Just like rapture people always having to "revise their version" concerning tribulation! :D:D:D

You think you've heard everything?

You ain't heard NUTTIN' Yet! :)

tic,tic,tic,tic,tic, (eww? 60 minutes?)
No doubt, Yahshua warned us there would be "many" He would saw "depart from me ye that work without the Law".

The many can still seek the Anointing of the Holy Spirit and then find peace with the prospects of being Righteous. Why do you think they do not desire to seek this out? Or do they think they have the Holy Spirit and cannot admit that the Holy Spirit fruits differ from their own?

I guess you are right, we do not need to reflect as often as we just need to allow the Holy Spirit to convict us, If it be that we have the Spirit. good clarification.;
If we are serving in love and seeking after the fruit of the spirit. What does the HS need to convict us of

If we are in sin, and our mind is always focused on those sins, How can we serve others and seek after the things of the spirit. Our minds will be convictions us of those sin, as well as satan, And we will be so self focused and absorbed, we can not serve others (also, as with many legalistic issues, If we are in sin, we also must try to HIDE it from others, so that they will not convict us)

Where again, If our minds are focused on love and the fruit of the spirit. We wuld not be struggling with those sins to begin with.

Rom 8:8-9 NIV Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. (9) You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

If anyone however finds themselves having "fits of anger or envying" they should reflect on them as a sign that they do not have the Spirit of God living in them and then repent and tarry for the Holy Spirit anointing.

SG
Rom 8 NIV 9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life[d] because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of[e] his Spirit who lives in you.

14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.”16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

I think you need to study the passage again, It supports my view quite well.

You either have the spirit. And thus even though your body is guilty, Your spirit is given life, as we ar adopted as son, and no longer need to live in fear (the law)

Your you do nto have the spirit and are headed to hell no matter how much you think you love God and are obedient to his law.

Those who have been annointed and sealed by the HS of promise UNTIl the day of redemption hold on to that promise. And the promise that he who began a good work WILL COMPLETE IT. (Eternal/everlasting life is forever. I showed you the greek interpretations of the words used. How can you ignore them?
Agree

As john said Our zeal and power to continue to believe in jesus name, And use this FAITH which causes people to work. Is based on the KNOWLEDGE one HAS eternal life. (He wrote us a whole epistle to show us this fact)
agree

There is so much we agree on, but to try to discourage a heart from Loving Gods ways and will which God Himself gave them. Don't you think that is playing an adversarial role?

Yeah,

while some find the Grace of God a way to excuse or lean on the doctrine of Once saves always saved or once justified always justified others find that Grace an encouragement to seek out the anointing of the Holy Spirit which then gives them even more zeal to live righteously. It is the latter that the former seem to hate, envy, malign etc.

Are these the two camps you refer to the everlasting vs the Eternal? Or is the former not even in the "everlasting" camp?

SG
I'll defer to Jesus words concerning that. Not mine, nor my opinion!

Matthew 7
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Love being blind, as love can become?
Nobody, "sees" themselves in that camp!

Having been in that camp?
Arguments arise when people try to put me back in that camp!

Been there! Tis a "blind" camp!

This makes no sense whatsoever.

What can the law give yu the spirit can not?

Of course, Condemnation, “The law exposes sin, so that man is left WITHOUT EXCUSE.

How can you agree with Johns word then deny eternal security?

And once again, Just because you disagree with me does not mean you are adversarial. Just like just because I disagree with you does not mean I am adversarial. You need to back of from thinking this..

I disagree because I do not see as you do. But am open for you to try to show me why you are right. Not because I am trying to be adversarial

Because you are still seeing the "law" through "flesh eyes!"

Try seeing the "law" from the inside out!
NOT
from the outside in!

The law requires perfection, The prupose of the law was to expose our sin, and lead us to christ. (This is what scripture plainly says.

Why don;t you look through the law through Gods eyes. And not the eyes of the religion?

Everlasting? (this current earth/heaven age)
Ends the "moment" Jesus sets His foot down on earth!
Eternal? Yet to be determined, for some!
And again? Nobody "sees" that being themselves, either!

I have been in your camp.

And it sickens me to think how i was and how deceived I was.. and what saddens me is the many people I led to come into that camp. I just pray they found out the truth and ran as far and fast as they can out of that camp.

Everlasting and eternal was settled, I posted the word used (the same word was used, and interpreted both ways)

If people want to deny what is there in plain sight, then no one can help them

No? The "law" requires "maturation!"
NOT perfection!
God KNOWS this!
That's the "WHY" God MADE the "law!" FOR man!
God didn't MAKE man FOR the "law!"

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage
(Don't try to start following after the Law of Moses - Stick with the law of liberty, the one in which Christ has made us free from bondage of the old law)

Galatians 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
(Even if you get circumcised, you get nothing because that law has been laid to rest, it is finni)

Galatians 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
(Because that is what the old law was about, the Jews who rejected Christ were still in bondage to the law, not accepting that Christ had set them free)

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
(If they were looking to be justified by following like the Jews were, it wasn't going to happen, Moses law lost its hold, its power)

Galatians 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
(waiting for the hope of righteousnss by faith)

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
(Step up to Me, take me into your life, rest from the heavy burden of sin you carried all the time under the law of Moses)

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
(Learn of Him, He is the word, get to know Him, obey him, be like him) (lean upon the way that Christ provided you, it is a light yoke, it is easy, peaceful, joyous, restful, but don't forget, a yoke is for working)

Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
I’m not disagreeing with you but Samson and John the Baptist come to mind as possible examples of not having choice. Don’t mind me; I’m just thinking out loud.
No, you are thinking correctly. God can move in the lives of His elect because they have already attained eternal salvation. It is only in the lives of those with free will He will not, unless they ask Him to do so.

Well,

When The Heavenly Father calls a man to repentance He does as you mentioned using an Image of His Righteousness/The Law-a gift from God.

The man being called experiences a "Godly Sorrow"-a gift from God, in light of his violating the righteous requirements of God/The Law.

Then God offers this man an opportunity to Repent-a gift from God!

If the man repents, he is eligible for forgiveness, justification for those sins he committed through acceptance of the sacrifice Christ made for him- a gift from God/Yahshua!

Once Justified that man is clothed it the Robe of Christ's Righteousness! - A gift from God/Yahshua!

This new Robed Righteous man now embarks on a New Life "In Christ"! He is now eligible for yet another GIFT. The Gift of the anointing of the Holy Spirit which is synonymous with the writing of Gods Laws upon our hearts! - A gift of God/Yahshua!

This anointing is to be sought after baptism and is to be WAITED FOR because without this gift this man remains carnal and the Robe of Righteousness he received becomes soiled with sin due to transgressing the Law! The Holy Spirit drastically reduces violations of the Law/dirtying of the Robe because of the zeal and love for Gods law that is written upon his heart.

So, to your question "what can the law give you that the Spirit can not" I say you ask a foolish question! The Spirit of God Gives you the Law on your Heart, essentially making them one and the same! Your question should lead you to ask some serious questions EG. Not to be unkind or anything, but a witness of the Holy Spirit is a love for the Laws of God, Yahshua Love Included!

Of course.

One quote that I respect because it is scriptural:

"We must be willing to know the extent of the mixedness in our own character, for what the eye does not see the heart will not grieve over." James Gregory Mantle

We can and should ask God regularly in prayer and fasting to reveal our hearts to us as David did;

Psa 139:23-24 NIV Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. (24) See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

There is nothing lovey about the law of Moses.
Why don't you just come straight out and say you don't like the Word of God, or the way He wants His kingdom to be run. The law was glorious, the flesh was weak. But you have the law as bad. It will certainly be an interesting conversation you will be having with Him. Can't wait to see it.

That's right! YOU can't help me!
But, I can help you!

Should you be thinking it was you that drove yourself to desperately asking Jesus for forgiveness? You'd be thinking wrong!
If you'd be thinking it was God Himself, that allowed you enough rope to hang yourself? Just trying to GAIN your attention in/through His Son? You'd be thinking right!

It is true EG,

The purpose of the Law for the unregenerated man was to lead Him to Christ. But that is "The Law" in reference to the regenerated man. The Law does not end there. Even the New Convert will sin and it is there to convict him too. And so much more. Once the New Creation tarries and receives the Holy Spirit then there is a wide array of functions of The Law;

2Ti 3:16 NIV All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

You're like a dang pitbull someone is trying to save from drowning and all he wants to do is bite the rescuer! The Law is the rescuer of anyone who has violated it in that it is a "light unto thy path" as David said. But after redemption we find through fellowship with the Holy Spirit a gracious tenderness as he guides and corrects and educates in a merciful way as we continue to acknowledge our faltering and repent, and wash our robes in the Blood Rev 22:14~

I'm looking at the Romans 2 reference you posted. I think you misunderstand it. Morris, a Bible commentator writes, “People will be condemned, not because they have the law or do not have the law, but because they have sinned.”

The law is Jewish civil law the same as America has civil law. Neither save us spiritually and neither law can give us eternal life. Only Jesus can do that. Forget your Jewish law, it cannot save you.
How do you sin?
And why do you AGAIN SAY ONLY JESUS CAN DO THAT. DO you even read my posts? How many times do I personally need to tell you I already have the saving Grace of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior? Either you are intentionally mentioning it to make it appear as if I don't or you really can't remember. Would you please be honest and tell me which is it? It can't be for other people reading can it? They are not stupid and need to be reminded every other post. And who is MOrris, a bible commentator?
