josh123,

re: "i have some adventist friends you know what they do? keep the sabbath holy and be unholy for the rest of the days..."

Not sure I see your point with regard to the requirement to keep the seventh day holy.

Are you trying to look for an excuse for not keeping the sabbath of the Lord?
Nope, but DO YOU KEEP IT that WAY?
THAT IS what Sabbath of the LORD. What I wanna say is, If you want to pick a verse, don't only pick one and forget the other.
Now since you know that is the Real Sabbath, is it compatible with what you have believed to be Sabbath of the Lord?

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

According to the Bible who is true Israel? Then all who are spuritual Israel God's law is given to them.

Josh123,

re: "how can someone keep the SABBATH without the holy spirit how can anyone do that?"

Why do you need the holy spirit in order to stop doing work on the seventh day?

No one has ever been made righteous by keeping the law OT or NT. Have you not read that Abraham was made righteous by faith? Yet it is said of Abraham that he kept God's commandments.

You said: "Scripture allows man to designate another day than the day God blessed as Sabbath. God did this when the gospel was sent to the pagans who were so used to Sunday worship."

God never set His commands aside and said it's okay if you disobey Me...You are slandering God and His Bible.
Oh!! that is the part you disagree with!! I am basing it on this scripture:
Col_2:16
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

I think, though, there is a real question as to whether Paul was saying this to the Jews who were practicing their worship of Jesus through their way of eating and the Sabbath. The gentiles have for centuries used this to justify their worship non practice, shall we say?

your missing the point i was trying to say how can any1 keep the laws of god without the holy spirit, most of my friends even adults party hard smoke hard and holy pon the sabbath, that's what im trying to say and to prove a point why it isn't meant for us, just putting the law infront and forgetting the purpose of life to accept god... most of my adventist friends think they are save because they keeping the sabbath holy

You are debating over God's law trying to make it say we do not have to keep His law. Do you keep the sabbath of the Lord? The only day that has been blessed is the 7th, any who do not keep it are missing out on a blessing. Adam & Eve were created on the 6th day and kept the sabbath of the Lord the next, how do you think they kept it? What do you think they did on the first sabbath?

You can even say that Christ, as Lord of the Sabbath, leads us to the Sabbath.
Christ leads people back to Mount Sinai and the Old Covenant?

you think you're sanctified by a day of the week?
or any feast day or ritual?
are you sanctified by ANY of that?

Hebrews 10
10 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

~

i wonder what part of:

He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second

...people despise?

and why do they?

Then said he [JESUS] , Lo, I come to do thy [THE FATHER'S] will [to taketh away the first, that he may establish the second - TO SANCTIFY THE PEOPLE], O God [FATHER]. He taketh away [IT MEANS WHAT IT SAYS] the first [COVENANT], that he [JESUS] may establish the second [COVENANT].

By the which will [THE FATHER'S WILL, THAT JESUS CAME TO DO - TO TAKE AWAY THE FIRST THAT HE MAY ESTABLISH THE SECOND] we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

The manner in which most people in the forum refer to Jews, the faith of Abraham that is, then Abraham was a Jew. As for genealogy, that is impossible of course, since Judah was born to Israel. You know what people mean when they refer to Jewish, Jews, etc............most times it is actually refering in the gerenal sense to the Children of Israel or those of the faith of Abraham. I speak of usage not of strict definitions, but you know this.

okay.
there are more to it, i'll just post the verse now, since you want it from the Bible.
Exodus 16
29
See, for the Lord hath given you the Sabbath; therefore He giveth you on the sixth day the bread for two days. Abide ye every man in his place. Let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”
(so stay at your house all day)
Exodus 35
3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the Sabbath day.”
(fire back then, I supposed a replacement for electricity, so no electricity all day)
EXOD.35 [2] Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.[3] Ye shall KINDLE NO FIRE throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

KINDLE NO FIRE. Ya think this might be a parable leonardronaldo? After all, common sense should tell ya that some of Gods people might be in the colder regions of the world. They might have to start a fire to stay warm or cook some food.

PROVERBS 26 [20] WHERE NO WOOD IS, THERE THE FIRE GOETH OUT: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.[21] As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to KINDLE STRIFE. [22] The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Seems so. Seems to have something to do with the words you speak. Your words.

JAMES 3 [4] Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.[5] EVEN SO THE TONGUE IS A LITTLE MEMBER, AND BOASTETH GREAT THINGS. BEHOLD, HOW GREAT A MATTER A LITTLE FIRE KINDLETH![6] And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.[7] For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:[8] But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Yup. No doubt about it. Once again the new testament verifies the old.

JER.17 [26] And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.[27] But IF YE WILL NOT HEARKEN UNTO ME TO HALLOW THE SABBATH DAY, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; THEN WILL I KINDLE A FIRE in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

How many times and how many ways must the Lord tell us to keep His sabbath day before we will believe Him?

EZEKIEL 20 [47] And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I WILL KINDLE A FIRE IN THEE, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: THE FLAMING FLAME shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein. [48] AND ALL FLESH SHALL SEE THAT I THE LORD HAVE KINDLED IT: it shall not be quenched. [49] THEN SAID I, AH LORD GOD! THEY SAY OF ME, DOTH HE NOT SPEAK PARABLES?

I Guess by the time God kindles His fire all flesh shall know He kindled it. But.. itll be to late for many.

Yup leonardronaldo, the LORD does speak in parables

lol now we are back to the definition problem again, can't you see?
If what you meant by worshipping God or stop working alone, yes. but, I showed you that the Sabbath of the Lord it's not only that, didn't I?
The main point is, you fail to upkeep with it, until you succeed in it don't even judge others who also fail to do the same, because you fail also.

if we have a rest with god in us [h=3]Hebrews 4:1-4[/h] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. why do you keep the sabbath? we are in rest when we accept god...

josh123,

re: "your missing the point i was trying to say how can any1 keep the laws of god without the holy spirit"

How could I know that was your point? You specifically singled out the 4th commandment (third if you're RC) and even emphasized it by using all upper case letters. That is something you don't do even when you start a new sentence.

Yes I do

EZEKIEL 20 [12] Moreover also I GAVE THEM MY SABBATHS, TO BE A SIGN between me and them, that they might know THAT I AM THE LORD THAT SANCTIFY THEM.

The sabbath is a sign between God and his people that the “Lord does sanctify them”.

ISAIAH 66 [15] For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.[16] For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.[17] THEY THAT SANCTIFY THEMSELVES, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, EATING SWINE'S FLESH, and the abomination, and the mouse, SHALL BE CONSUMED together, saith the LORD.

THE SABBATH IS A SIGN THAT GOD SANCTIFYS YOU. Who are those that “sanctify themselves”? Pretty simple to figure out.

lol parable. no, I am understanding it in context. People of God back then is always staying on close area each other. what cold lol. anyway.
so from people in the time of exodus 35, they can't understand the meaning of fire that to be put out in Sabbath, and have to wait until the times of salomon? and James, thousand of years later? haha yea right.
Sigh, yea right, you are another one who will believe a persecuted believer in Christ, but don't choose to worship and rest the same day you choose, are in fact going to hell.

alright. you can live in a fantasy that you were delivered by a Mighty Hand out of Egypt and wandered in the wilderness and were there when the Law was given and worshipped a golden calf and staggered for 40 years and maybe you were among the few who entered Caanan and profaned and broke the Covenant.

you'd be 3000 years old, but you can pretend.

as for me and my house, i believe God:

Hebrews 10

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

By the which will [THE FATHER'S WILL - THAT THE MINISTRY OF DEATH BE TAKEN AWAY - AND THE LIFE GIVING SPIRIT BE GIVEN - ON THE GROUNDS THAT THE BLOOD OF THE SINLESS SON OF GOD WHO OBEYED THE LAW COMPLETELY WAS SHED FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS, MAKING IT A BETTER COVENANT BASED ON BETTER PROMISES] we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

i am sanctified by the offering and acceptance of that offering by The Father OF THE BODY OF JESUS CHRIST.

ONCE FOR ALL.

good luck being sanctified by Saturday.

that Covenant no longer exists.

Hebrews 10
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21 And having an high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
