Num 23:23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination woitchcraft against Israel:
according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter:
should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

You can do nothing against the truth, the word of God.

Outside of Jesus there is no salvation. Not the Church.

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

The original "true" church was in Jerusalem, and spread rapidly to Antioch, Egypt and Rome, a little later. The first pope in history came from Alexandria in the 3rd century AD, and was called "papas."

"The first Bishop to be called Papa (Pope) was Heracleus (232-249 CE), the thirteenth Coptic Patriarch of Alexandria, a community founded by Mark in 42CE, an episcopate which was revered as one of the three most ancient Episcopates, along with Rome and Antioch. The office was acknowledged as a Patriarchate by the time of the Third Ecumenical Council, and was officially ratified as such by the Fourth Ecumenical Council. John I (523- 526CE), Bishop of Rome is first to take upon himself the appelation of Pope."

Just the the one lie alone about the first pope being Peter invalidates the entire RCC church. We won't even get into fantasies like Transubstantiation, or Mary being the Mother of God and "assumed" bodily into heaven. If it is not in the Bible, it is not to be trusted!

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Go to Jesus
Go to the word of God
WHile you are alive you can repent.

and the glory of Jesus salvation to us individually will be revealed.

The truth is wonderful
Jesus is marvelous
praise God
praise the father
praise the son
prasie the holy spirit
for he is a great God and his mercy endureth forever.
He looks to save people from their sins.

from rejecting his holy word.

You may look upon the greatest riches and splendor which this earth possesses, you may look at the beauties of nature, which the great Master Artist has spread out before you in rich profusion, and yet we hear a voice saying, "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." You may put your imagination to the highest stretch, and yet you cannot take in the glory of heavenly things. Then shall we not turn our attention to the future immortal life?
There is not one of you that will enter in through the gates into the city alone. If you give back to God in willing service the powers he has given you, not only will you save your own soul, but your influence will be to gather others. Everyone who takes his position steadfastly for the truth is bringing other souls to the same decision and to Heaven. In this work you can show that you love God with all your heart, and your neighbor as yourself. We are to feel a burden for the souls that are around us who are out of Christ. We should have a missionary spirit that will move us to try to help other feet to stand upon the platform of eternal truth.

Brother, don't forget the decision of the Third Lateran Council.
Extra ecclesiam est salus. Extra Christus non est salus.

St. John Paul the Great and St. John XXIII both spoke on this.

You do realize that argument doesn't prove that Peter wasn't the first Pope, it just argues that the word Pope wasn't used then.

Based on your argument, David and Solomon weren't Kings, since the word King didn't exist until the English language.

Peter denied christ
He is a great mascot for any false church
Peter was marred, married, and subservient to all the other disciples
and peter told us to study and believe all of Pauls writings which evey false church DENIES
And Peter was not head of the church since Paul rebuked him and told him he was off base
Rome was the center of PERSECUTION of christians
as it remains until this day

ANTI word of God (word of God = christ)
is the best descrption of the beast.

2 Pet 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2 Pet 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
2 Pet 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

obviously they dont even listen to the first mascot, God denying peter...

Mal 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

John 7:49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

2 Pet 2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
2 Pet 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
2 Pet 2:16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
2 Pet 2:17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
2 Pet 2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
2 Pet 2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
2 Pet 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2 Pet 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exo 20:6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Rev 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Rev 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Rev 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Rev 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Rev 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Rom 3:4 yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Jer 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Jer 17:6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Jer 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Jer 17:8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Luke 4:38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house.
And Simon PETER's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.

Mat 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him,
and took unto him his wife:
Mat 1:25 And had sexual relations not until she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

so much for all the main theories

on this site I have seen the most perfect example of radical Protestantism. It is truly frightening to see so many men and women lead into err by the teachings proposed my martin Luther and promulgated by the following heretical "reformers." I pray for every soul that has been lead astray that they would be brought back to the loving arms of the mother church. I also pray that suck teachings would be eradicated from the face of the Earth.
I don't know very little about Luther or any other reformers. But I do know that one of the things that Luther was upset about (with the Catholic Church) was that they were selling Christianity for money.

Show me a verse, other the one where Jesus says that He is the Rock, that says Peter was the first pope.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]“Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
‘I am the first and I am the last,
And there is no God besides Me.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]‘Who is like Me? Let him proclaim and declare it;
Yes, let him recount it to Me in order,
From the time that I established the ancient nation.
And let them declare to them the things that are coming
And the events that are going to take place.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]‘Do not tremble and do not be afraid;
Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it?
And you are My witnesses.
Is there any God besides Me,
Or is there any other Rock?
I know of none.’”

I would start with this. Apparently the Catholic Church knows of a rock that God is not aware of.

2thewaters,

You realize that celibacy of priests is not a religious argument but an administrative one right?

Catholicism doesn't deny the writings of St. Paul.

We know Peter was married.

Infallibility doesn't go to everything the Pope believes, only to the moral stance of the Church.

Paul did rebuke Peter and Peter called the First Council, and it was he who declared Paul right.

Peter called the First Council in Jerusalem. After Peter gave his official opinion, the debate was over.
Peter was the one at Pentecost that spoke to the multitudes.
Peter was the one told to feed the sheep and lambs of Christ.
Peter was the one called Cephus that means rock in Aramaic.

Was Peter perfect? No. Did Peter commit the same grave sin against Christ as Judas? Yes. But unlike Judas, Peter hoped and loved Christ as God. Peter was the first of the Apostles to recognize and declare who Christ was, is, and ever shall be.

We are not off base to believe that Peter was the custodian of the Church, and that his position had and has a successor.

Which of Luthers 95 theses do you disagree with?

If the moral stance of the Catholic Church were infallible there would have been no need for Luthers theses and there wouldn't have been splits within that church.

None.

Though do recognize that the official moral stance of the Catholic Church denounced the paid indulgences. It was an act by the Pope through the administrative office of the Vatican in order to pay for St. Peter's Basilica. Indulgences were given through the Vatican treasury, not the Magisterium. Luther originally understood this. Many Catholics supported the 95 theses, including the next Pope. It was Luther's other writings, his bad translation of Scripture (even modern Bible scholars agree), and his doctrine of Faith Alone that caused his excommunication, not his 95 theses, which he was never asked to recant.

You'd think that when they find out they are ridiculously against the bible they would attempt to fix all the other problems with their "infallible" church.

But they still claim infallibility and hold on to all their errors.

Let me repeat what you said brother:

1 Catholic Church denounced the paid indulgences.

2 Pope through the administrative office of the Vatican in order to pay for St. Peter's Basilica
.

Mean Pope is wrong.

What is the meaning by Pope is infallible?

Is that mean Pope never wrong?
