When you start believing the word of God, you will be getting somewhere.

Ro 5:18:

"the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men."
Speaking of God unjustly is slander. :)
Agreed. . .

And we're back to your unbelief again. . .so I'm takin' a pass.

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them*repentance*to the acknowledging of the truth; 2Ti.2:25

This verse doesn't mean God chooses to grant repentance to some and withhold it from others. If it did, it wouldn't matter if you instructed people in "meekness" or anger. It means God works through your instruction in meekness to cause a heart
of repentance in unbelievers.

This is how God changes hearts:
Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will*have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. Ro.9:18

How did God harden Pharaoh's heart? God sent a nobody to a king with a demand. He simply pi**ed Pharaoh off.

Just for fun I'll state this again but this time I will use English.

We are justified by faith. We will do good works because of our faith. Our good works don't save us. We don't have to do good works to be saved. But, and listen carefully, that is no reason to keep sinning.

Some people here have been saying that I have been saying we can keep sinning
. NO! I have NEVER said that or even eluded to it. Have I ever once said "our faith saves us but you can keep sinning because we are not saved by our good works"?

OK yeah by some people I mean seabass.
You are putting words in my mouth that I never even eluded to. Keep putting words in my mouth yeah keep going because anyone can go back and read all my posts and see that I never said anything like that. So by proof of written text they will all see what you skippy are doing.
That is his standard intellectually dishonest methodology. . .the last refuge of a totally contra-NT argument.

Yes but it is God who softens or hardens a heart so it is God taking the initiative not us.

I fear God now more than I ever have...because I think I'm learning Jesus isn't responsible for my actions.

Of course Jesus is not responsible for your actions. We alone are each responsible for our actions. :)

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men" Titus1 2:11

Would you say, since God's grace appeared to the world, the world has been shown God's unmerited favor?
Absolutely!

God's unmerited favor has been revealed to the world, not just to the Jews.

I think it's funny how people assume that because we are saved by faith alone they think we are saying "don't ever do good works". Just funny funny funny!
That's their deliberately intellectually dishonest methodology.

That's contrary to what I've believed. I was taught that my sins were transferred on Jesus. Do you believe they werent?

I agree elf. The difference is, we decide.
But if it wasn't for God would we ever choose God? Do you see what I am saying? If it wasn't for God's grace we would never choose God.

where does the Scripture say repentance comes from?
I'll answer you sis. Will you honestly listen?
I'll save you the trouble, jdbear.

Repentance is a gift and work of God in his own (
2Tim 2:25; Ac 11:18, 5:31),

as are faith (Php 1:29; 2Pe 1:1; Ac 18:37; Ro 12:3),

and salvation (Eph 2:8-9).

well, okay...trying to stay on the topic (i think)

i was thinking of this verse:

Rom 2:4
Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

That's the gift. He wasn't given just to the saved. He was given to the world.

Good because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction... :)

There is a difference between being punished in place of people and being punished because of people. I think God might have had the latter In mind.
