bringing this over here so as not to derail Abiding's thread.

A prophet is the mouth piece of God Himself. He hears the words of the Lord and gives the message to the people..
and oh how men lust for that power today.
what folly.

1 Corinthians 3
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2
but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.

Hebrews 1
The Supremacy of God’s Son
1Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

A prophet can be given a vision of the future, but that is not real purpose of the prophet as many believe. The purpose of the prophet is...
good. let's get this on record.
3 cheers for NEO-MONTANIM! yay!
the flesh loves it.

1) The prophet is to speak the word of the Lord. ( Reference: Jeremiah 1:5-7, Ezekiel 33:9 )

2) The prophet is to speak first and foremost to God's people, Israel, the church etc. ( Reference: Ezekiel 33:2, Romans 1:16 )

3) They speak the coming Judgment ( References: Ezekiel:22:19-22, Zechariah 14:12)

4) They speak of salvation, a way to escape Judgment. ( References: Jeremiah 4:14, Ezekiel 33:11-20 John 14:6 )

5) To rebuke of correct false teachers, and false teachings. (Reference: Ezekiel 13:2)

6) To comfort, confirm and exhort those who are being obedient to God/Christ (Reference: Revelation 2:24-29)

The prophet's message is summed up in Isaiah 61:2.
well, i've seen a lot of deceitfull handling of God's Word to justify crackpot theology (Dominionism in this case by the looks of it...most definitely NAR trash).

this is a contender for among the worst.

so, we got a boatload of references to israel's ancient OT prophets (typical of the New Breed)...applied to these charlatans who apparently think we're so stupid we don't know what the ministries of the israelite prophets was, that those callings and even the way God spoke through them ENDED.

the NT prophets operated under a completely different priciple, and their purpose was totally different. funny how NT prophets are rarely NAMED and their functions and words NEVER used by our NAR guys....i wonder why.

so we have OT prophets' ministries ripped from context, used deceiftuflly, and then on top of that we get the following NT proof texts as justification for modern day prophets:

Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Revelation 2:24-29
But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some call the deep things of Satan, to you I say, I do not lay on you any other burden. Only hold fast what you have until I come. The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

NEW PROPHETS & APOSTLES? NAH.

Matthew 7
Never Knew You
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Yes I do because the bible says they do. There are many scriptures that speak of tongues and prophecy, but not one that would cause me to think God have revoked those or any other gift from His children.
what are tongues?

My first instinct is to get angry at Zone, but then I feel a sadness in my spirit for her, knowing she is lost and in torment of her soul, and mind. I wish she had enough respect for me, for herself, and for others, to not turn this thread into a Zone rageathon. I do pray that God will give her a true revelation of Jesus and bring her peace.

1) False gospel vs true gospel
Actually I wrote them up myself and am going to turn them into a teachers guide for other teachers
would it be possible to see that actual study you wrote posted here?
if true, it should be helpful to us all.

God has anointed me to teach, and given me the gift of understanding-
then you won't mind being tested: Paul didn't.

Acts 17:11
Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

This is not exactly a bible question. It is about the federal reserve and how it controls
america. What can we do about this?
Just your opinion.
Well damombomb........according to many here, all you've got to do is claim it, speak it and believe it in Jesus' name......throw in a prophecy or two ( no shortage of prophets here so we've got that covered) ......maybe cast a few federal reserve demons out of the way and we should be good to go. That is, if our faith is strong enough and we're getting pretty close to being sinless ;)

There are three types of tongues

1) The tongues used on the day of Pentecost by the Apostle. A human language you do not know that God speaks through you to preach the gospel to those that do speak that language. (Acts 2:4-12)

2) There is personal intercession that God Prays for you, and through you to edify yourself. This is more than likely a heavenly language. (1st Corinthians 14:2-4)

3) The gift of tongues, a message given to the church in a heavenly language that needs an interpretation. (1st Corinthians 12:10, and 1st Corinthians 14:27-28)

please explain your gift of tongues.
I have never spoke to people in an human language I do not know, like the apostles in Acts 2, not have I ever given a message in tongues. So technically i do not have the ''gift of tongues''. But i do have a prayer language Paul Spoke of in 1st Corinthians 14:4

No.
To be honest I think Seminary does more harm than good for most people. I got my training being taught by God Himself, kind of like Paul, but unlike Paul it was through studying the Word, not through direct revelation
nonsense.
your theology came out of a box.
prepackaged.

God didn't teach you he is sending prophets and apostles today.
neither did he tell you uttering gibberish is the gentile languages of Pentecost.
somebody taught you that, but it wasn't God.

i find you untruthful.

maybe i am wrong.
can i see your Bible studies you wrote please?

I dont mind at all, but I do mind unmerited attacks, and will not respond to them. However I will answer any and all ligament question you have.

That being said the Bereans study the scripture, they did not integrate Paul, but I want to answer you questions so go fo it

Paul himself had to forget much of what he was told in the ''seminary'' of his day, and many men that have graduated seminary have to re-learn the true gospel all over again unlearning the false gospel they learned in seminary.
HUH?
Paul had to unlearn?
document please (don't give me his dung statement).

show me where he had to unlearn anything other than that Jesus was not the Christ.
he may have forgotten more than you'll EVER know.

This is exactly what I am talking about. This is an unmereted attack, and seeing as you have never met me it not be confirmed. If you have questions ask them if you have attack and labels keep them to yourself.
