]NewB, It is taught in the Bible that there is a kind of faith which is believing that something is so, & that such faith does not save (demons have it). Faith leads to salvation very frequently in the Bible (your faith has saved you). Thus it is only sophistry that objects to "saving faith" as an expression.
the scripture also says faith without works is dead.....and surly your faith has no works...
Now concocting a difference between good works, obedient works, and meritorious works is playing with word irrationally. All good works are works of obedience & meritorious. And human works (regardless) are excluded from being a cause of salvation.
and what of these good works?? all works are not what you say
1 Corinthians 13:3
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
You seem to try so hard to keep yourself from being saved with your blindness.
Acts 16:32-34King James Version (KJV)Maybe I am blind can you tell me what is the word they spake that caused the jailer and his family to be baptised immediately?.....is it something you have not heard ? or something you ignore?
[SUP]
32 [/SUP]And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
[SUP]33 [/SUP]And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
