Absolutely, ever heard of a deathbed confession? To be baptized with the Holy Spirit is to be baptized in living water. Physical immersion is only an outside declaration of your faith meant for the public. God knows if you really want Jesus, He doesn't have to see you get dunked.

Yes I've heard of deathbed confessions. Usually by people who want to live a carnal life right up to the end.
To be baptized with the Holy Spirit is not a commandment.

To be baptized with water is a commandment.

JESUS SAID "he that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved (Mark 16:16)

PETER SAID "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38)

"The very word baptize, however, signifies immerse; and it is certain that immersion was the practice of the ancient church." (Institutes,IV, xv: 19.)

If you want to risk the no need for baptism theory GOOD LUCK!

Hello awings7, with all due respect,

Baptism by immersion is not a Christian invention it stems right back to Moses.

They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 1 Corinthians 10:1-3

Jesus knew this. Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. Matthew 3:12-14
For Christ died for sins once for all, ... few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also, not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Peter 3:18.
What if I'm right? Why would you risk it! Please be baptized... please.

Peter says "not putting away the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ"

You do not decide to be baptize and then get baptized by somone in water, that is not what Peter is saying, that not what the Bible teaches. It is God that does the baptizing and Jesus Christ does the baptizing with the Holy Spirit and fire, the Holy Spirit doth come to those that are chosen by Him, He will baptize you and it will be apparent, a reality in your life, it is not a ritual, it is not a cermony that you decide on at a certain place and time. There is a sign of baptism by water as water symbolizes the baptism, but it does not save you, baptism in water does not save you, it is a good concience towards God that can only come about through the risen Christ. At first the Apostles were not absolutely sure just what was meant by that baptism but you will see by the end of 'Acts' they would baptize by the Name only, water was not necessary, baptism was coming through His name and the understanding that He had come and He was resurrected, those that believed- they were baptized by Christ by the Holy Spirit that had come to earth.

Salvation is not an achievement done by works, I cannot decide to 'accept christ' and go and immerse myself in water! That is works, God is not in that, that is me. When you are saved for you will know that He has chosen you, salvation is a gift from God, He chooses Whom He will, salvation is not my decision to make, it is Christ! For many of us that are saved there will be a sign by water of baptism, or there may not be, but it is not ritual, it is a reality that your whole life is immersed and it is totally beyond your control....

hello Cup-of-Ruin,

Your point is taken. Although:

Peter didn't get into all that "philosophy" and if you choose to get all mystical then God bless you.
I wouldn't preach this, ... I would teach this to those who have the eyes and ears (the chosen).

I would, preach repent and be baptized every one of you! Remember there are billions of ways to repent but only one way (by immersion) to be baptized so where is the emphasis?

As for deciding to accept Christ and immersing oneself:

Thats exactly what the Ethiopian eunuch did;

As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?" And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.

Would you have stopped him, on his way in all his exitement and give him a deep spiritual lesson?

Philip didnt! Philip baptized him!

Thus the reason why most christians are republican. Most democrats agree with what he has to say, and The election showed that most people agree with him, too.

The prophecy seen by Ellen White. I believe the White prophesies to be false. White is believed to be a great prophet by the 7th Day Adventists. I think this a dark prophecy that is but a double edged sword which is set against the churches. Those who believe the prophecy detest Catholics. Those that deny the prophesy as truth are scornful towards the Seventh Day Adventist Chuch.

We must be willing to accept the word and how it is written. Indeed the Sabath Day was changed by Roman Catholicism in Roman Catholic Churches. But many started worship on Sunday because it was the day Christ had risen. The Children of Israel called the Sabbath day the Shabbat. Which began on Friday evening and ended sometime late Saturday afternoon. Our Seventh Day Adventist friends are actually historically acurate when it comes to Saturday being the origianl sabath day.

Our 7th Day adventist friends also push a vegetarian lifestyle on their believers.

Colossians 2:14-17, "He has destroyed what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days— these are only the shadow of the things to come, but the reality is Christ!"

Don't get me wrong, I think our 7th Day Adventist friends our legitamately trying to point themselves in the right direction. But I think they are certainly guilty of holding on to some doctrine and prophecy that I most certainly do not belive in.

As for the Catholic Church, they have a huge amount of doctorine I do not believe in as well.

The AntiChrist has always been on this earth... and when he sets up his empire in the Roman Catholic area... God will tell us to get prepared.
