Whats worse, is doing it, then denying it..

But then again, WHen you are bound by rules. You have to make yourself look good. So it is hard to confess to such trivial matters right?

Truthfully, and I hope you can see it I when you say "whats worse" you fail to see there is nothing worse than "our own" sins.

Nope, never. I despise debate for debates sake. The concept of people who don't actually have an argument but are trying to argue anyway does sound oddly familiar tho.

in D&D a gish is someone who has physical combat skill as well as magical skill.
in the Navajo language gish is the word for a stick, cane or staff.
It's also my favorite Smashing Pumpkins album ((EP actually))
agree with all this, except for smashing pumpkins, never did like them that much.... haha

I asked about the condescending/snide attitudes because, if anyone on this site, us included, is being any of those things and is not being convicted is that a sign of "fruits" we are to look for??

Didn't Paul say if anyone bore these things, No Kingdom of Heaven?;
Gal 5:19-21 KJV Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
WHAAAAAT?
That would require "efforts" outside of Grace! Wouldn't it?

You must never EVER go THERE!

That "sort" of investments of "talent", requires EFFORTS! "SHEESH!" WHO, tell me WHO would want to "venture" THERE?

Tis much better just "STICKING" with that FREE "gift of grace!" ;)

I understand you frustration, I have it too, but what I'm getting at is if someone has one of the following fruit's;

Gal 5:19-21 NIV The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; (20) idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions (21) and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

And they are like many claim, strict adherants to The Gospel Paul preaches, wouldn't they be making a grave error not to reflect on these?

Yep you will

As will everyone

One nice thing is God has left us a blueprint of what it looks like to follow him (grace) And what it looks like to follow the religions

Sadly, When you “SIN” and them refuse to admit your “SIN” os sin, that is a sin and of itself. And is much worse that the sin one had committed to begin with.

The phairsee was masters of this.. Judge others, while excusing their own sin as not sin at all (bsically ignoring their sins and denying them)

It is one of the characteristics of a pharisee type person.

Could those attitudes be listed above?
In a word? Yes!

When it comes to warring against the adversary?

And noting the speed and adamantcy of those striving to defend it with "the law of love?"

Is when it becomes pretty visible, SG!

Really shows how "blind" the "law of love" can make one!

Why would we reflect on these?

Should we not reflect on Christ? And not sin? Is this not the problem wiht the world and churhc today, we focus so much on sin and not service?

And Paul’s gospel? Did he preach a different gospel than Christ?

Well? You would think they would! But, when all they care about is "love?"
They no longer have "the root!"
"The ROOT",
has THEM!
To put it another way?
They think they have "the BULL by the "horns!"
But, "tis the BULL" that has THEM "cornered!"

So what in there answers the question "what do you think the accuser of the brethren uses to accuse the brethren"?

A lie,
because he is a liar, a deceiver, a murderer, a rebel and the "lawless" one.
Romans 3:19-20
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

No need to lie in the presence of God when the truth works so much better. And the accused can't even deny the truth.

The accuser has you in checkmate. So those who work at the law and think they obey it need to come up with a different strategy.

Workers at the law think they are condemning those who don't work like they do. All they are really doing is digging their own hole deeper.

Yeah,

while some find the Grace of God a way to excuse or lean on the doctrine of Once saves always saved or once justified always justified others find that Grace an encouragement to seek out the anointing of the Holy Spirit which then gives them even more zeal to live righteously. It is the latter that the former seem to hate, envy, malign etc.

Are these the two camps you refer to the everlasting vs the Eternal? Or is the former not even in the "everlasting" camp?

Nobody here has said it is futile to serve God.

Its just futile to serve the 10 commandments that you have no strength to fulfill. Kind of like banging your head against the wall. It serves no purpose.

If you carried out His requirements you would not mourn before Him.

Romans 9:30-32
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

Well, right here is the difference between the Righteous and the wicked. Its just too bad you can't see it. Its in plain simple english. Is english your first language?

Those who work at the law don't attain to Righteousness. Why not?

Romans 3:19-20
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Those who work at the law sure think they are righteous. Going about accusing those who don't work at the law but have faith in Christ instead.

Grace excuse eternal security?

Lol..

Those who have been annointed and sealed by the HS of promise UNTIl the day of redemption hold on to that promise. And the promise that he who began a good work WILL COMPLETE IT. (Eternal/everlasting life is forever. I showed you the greek interpretations of the words used. How can you ignore them?

As john said Our zeal and power to continue to believe in jesus name, And use this FAITH which causes people to work. Is based on the KNOWLEDGE one HAS eternal life. (He wrote us a whole epistle to show us this fact)

It not the law. Its not the rules and regulations written on stone, which condemn.

It is KNOWING our position in christ.

Ephesians is a great study which also proves this fact.

I guess you are right, we do not need to reflect as often as we just need to allow the Holy Spirit to convict us, If it be that we have the Spirit. good clarification.;

Rom 8:8-9 NIV Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. (9) You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

If anyone however finds themselves having "fits of anger or envying" they should reflect on them as a sign that they do not have the Spirit of God living in them and then repent and tarry for the Holy Spirit anointing.

This is what is reflected on by people who work at the law.

Its what they want everyone to reflect on.

But it just shows the extreme error of the legalist. Its what happens when you reject Grace and turn back to the law.

Its the sentence you place your own self under.

Galatians 3:10-11
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

The simple part of your name sure was a good choice.
Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
