1-10.

Romans 2:6-10New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]8 [/SUP]But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
If one reads Romans 2:6-10 in isolation from the rest of the book of Romans, one might conclude that Paul was teaching salvation by works. However, as you read and study these passages, it is imperative to keep in mind that these verses do not describe how one becomes saved, but the way the saved conduct their lives. These works done are the result of, not the means or basis of receiving salvation.

So patient continuance in well doing, seeking for glory, honor, and immortality; (vs. 7) is not at all set forth as the means of their procuring eternal life, but as a description of those to whom God does render life eternal.

Notice that ALL who receive eternal life are described as such, everyone who does good (vs. 10). Good deeds flow from a heart that is saved and evil deeds flow from a heart that is unsaved. Verse 8 - but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath. Notice that ALL who do not receive eternal life are described as such, everyone who does evil (vs. 9).

What those passages convey is that though our deeds are judged by God, it's not the good deeds themselves which are the basis or means of receiving salvation, but the type of deeds expose whether our heart was saved, or not.

LOL this is part of his argument to show that we have all sinned and come under condemnation,
no not at all... this me showing that we are free from the law because we follow the spirit...a (works).... works of the spirit......and we use the works of the word to be doers of the word and not just hearers of the word...

For the word is mightier than two edged sword.. and stronger than the whole world... the word has the power to tare down walls,, to overcome strong holds of the enemy... the enemy word is not to follow christ... the enemies word is to say,,, we dont need to follow,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,because where the done deal............not......

give us today are daily bread..:)

Give us today are new way...

all the doo dar day..................................DAILY........ .............................................

Should we hope for salvation if where saved... yes or no........

I dont want to take anyones hope of salvation away but i would like for people to hope for salvation.

(Matthew 24:13) "But he who shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved."

(my interpratation of this we can be saved until the end but salvation comes at the end..

(Mark 16:16 RPT) "He who believed and was baptised shall be saved;"(Ahain it speaks of being saved untill the end but doesnt include salvation.

(Acts 15:11) "But we believe that through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they."

Again this saying you are saved your on the right path so to speak..

(Romans 13:11) "for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

"Of course it is because youve excepted Jesus but please note this mentions nearer meaning your salvation hasnt been declared yet..

(you are to hope and pray for it.)

(Philippians 2:12) "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

(keep the faith).

(1 Peter 1:5 RPT) "Who are being kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.".

(this scipture well and truly points out you can be saved until the end but salvation isnt for us to decide rather we are to work out are own salvation without fear or trembling.. and for me there is only one way to work this out and that is as long as you keep the faith and dont abandon it then your salvation is nearer to the end..

As you can all see that he that endureth to the end is truly saved (salvation..)
Well, Jimbone...

You can only cause those who are not secure in the Word to quiver and shake in fear. For all these scriptures are pointing to this one thing...the salvation of our soul.

~1Pe 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. And even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,

1Pe 1:9 because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Our joy comes from being secure in Him...knowing our spirit has been sealed with His (Fathers) stamp of approval...the signet of the King...and we have been placed in His Son.

But!!!

Our souls are in a process of salvation. Our souls are not our spirits. Spirit, soul, and body. A triune being made in the image of the Godhead.

Remain IN HIM> there is the hope of our salvation...and the source of the fruit of His being...in Him.
