Angelofmercy said - 'I'll get to it in a little while beloved, I'm eating. Lol. I will give you the answer, but will you be humble enough to hear it? Your heart is hardened, but still I must do the work and speak the words He gives me.'

I''ll try to thaw my heart out, 'beloved'. If you can answer me.
Speak the words 'he' gives you, but remember He doesn't contradict Himself.
For a non-humble, hard-hearted man such as myself, - who reads God's words and believes them, I think that's pretty big.

AoM,
Find the scriptures to back your claims.
Your philosophical platitudes based in new age dogma have become tiresome.

AoM,
I know your stance,
everyone who ever lived is saved.
You strain at the gleanings of the fat of the scripture, (meant only for believers), and reject the meat of it's truth.
Do you not know that only the redeemed will live off the 'fat of the land'. - (another scripture you never looked up)
B.T.W. - Who are the redeemed? And what are they redeemed from?

AoM,
Since you obviously won't answer, I'll round out the truth of my
argument now. Namely that the redeemed are saved by grace through faith, and even that
faith not of themselves, even it is a gift from God.
The faith is in the finished work of Jesus.
The grace is in hearing His voice.
The saving is from eternal separation.
Not all souls are saved.
Not everyone hears or responds to the weight of that truth.

Some seek religion, others seek philosophical platitudes in the name of God..
Still others(most), reject the very meaning of the gospel of Jesus Christ as nonsense and folly.
Believing the resurrection as wise tales meant to keep men under the rule of others they say.

Most serve the god of forces. Which god tempted Jesus in the wilderness as He fasted for 40 days, as he tempts us all, but not as fiercely,
because we are not righteous as the Lord was and is.

Just admit you don't believe what Jesus, the gospels, and the rest the the Bible plainly states.

That there is a heaven and there is a hell, and there is an adversary who is a being.
And that Jesus is not Santa Claus, and that 'faith' in Him is not a lofty idea.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,
if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man has not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Now if you look at the verse above you will say, "See, I told you we are in the spirit." Then I would say to you.

"What spirit are you in?" Remember, Jesus compares someone born of the spirit to the wind. Look closely at the verse. Notice something familiar? Take a look.

"If so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you." If the Spirit of God dwells within you, you are in the spirit. How can the spirit of God dwell within you? Before we continue in Romans 8, let's have the Master even Jesus clear this up.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Notice what the Lord says, "The flesh profiteth nothing, the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life". The spirit that dwells within you is His word.

His word gives you life eternal. Paul is on the same page as the Master as always.

Plain and simple you are not walking in the flesh or in other words in the ways of the world. You are walking in the spirit, or you are obeying the Word of God.

Let's return to Romans Chapter 8 and read it with some understanding.

Romans 8:9

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Look at the 10th verse, "And if Christ be in you". How can Christ be in you again? His word is in your mind.

Look at the next part of the verse. "The body is dead because of sin".

Notice what it says, the body is dead to sin? This isn't a physical death. The next verse will explain.

Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Look at verse 11, "quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

So you see, a person is very much alive physically, but if you don't follow the word of God you are a dead man walking.

Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Paul simply means bring this sinful body under control and then you will be led by the word of God.

As long as you follow the word of God you are considered a son or daughter of God. This spirit is simply the word of God, not that you are a spirit being.

After reading these verses you will see as Solomon says it is a time for everything. Take a look at what Paul is saying.

Our bodies must be changed and this will not take place until the first resurrection.

This is why Paul makes these statements.

We ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

He did say waiting correct? Even Job was aware of this. Take a look.
Job 14:14
If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

Take a look at Philippians and you will see Job and Paul are on the same page.

Philippians 3:20
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Yes, Job said "I know this corruptible must put on incorruption, and in my flesh I will see God."
He's been dead for 3500 years.
This is the resurrection of the saints, .......I don't know a believer who doesn't agree
with this statement.

Ozell,
In a sense Job was already 'born again' when he kept his faith
through the tumult he went through.
If you are speaking of being spiritually glorified(or redeemed) into the next realm, I don't think any one calls that being 'born again'.

What did Jesus mean when He said to His disciples, "When you are converted.....", meaning when they receive the Holy Spirit, they were to preach unto the ends of the earth.
Being 'born again'-(when the Spirit enters you), and being 'redeemed' into the glorified presence of God are two entirely different occasions.

To be 'born again' is to be baptized into His presence by the washing
of the water of the word through the Spirit.
It does not mean literally reentering a womb, so to speak.
When the saints are glorified is what you are referring to.
Being born into the kingdom of heaven must first happen in this life,
else where is the faith? And we know that faith comes from God and not us.

To be 'born again' ........does not mean literally reentering a womb, so to speak.

Wow! This is the same thing that was addressed in John 3 with our Lord and Nicodemus. Let's read.....

[4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Nicodemus thought the same thing. How can a man be born a second time. Jesus goes on to tell him and 'us' just how a man can be 'born again'. Let's listen to Jesus words;

John 3
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Jesus tells us we must be born of water AND of Spirit. Being born of water is what ALL of mankind had to do to be born as a flesh and blood being. Jesus them tells us that we also must be born of spirit if we are to enter into God's kingdom. And just what is being born of 'spirit'? Let's first read what Jesus tells Nicodemus...

[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

So obvious Jesus is speaking about (2) different things here; There are those things that are flesh and then there are those things that are spirit. Let's go to other scriptures to get an idea of what each is.....

Isa.31
[3] Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

God make a distinction above. Horses are NOT spirit...they are flesh. Let's continue.....

Gen.6
[12] And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
[13] And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
[17] And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
[19] And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

So not only are Horses flesh....but everything that God made that breaths upon this earth is also flesh.

Gen.7
[21] And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

And that would include man.

So when Jesus said in John 3, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh...", He was speaking about mankind, or human beings. Now let's find what is spirit....

Heb.1
[7] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
[14] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

So now we are getting a better idea here. Angels are spirits. They are beings that God made that are not like flesh beings. Let's confirm this further...

1 Cor.15
[35] But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

So the question is asked, "What type of body will those that raise from the dead will have?". Let's find out...

[39] All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

Now we already know what flesh is from reading Gen. chap's 6 & 7. And above we read the same thing. There are different types of flesh...but ALL of the above are flesh beings. Let's continue.....

[40] There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

And now we find that there is a difference between a flesh being and a spirit being.

[42] So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
[43] It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
[44] It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

So now we have some information that will help us with what Jesus was trying to explain to Nicodemus.

When man is born of woman he is born a flesh being and man then dies. When man is raised he will no longer have a flesh and blood body, he will no longer be a flesh being.....he will be a spirit being. Man is born a flesh being but will be raised as a spirit being. Once this happens, man will have been born into the family of God; man will have been 'born again'! Let's read more....

[47] The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
[48] As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
[49] And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

First man is born a flesh being, then....after the resurrection, man is born to bear the image of a spirit being.

Now let's pay attention to what us said next.....it should sound familiar....

[50] Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

And where did we hear this originally? Let's read it again......

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

So what was Jesus trying to tell Nicodemus? That in order for him to enter into the kingdom of God, there had to be a physical change in his body. Nicodemus had to go from a flesh and blood body to a spirit body. In other words..... Nicodemus had to be "BORN AGAIN". But this time he would be born into the family of God; born a spirit beings just as God and His angels are.

Now.....let's go back to John to read something special that Jesus tells Nicodemus only a spirit body, or one that has been truly 'born again' can do......

John 3
[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Jesus tells Nicodemus that once you have been truly 'born again', or born into the family of God as a spirit being; just as the wind goes and comes, but cannot be seen, so will everyone that is 'born again'!

This is what Jesus was trying to explain to Nicodemus. To be born again, not only means to have a change in your lifestyle and in your mind set and thinking here and now. To be truly born again you must have a change in body...literally! To be born into God's family of spirit beings you must become a spirit being just like Him.

Now let's read one more scripture. Let's find something else ONLY a truly born again being can do;

1 John 3
[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

When we become TRULY born again, the capacity to sin will be taken away from us. It will be IMPOSSIBLE for us to EVER SIN AGAIN! We will be as God. We will be born into His family! We will be spirit beings incapable of sinning!

Consider this.....those that say they are 'born again' now....is it IMPOSSIBLE for them to ever sin again? Are they NOW perfect and are incapable of ever sinning again until they die? Because that's what God's word tells us one that has been born into His family will never do; SIN!

Just as Ozel has been trying to tell us..... Truly being born again is not a change in mind.....it is a literal change in body!

I pray this helps.

The first thing I would like to do is to address who the Lord is talking about in this PARABLE.

Luke 16:8-9

8*And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9*And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

And the Lord commended the unjust steward! Why? BECAUSE HE WAS WISE! Jesus then says that the CHILDREN OF THE WORLD in their generations are wiser than the children of light.

Who are these "children of light"? The religious leaders! The ones given the oracles of God. The jews!
How did this happen? We KNOW why the unjust servant (children of the world) owed the Lord. The servant knows as well that HE WASTED HIS POSSESSION!

But WHY is the other servant found OWING THE LORD!?
He didn't waste his possession at all. He was a child of light, following the same patterns that christian leaders who are now what the jews were then, children of light.

He owed because again in searching out the faith of Christ, we ARE ALL FOUND TO BE SINNERS (owing the Lord)

When Jesus gets to Lazarus it is with the same thought carried over between those who sit on Moses' seat and the children of the world.

Never take this story literal beloved. If you or I were on fire, the LAST thing we'd be looking for is a drop of water to cool my tongue! Plus the children with Abraham can SEE those in agony! Can you imagine seeing your loved ones, mother or wife engulfed in flames?? You wouldn't be able to bare that here!

Also by that literal thinking, will all rich people go to burn and all who's poor with sores will go to paradise?

Remember Abraham was very rich!

Why was one saved and the other lost? Neither had any quality or action that would allow entry to or eviction from the heavenly place. Romans 9:21 'Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?' Both lived this life in the position in which he had been placed by the wisdom of the Almighty. Exodus 9:16 'And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to show in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth' God is sovereign. The difference between the rich man and Lazarus was not of position and/or possession, but their personal response to their own particular situation. The great warning contained in this parable is for those who in Christ's day enjoyed privileges, position, possession, status. The rich man was of the seed of Abraham and in Hell he cried 'Father Abraham'. His purple and linen spoke clearly that he was a child of the Kingdom and as such he 'fared sumptuously everyday'. This rich man is the nation of Jewry, yes Judah and as represented by their religious leaders.
Purple stands for royalty and Linen for righteousness and in this case 'of the Law'. Those in purple ruled and Judah was the Royal tribe, it also had within it the ministry of the Priesthood. The whole nation had been called to be a Kingdom of Priests. Exodus 19:6 'And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel'

The rich man 'fared sumptuously' every day, but this is not speaking about food and drink for the natural body, but about a people who, as the chosen of God lived in His mercies and blessings. What nation can boast of the favours bestowed upon Judah? The Temple with all the sacrificial ceremonies was situate in Jerusalem. The Law, the Covenants, Prophets and all pertaining thereto they had it all, they were richly blessed. This is the rich man, rich in oil and wine, teaching, the word, covenants, promises, the centre of all religious activity. Rich by the blessings of the God who had chosen them to this exalted place. Romans 9:3-5 'For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen'
This man had five brothers, Luke 16:27-28 'Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment'. This is a definite number and has a definite meaning. As a son of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob you just need to read the genealogies to discover a man who would have five brethren. Genesis 35:22-26 'And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun: The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin: And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Napthali: And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram' The scriptures record for us the sons of Jacob through Leah were six, thus Judah had five brethren, all full-blood brothers. Those who would have heard Jesus 2,000 years ago would have understood as they lay great store in their ancestry. This rich man then was Judah the southern kingdom of the Jews.

The condemnation of the rich man, Judah, was he was so pre-occupied with his blessings, they became his curses. He was occupied with the gifts rather than the giver. His full table was his pre-occupation. Romans 9:11 '(For the children not being yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of Him that calleth)' All Judah had in the law and the covenants, their occupation with ceremony and traditions filled them with self-righteousness. Having all the calling of God, Priests, Prophets, Kings etc. they considered themselves in possession of absolute pure religion, chosen of heaven, utter self-approbation; the holy and perfect race. In a nut-shell: they were the extremely exclusive. Revelation 3:17 is a classic example of Pharisaic bragging. 'Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked' .

Sadly those so rich in promises and prophecy had become spiritual paupers. Jesus saw their whole religious programme as a pretence and performance, cluttered up with the traditions of men. Matthew 23:1-33 'Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, and love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And the greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. But be ye not called Rabbi: for one is your master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, even Christ. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you devour widow's houses and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell then yourselves. Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the Temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the Temple, he is a debtor! Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the Temple that sanctifieth the gold? And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. And whoso shall swear by the Temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God and by him that sitteth thereon. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of Hell?'

They called Jesus a sinner, a liar, a fake, a blasphemer and a law-breaker. This He could receive and not attempt a defence, but hypocritical religionists were anathema and required the façade to be stripped away. The Son of God who would have pure religion and undefiled, exposed their pretence. James 1:27 'Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world'

There's plenty more but for now, I await commentary. Please do not harden your heart beloved.

I responded to a questioned asked of me... Nothing more. But in response to the topic I say that body is dead, and cut off for sins. It is the mind where transformation happens while we truly await the remission of sins by the shedding of our blood as well. And the sure hope of redemption of the body through Christ Jesus our Lord.

If I should've posted this somewhere else, I apologize. But I will always have an answer to the joy in my heart.

Ozell,
In a sense Job was already 'born again' when he kept his faith
through the tumult he went through.

Why do you continue to put your opinion?

Job in the flesh is talking about a change to come to him in the future

Job 14:14 (KJV)
If a man die, shall he live again ? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

Read what it says!
