As if Christian life couldn't get any more difficult, but then you are surrounded by millions of Christians telling you that your faith is wrong and asking you to question yourself constantly.

You don't have to answer to anyone but Jesus, your relationship with Him is the only thing that matters.

Hi Zen,

This thread is about easy believism. It's not aimed at anyone in particular. It's a warning to make sure we're in the faith.

There are those who are in a church that promises them there's no more judgement for sin. It's for those who believe they can have there best life now.

Those are not true and those who want an easy life without discipline and without obedience will be drawn to this type of teaching.

If this isn't applicable to you then don't worry about it. But know that there are others it applies to and they need their eyes opened to see the lies and not follow them, but to follow the true Shepherd who loves and cares for them. Pray for those this might apply to.

And by the way, we are told to test ourselves to see if we're in the faith. :)

"Are you really saved or do you just think you are?" Exposing the lie of Easy Believism:

Easy believism is bad doctrine that has become prevalent throughout many churches in the west. It is the reason why so many churches have willingly embraced the biblically defiant & unrepentant lgbt agenda (apostasy). Easy believism teaches that you are saved based solely on your own ability to believe certain truths about Jesus Christ (mental ascent) and how you live your life, no matter... how sinful, does not compromise one's belief. However, nothing could be further from biblical truth.

That does not necessarily mean easy believism when they add sinful unrepentant lifestyle to it. It is really about how they apply easy believism that is wrong. Do note that the LGBT agenda also includes getting a divorce at a drop of the hat agenda. And those who live in sinful lifestyle, do not always ascribe to easy believism for why they do it. They just don't believe it is a sin.

Easy believism actually contradicts the Bible in several ways. In contrast, scripture teaches that one is saved by placing complete trust (faith) in Christ and his word, resulting in a believer understanding that he or she is absolutely powerless to do anything to save themselves. Because their eternal destiny rests squarely upon the shoulders of Jesus Christ, a believer will then pattern his or her lifestyle after Christ and his teachings in order to maintain right relationship daily with he who holds our destiny in his hands.
Easy believism does not contradict the Bible by itself. It is when they apply it wrong is when the contradiction begins.

Since we acknowledged that we cannot save ourselves, then by believing in Him is how we are saved, then that is easy believism.

Since we acknowledged that we could not save ourselves, then we are to acknowledged our inability to follow Him and then by believing in Him as our Good Shepherd that He will help us to follow Him, then that is easy believism again because no one can finish by the flesh what was begun in the Spirit.

Luke 9:[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

To follow Him, we have to deny ourselves as able to, pick up the cross that it is He in me that lives, and not I, and that is the power for living the christian life in following Him.

So believe in Him as your Saviour that you are saved.

And then believe in Him as your Good Shepherd that He will help you to follow Him.

It is written that the just shall live by faith.... in Him & all His promises to us, and so when we trust Him all the way, we get to know Him & the power of His resurrection when He frees us from the bondage of sin in our lives so we can follow Him.

1 John 3:[SUP]3 [/SUP]And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.....
[SUP]8 [/SUP]He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

We can only lay aside every weight & sin by looking to the author & finisher of our faith to help us do this in running that race by faith in Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 12:1
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,[SUP] 2 [/SUP]Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jude 1:
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,[SUP] 25 [/SUP]To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

The thing we should watch out for when believers start compromising sin under grace is how they tried to repent of their sins. If it was done by doing the best they can, and then failing, they reasoned grace to be applied while they continue to live in sin, giving up the religious striving to overcomes, the you need to apply easy believism in the right way by telling them that if you could not save yourself, then why did you think you could overcome sins and follow Him by your merits?

Remind them that they had simply believed in Jesus Christ as their Saviour was how they were saved and so by believing in Jesus Christ as their Good Shepherd is how they can follow Him. There is no other way to follow Him but trust Him to destroy the works of the devil in their lives.

I believe some of that wrongful application of easy believism in regards to salvation is because they had attempted to finish by the flesh what was begun in the Spirit and so failing that, they had no choice but to believe it must be okay because they cannot overcome and so they rationalized & thus applied easy believism wrongly, at the expense of the scripture to live in sin. Not all do this; I am sure some just never bothered to repent and just applied wrongly to live in sin because they want to, but I am sure some have "quit" religiously in following Him and so apply easy believism wrongly.

So I believe in easy believism in that respect because since that is all it takes to be saved by believing in Him as our Saviour, then that is all it takes to follow Him by believing in Him as our Good Shepherd that He will help us to follow Him BECAUSE we cannot live this reconciled relationship with God by any other way other than by faith in Jesus Christ.

So point those unrepentant believers to go before that throne of grace for help in repentance and to believe in Him that He is also their Good Shepherd that will help them to follow Him by faith alone.

Hebrews 4:
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The issue is everyone wants to use their own definition of easy believism and if we don't agree on a common definition, how can we really discuss the topic?

You cannot apply what the demons and devils say.....it is not indicative of SAVING FAITH which is what is being discussed.....we are discussing LOST MEN and saving FAITH...either one has it or they do not have it.....there is NO in between and that is the point......
And you surely know all about saving faith.

You're soooooo cute!

actually hey prove how hard it is to just have saving faith, we have to add all these things to it so it does not seem so easy,

Again, it is all based on Pride,

SURE......Jesus died on the cross to pay my sin debt, spent three days in the tomb, was resurrected for my justification and I have acknowledged him by saving faith, testified publically both by word and immersion which was my public profession of faith and I stand secure in his promises to never leave me nor forsake me, finish the good work he began in me and at the last day will raise me up if I have died before the resurrection/change. The seal of the Spirit is y pre-payment of my eternal inheritance and His Spirit bears witness with my spirit that I am a son of God by birth.

How about you Fran......
