I think "tongue of angels" are just hypothetical ones. Paul has never spoken once. It is saying the same thing as "prayer moves the mountain".
There are literal angelic languages that we speak in who speak in tongues.

9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Partial knowledge, partial prophesy. The two which is in part will be replaced by a complete that shall come. The only thing that fits this is the completed Bible, not even Christ coming that shall vanish or that will cease the two. God bless
I'll give you $1,000 if you can prove, from Scripture alone, that the Gifts of the Holy Spirit: speaking in tongues/prophecy/healings and the others in 1 Corinthians have ceased.

If you are unable to prove, from Scripture alone, that the Gifts have ceased - you owe the LORD and the Body of Christ a statement of affirmation and thankfulness to the Holy Spirit and His Gifts here on ChristianChat.

This is adding to God's words and Paul's and you should refrain from such.
Speak only what the LORD has approved.
Reject man-made religious teachings.

what I Corinthians is actually about, is the fact that no gift without God's love working through it, is a good thing

that was the emphasis and still is the emphasis

Who was Paul writing to? the Corinthians who were in error in their worship and use of the gifts...especially tongues.

but what do cessationists do? they try to turn this chapter into a cancellation of 3 gifts and say that is what it is about

no gift has ceased and I really have to wonder why the same people keep turning up in every thread about the gifts declaring that tongues has ceased along with 2 other gifts when Paul says do not forbid speaking in tongues but do it right

do it right people. do it right. that's all
Satan is in terror of the Holy Spirit and hates the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Religion, therefore also hates the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Since satan cannot stop what God has Given, his next move is get the Body to flaunt from the flesh - pride of life.

Thus 1 Corinthians = God's Affirmation of the Gifts and the admonition against improper behavior with the Gifts.

Since the Holy Spirit Himself said through Paul that THREE spiritual gifts had an expiration date, why don't you simply accept that as fact? Indeed the Greek word katargeo means abolish. So do you believe that every word in Scripture is given by the Holy Spirit to holy men of God? If so, it is the Holy Spirit who used the words
καταργηθήσονται (katargēthēsontai) and καταργηθήσεται (katargēthēsetai) in 1 Cornithians 13:8.

Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 2673: καταργέω (katargeo)
καταργέω, κατάργω; future καταργήσω; 1 aorist κατήργησα; perfect κατήργηκα; passive, present καταργοῦμαι; perfect κατήργημαι; 1 aorist κατηργήθην; 1 future καταργηθήσομαι; causative of the verb ἀργέω, equivalent to ἀργόν (i. e. ἀεργον (on the accent cf. Chandler § 444)) ποιῶ; frequent with Paul, who uses it 25 times (elsewhere in N. T. only twice (Luke, Heb.), in the Sept. 4 times (2 Esdr., see below)); 1. to render idle, unemployed, inactive, inoperative: τήν γῆν, to deprive of its strength, make barren (A. V. cumber), Luke 13:7; to cause a person or a thing to have no further efficiency; to deprive of force, influence, power (A. V. bring to nought, make of none effect) τί, Romans 3:3; 1 Corinthians 1:28; τινα, 1 Corinthians 2:6 (but in passive); diabolic powers, 1 Corinthians 15:24 (Justin Martyr, Apology 2, 6); Antichrist, 2 Thessalonians 2:8; τόν θάνατον, 2 Timothy 1:10 (Epistle of Barnabas 5, 6 [ET]); τόν διάβολον, Hebrews 2:14; passive 1 Corinthians 15:26; to make void, τήν ἐπαγγελίαν, Galatians 3:17; passive Romans 4:14. 2. to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish: τί, 1 Corinthians 6:13; 1 Corinthians 13:8; τόν νόμον, Romans 3:31; Ephesians 2:15

Dear Brother Nehemiah6, i absolutely, unequivocally and irrevocably accept the 'Date of Expiration' set forth in Scripture for the cessation of Gifts.

None of the scriptures you posted state the expiration date as we are commanded to obey.

Only one scripture has it but is not specifically addressing the direct subject matter.

God knows.
Earnestly pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Indeed, no one understands him;
he utters mysteries in the Spirit.

But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement, and comfort.
The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.

I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you - amen.

Not at all, just an amusing exchange of sorts. No expiration of gifts provided by the Holy Spirit. :)

only truth there but don't know why you posted it to me?

oh I sing in tongues...pray in tongues and I also interpret( my own at least)...I can't make up those words on my own...the Holy Spirit can think of more ways to honor and glorify God

I was referring to tongues of angels...certainly not saying not so...but God knows :giggle:

how about build up yourself in the Holy Spirit? there's a good one!

17But you, beloved, remember what was foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ 18when they said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow after their own ungodly desires.”e 19These are the ones who cause divisions, who are worldly and devoid of the Spirit.

20But you, beloved, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21keep yourselves in the love of God as you await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life.

22And indeed, have mercy on those who doubt; 23save others by snatching them from the fire; and to still others show mercy tempered with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.

One need ask only ONE question to find out if the bible meets the criteria of "the perfect."

HAS KNOWLEDGE VANISHED AWAY? No, human knowledge perhaps doubles ever year.
It is very safe to say that knowledge has not vanished away. There goes your entire argument glug glug glug right down the drain.
While I don't agree with the OP at all, I also do not agree with your comments here. Nobody is claiming that "knowledge" in and of itself has passed away (despite the tempting snipe at those who believe it has). Rather, they are claiming that the gift of supernatural words of knowledge has passed away. We're not going to be successful in refuting error by making strawman arguments.

AMEN - i pray, sing and bless with the Gift of the Holy Spirit - AMEN

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Why would anyone call what God said is Good, evil? = unbelief, hardness of heart = religion
