How you interpret about women in church guys I suffer about that a lot even left first church partly because of that that you think?
Based on all you have posted in this thread so far I don't think you really care what we think I think you are trying to prove women should be treated like second class citizens and should not talk and should hide their faces which isn't even a Christian belief the hiding of the faces is an Islamic belief and the reason the woemn have to hide their faces is because it's shameful not too which doesn't sound like my God at all.

I grow weary of ppl who for some reason make it a point to make women seem less than a man and use scriptures like that to try to justify their view. any religion or any believer who wants to see and have women like this I have some things they need to hear. Firstly if it wasn't for women we men would not be born now would we? women are the ones who feed us as infants and a stay at home mom is a super women I could never have the strength to do what they do not to mention God chose a women to give birth to his one and only son who saved us so I think God is not sexist

"Women cannot preach." Last time I checked, it said, "Let no woman teach or usurp authority over a MAN." I think most of you just twist scripture to make it sound like the rest of us are telling women, they can't preach, have ministry, share the gospel. In my taste, I find it very ignorant and sort of mind blogging how some can change scripture to defend their own liking.

Lets just leave the scripture as it is, it says, "Not to teach and usurp AUTHORITY over a MAN."

What does Authority means in the Bible... Just reading it, I can sure well tell, it doesn't mean, "Woman can't reach, share the gospel, have ministry,..." You people need to stop adding to scripture.

I have female pastors in my family. Some are pastors with their husbands, some are single. Most Bible schools accept women into preaching ministry. One of my female family members brought Pentecost to her home town. God has used each of them mightily. If its is wrong for them to preach why has God used them?

No but it was a woman that found the grave empty, and sent to tell the others.
Oh my! What a stinging comeback!
Seriously? That's all you got?

Re: “Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted 1 cor cp 14

I was saved after a group of young people visited the gym I worked at and one of them gave me a Bible tract explaining sin and God's love. I accepted God's gift of salvation. I visited Keystone Bible Chapel, where those young people worshipped. I noticed the woman covered their heads and did not speak during worship and prayer meetings. The elders gladly explained God's word relating to that practice.

Since then, I have moved several times, from several different states. I still have not met a more dedicated group of believers. They loved the Lord and served Him and worshipped him and led many people to trust Him as Savior.

I read this thread and began studying the word and viewing commentaries online to seek out answers. I have not found an answer that will satisfy all who have posted. I have wondered about many scriptures in my life, wondering what God's purpose was. For instance, Joshua fought the battle of Jericho.
He told Joshua to have his armed men march around the city once each day, for six days. The priests were to carry the ark, blowing trumpets, but the soldiers were to keep silent.
On the seventh day, the assembly marched around the walls of Jericho seven times. Joshua told them that by God's order, every living thing in the city must be destroyed, except Rahab and her family. All articles of silver, gold, bronze and iron were to go into the Lord's treasury.
At Joshua's command, the men gave a great shout, and Jericho's walls fell down flat! The Israelite army rushed in and conquered the city. Only Rahab and her family were spared.

Joshua's strict obedience to God is a key lesson from this story. At every turn Joshua did exactly as he was told and the Israelites prospered under his leadership. An ongoing theme in the Old Testament is that when the Jews obeyed God, they did well. When they disobeyed, the consequences were bad. The same is true for us today.

Joshua's strong faith in God led him to obey, no matter how illogical God's command might be. What if some of Joshua's men felt the walk was too long and maybe they could circle the city just 2 times? I'm sure their feet hurt and they were tired.

What if God's commands for us in how we worship seem illogical? What if they seem to make woman seem less equal to men. What if we convince ourselves that God only meant this practice for the early church in Corinth? Certainly he wouldn't punish us or even care if we drifted slightly from His word in this matter, right?

If I visit a group of worshipping believers and the women have their heads covered and do not preach, I feel comfortable. All believers need to be convinced of their views in light of Scripture; none should depart from what the Bible teaches simply because such views are not popular. The real danger, as I see it, is that many Christians simply ignore what this text says because any form of obedience to it is inconvenient.

Unmarried women do not normally have men harassing them to silence in their own homes... since the Scriptures in question generally address married women, telling them to consult their husbands later rather than disrupting the worship service... ;)

If any man on this forum wants to assume the role of a pastor and preach to the CC women about being silent in the church & instruct her not to teach, you must first qualify as a pastor.

Here are the guidelines for a pastor as written in Ephesians, Titus, I Timothy, & I Peter:

A pastor must be devoted to one and only one wife; he must love her with his mind, body and soul and illustrate to her Christ’s love for His bride, the church.
A pastor’s children must be in respect of him, he must not cause his children to be angry at him, but teach them with patience and kindness
A pastor must be able to manage his own household & keep it in order
A pastor is a faithful steward of his money & does not spend it frivolously
A good overseer of his finances & a manager of resources
A pastor must be humble and not arrogant, demonstrating when he is wrong and assuming responsibility for it & restoring relationships that he has hurt
A pastor must be gentle & not quick-tempered.
A pastor must be sober & never overindulge in alcohol or any other addictive behavior (including lust)
A pastor must be a peacemaker
A pastor must have financial integrity & not greedy for gain, not materialistic (cars, electronics, other luxuries)
A pastor must be hospitable & always available to others
A pastor must be self-controlled in all things: diet, time, words, exercise, relationships, and money
A pastor must be upright & showing godliness in how he treats others.
A pastor must be holy, devoted wholeheartedly to Jesus externally and internally.
A pastor must be able to teach & be a living example of what he teaches & communicate it in an excellent manner
A pastor must be spiritually mature and not prideful or foolish
A pastor must be respectable and have no credible witness to an ongoing sinful behavior.
A pastor must always be an example to the flock

(I can give you all the scriptures to support these qualifications but if you think you're a pastor, you already know where they are written in the Bible) ;)

If you fit ALL of these qualifications, by all means tell me to be quiet.

If you do NOT fit these qualifications, don't worry about it. This is an open forum for everyone in the entire world to post and to fellowship. So stop trying to make women feel condemned for expressing their opinions. Also, GROW UP!

I would add that in the broader sense, both men and women should not tell the opposite sex to do or not do something, when they can't be bothered to change themselves.

I hadn't been married to my wife long when I realised she had an answer for everything I said. It irked me, I don't mind admitting. Until I learnt not to argue with her
Methinks I shouldda kept quiet on this thread too!

Good response

I understand that anything a man says after his wife has her say is starting a new argument... ;) Relationships are not easy. I admire anyone who can make theirs work over the long term. It requires real sacrifice and selflessness. Having Jesus as part of it is no doubt a great help also :)

When questioning a highly controversial and debateable topic such as this, where both sides are passionate about it and convinced their view is correct,

look at the fruit to get a better idea of what God thinks.
