The faith is dead without the works according to the faith.

Our dear brother James

13.For judgment is without mercy to him that hath showed no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment. 14. What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him? 15. If a brother or sister be naked and in lack of daily food, 16. and one of you say unto them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and yet ye give them not the things needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17. Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. (James 2:13-17)
I believe that anyone that is saved would not leave a person to go without and would help them.
If not, I believe they were not saved to begin with.
If you do not have the heart to help someone, that is not love > therefore not from God > therefore not saved.

Yes Ella, something like that, that if we truly believe that God is forgiving our own sins, we most likely show some generous mercy for the others.

Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. (James 2:13-17)

Jesus said in John 6:29 that our works are to believe on Jesus.
This is consistent with Christ's commandment, John 3:16.
It's consistent with God's will, John 6:40.

And how is the works of believing on Jesus seen?
James 2:14-17
If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Consider that scripture is spiritually discerned (1Cor 2:14), and thus read it from a spiritual perspective.
If we read it in physical terms then we'll misunderstand just as Nicodemus did in thinking that "born-again" meant one had to re-enter into their mother's womb.

Who are the hungry that James 2 speaks of?
It's the lost, the spiritually hungry who lack Christ our spiritual food.

1Cor 10:3,4
all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

And who are the naked James 2 speaks of?
It's the lost, the spiritually naked who lack the robes of righteousness.

Isa 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with therobe of righteousness,

Our works are to believe on Jesus, as Jesus himself said in John 6:29.

And if we believe on Jesus, having such a great light within us, then we would naturally declare the gospel to the lost (the spiritually hungry and naked) professing Jesus before man, so that they also may have Christ the spiritual food and also be clothed with the robe of righteousness, the garment of salvation.

Matt 5:14-16
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see YOUR GOOD WORKS, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

These are the works that shows our faith which James 2:14-17 speaks of.

Believe what first then repent? Matthew 21:32 - For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him. Mark 1:15 - Repent and believe the gospel. Acts 20:21 - testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Are you suggesting that we should reverse this scriptural order?
let me take a look at those scriptures that you posted because now I am confused because when I got saved I believed first and I started repenting and I realized that I was wrong but I would never have repented in truth if I had not believed first.

Did God save us or did we save ourselves?

Just a thought.

Let's just go to scripture and see what Paul said to Timothy;

1 Timothy 4:16

Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.

since faith comes by hearing...when you first hear the word it is believe and repent because I must first tell you what to believe and why you must repent...if you did not do it then the order would be reversed when I tell you the next time...since you already heard the word I can now say repent and believe....because faith comes by hearing the word so you already know what you would be repenting of...and what you should be believing....

Expound on salvation is by God alone:

God is the Savior of humanity, left to our own wisdom and power all perish, but what is impossible for us to,accomplish,
God has already accomplished in Jesus Christ. We did nothing to save ourselves, Jesus Christ saved all humanity by his death and resurrection.

We are called to accept (believe) the gospel and turn away (repent) from the world, we are called to obey Jesus Christ and die with him that we might live with him forever.

God By himself has saved everyone, those who accept his grace reap eternal life.

The mind of the flesh is for dead, and the mind of the Spirit is for life.

And every man has this mind of the flesh in beginning, because it is the mind which has come by doing the thing according man's own heart desire's, but when the man start to turn him self to the will of God, and bend himself to believe and do things according to the Spirit, and against the old mind of the flesh, then the mind of the flesh in time will mortify, and the mind of the Spirit will replace it, but this all do not happen like instantly, but it could take even year, or years.

And finally when the man had that mind of the Spirit, he truly knows God and the old man is gone, and there is a new creation, born in above, and not from the world.
