The roman catholic church does not match the definition of the antichrist according to John, because they basicly don't deny Jesus Christ as the Son of God. But of course it is a heresy and not the gospel what is teached there.

This matches the RCC much better:

And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. When the Word speaks of The beast it is refering to Rome as an empire.
The first beast WAS Empirical Rome under The ceasars.
The second beast IS papal Rome under its popes.

When it speaks of the antichrist it refers to its leader (the pope.)
The papacy is both its political and religious leader.

As for mistaking the past and future.
The pope WILL COME once again and be asked to lead the world against The Two Witnesses, who initiate The GREAT Tribulation.

PS. Even devils dont deny Jesus is the Son of God!

NiteGem you digress but you need to believe in this theory

Q. If you see Two men performing signs and wonders in Jerusalem in the near future, are they?

1. The false prophet and the beast.
2. The Two Witnesses.

PS. If you have not kept the covenant of full immersion as Christ commanded you wont be discussing anything with anyone.

I have often wandered the chronological order of the events layed out in revelation regarding the appearance of the mark of the beast. When we read revelation there are quite a few events that take place prior to the beast being revealed or even mentioned. rev ch 13 is where the beast really takes his wrath out on the inhabitants of the earth and this is when the mark appears.

As to the order of the book of revelation, keep in mind that before the beast appears on earth to take out his wrath several things have already taken place. seal judgments, trumpet judgments, and two witnesses. Now all of the events contained therein i think would be signs in and of themselves of the coming of christ and would definately not go unoticed to any person of faith.

I personally do not think that referencing the cross as the beasts mark is accurate, simply because rev ch12 v14 says that an image of the wild beast is created and then in verse 15 it says that the power of life is given to the image and any who will not worship the image will be killed. Is it an accurate assumption that in the previous posts that it is believed that the image of christ on the cross is the image made of the wild beast?

Here is another reference to the number of man being 666. the aramaic letters which spell Nero Caesar, namely 50, 200, 6, 50, 100, 60, 200. (just add them together).

I, just like many of you would like to know the answers to all of our questions and be able to say i have it figured out who is who and what is what, but what i have read and learned is that gods ways are unkown to us no matter how much we desire them. The answers will be there for us, but only when the time is right. The thing i hold close is that my faith is unwaivering in the father and his son Jesus Christ. I am not anxious to figure it all out now because i would rather wait and learn it from the source personally that way i know every word of it is factual and without flaw.

May the father, the son Jesus Christ, and the holy spirit dwell in all of you forever.

The book of Revelation is in no way Chronological. Rather is it a book of repetition and "types".

Revelation 17:8
The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.

Nero was a type of pope or antichrist.The papacy's official title is PONT.MAX (Google it) and it ads to 666.

These people always point to great people like Obama or Blair or Pope. But I suggest that the anti Christ could be your own spouse, son or daughter, mother, father, cousin, aunt, uncle, brother or sister, church pastor, Ever thought of that? I mean, if the anti christ was someone obvious, it would be so easy not to be deceived. But it could be the person we least expect.

The question is this "what would happen if the Hebrews were deceived into not circumcising the flesh of the foreskin but their earlobes instead?"Are they still Jews?

According to this theory the mark is a counterfeit circumcision of the heart which would be done by Christ. If I am right, if Satan has convinced Christians not to keep the NEW Covenant, are they still Christians? ]

What about the prophies in the Hebrew Bible about Immanuel, the man of sorrows... Isiah 53, all that sort of stuff. You're implying that all of the Christians who never even heard of this throughout history... probably billions... are burning in hell right now because of something that is purely physical and not based on faith or lifetime submission to God's will at all... sounds like cleaning the outside of the cup and not worrying about the inside to me. If that was the case, why in the world would Jesus bother dying on the cross... a fun afternoon? If you can prove it then I'm all ears... somehow I doubt. I can't imagine a loving God that would condemn to hell everyone for the last several thousand years simply because they never heard of this thing. That's why the gospel must be preached to the world before He returns. And if the NEW covenant is not a circumcision of the heart, then what is it?
PS, everybody... catholic, protestant.. everybody is wrong at some level or another so quit bashing each other. We're at the end of time here, ok, this stuff is not important. Get out of your religion and get into the Word, this is where the truth is found, not in denominations. The LITERAL (except where otherwise stated with a like, or as, orsimile or comparison, or something else like that) Word of God.

Its the PAPACY.
Leader of Billions throughout history.
His organisation once ruled the known world and still is the wealthiest on the planet.
His organisation requires you recieve a CROSS or X on your forehead.
His organisation makes the same mark with the right hand. (A CROSS or X)
His organisation worships (A CROSS or X).
His organisation killed you if you refused to pray to or WORSHIP THE CRUCIFIX during the inquisitions.
His organisation SITS ON SEVEN HILLS.

and STILL you can't see it!

No one is burning in hell right now. Not until Judgment day.

YES baptism is a physical act just like physical circumcision:

Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

I can prove all this just lend me your ears!

This "thing" will be preached to the whole world once the Two Witnesses are given the authority from the Father.

The New Covenant IS Circumcision of the heart:

Colossians 2 In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism

he shall bruise Your heal but You shall burise his head.

A bruise on the heel is painfull but it doesnt kill you, a burised head ment Jesus would give satan
a crushed skull.

The word of God doesnt say the anti christ will have any markings, that how we will tell him form the
real One
