You are indeed well aware of something I was unaware of. You have allowed me to learn and I am both grateful and thankful for. I did a search for it since my search engine is different than most and this is what popped up:

  • The sin that leads to death can be seen from the context of John 5 and it is the sin of continuous commission and omission ( a reality that does not exists in a real believer) which is a sin that one cannot be prayed for and the sin that does not lead to death is the sin that believers can be prayed for and be forgiven.
What is “sin that leads to death” in 1 ... - Stack Exchange
hermeneutics.stackexchange.com/questions/359/what-is-sin-that-leads-to-death-in-1-john-516
Well so glad we can help one another, biker and Thank You Lord, Jesus

This would tie in with what deuteronomy said as well. Like if we get too comfy in our sin, quenching the spirit. It can and will kill us, physically.... Perhaps, hmmm thanks for your input as well.

Sorry to the OP for redirecting.

God Bless you biker.

Oh goodness, I'm surprised no one is curious about being filled with the Holy Spirit and getting excited about how God has given us His Holy Spirit so we can live this life of holiness in our Savior Lord and King Yeshua/Jesus Christ that He wants us to live.........:love:

I have no idea what "Hyper-Grace" is and if it's NOT in the Bible, then I don't want to know!

As far as addressing ANY current sins - there are none - ONLY because Yeshua/Jesus Christ took ALL my sin away from me.

However, I'm still stumbling over my flesh with the rest of y'all, and when I do - I know it, immediately and I apology to God, and others and ask for God and the people I hurt for forgiveness, get back up and immediately start stirring up the Gift of the Holy Spirit within me because I know WHY I stumbled.
I have no idea what the term hyper grace means either. The grace of God is as hyper as you can get. There is no other kind. What you stated in your last paragraph I do as well.

I agree. A better word is "stumble".(y)
What is the penalty of sin? Death.

What Gift has Yeshua/Jesus given us as true born again believers? Eternal Life.

As true born again believers, how can we be sinners?

No sinner will receive Eternal Life, they are under the penalty of sin.

No born again believer can lose their salvation. It is complete in Christ Jesus.

Yeshua/Jesus Christ takes our sin away, we no longer have sin. We no longer are sinners.

As true born again believers, we are no longer sinners, we have become the Children of the Most High God that need to learn how to walk by the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit so we can take up our cross, deny ourselves and follow Yeshua/Jesus.

We are no longer sinners, we are God's children.

So you believe that GOD is going to burn the lost for sinning, And save the so called Christian for his sins.
DON'T SOUND LIKE a just GOD to ME.
GOD cast Satan out of Heaven for sinning, And GOD isn't GOING to take US to Heaven IF WE CONTINUE IN SIN
First Peter 4:18 . And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shell the ungodly and the sinner appear .
James 5:19 . Brethren, if any of you do error from the truth , and one convert him ,
5:20 . Let him know, that he which converted the sinner from the error of his ways, shall save a soul from death , and shell hide a multitude of sins .
This was a brethren that error, And HE was not going to be saved. GOD will not saved us if we continue in Sins
Hello kind and wonderful @bud62

Too much focus on "SIN." FOCUS on "CHRIST." Hallelujah, we have a SAVIOR! FOCUS on the SOLUTION, not the problem.

I've learned there are two types of SIN:

1) Sin under the penalty of Death; and

2) Sin NOT under the penalty of Death.

1 John 5:16-18 King James Version (KJV)
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

God is Just and God is Good - ALL THE TIME.

God loves you dearly bud62, there is no fear in love - especially the Father's Love for you! You're in the Father's House....

We don't want to sin anymore, but we still have the "sin in our flesh" to contend with. God has given us His Son - Yeshua/Jesus to take our sin (that was under the penalty of death) away and gave us His Righteousness which is the Righteousness of God IN CHRIST Jesus; and God has given us His Holy Spirit to empower us to live HOLY lives IN CHRIST Jesus.

Absolutely AMAZING!! All we got to do is take up our cross, deny ourselves (flesh) and follow Yeshua/Jesus. We CAN do this if we are FILLED with God's Holy Spirit!

I feel like Joshua and Caleb telling the other 10 tribes, "Come on people!! We CAN do this! We can take this land - you're making the "sin in your flesh" your GIANT. We are NOT grasshoppers! We are well able because God said to be Holy just as He is Holy and we're not doing it in our strength - we can ONLY live this holy life if we walk by the Spirit so that we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Don't let the Giant you face, keep you from your promise land. God is with us! Let's Go!(y)

I'm not sure whether to agree with you. It's certainly the case that those who pursue sinfulness will not see salvation, yet your post seems to be entirely lacking in grace. The issue for me, though, is not the truth of the need to be righteous but what it seems you're pointing at. Jesus saved, is saving, and will save those who are in Him. He will not lose a single one, so what we can be secure in our salvation. So trust in Him, not your own fight against sin.
On the flip side, those who teach that it doesn't matter what we do are certainly in error. God's love is not unconditional in that sense. It is freely given, but it is not without condition. We simply can't earn/pay for it. Those who find it will not desire to sin, though, so if you find yourself wrestling with ungodly desires you may not have apprehended the riches of His grace.
Great post! I agree.(y)

Hi Lafftur :),

Why I am a sinner?
It is Adam and Eve who ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. It is the fault of Adam or Eve or the Serpent. I never ate the fruit.:p

As you all know, the Coronaviruse is not coming from US and why the Amerians , as well as people of the the other nations, have to be suffered heavily by the virus? Remember they all are do nothing wrong with the virus.
Hello @Joe,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what your asking is, "Why are you(we) being punished for what Adam and Eve did? Why are Americans suffering with this Coronavirus and it came from China? Why is Adam and Eve's "sin" affecting us? Why does America and other nations have to suffer this virus and it did not start with us?

Well, I'll answer your question with a question........ "Why does a child get blue eyes just because his mother has blue eyes?" Traits and SIN get passed through the seed of the flesh and the DNA - It's like we're all connected - just like all of us are connected to China. None of us are separate from another. If it happens to one, it happens to all.

The Good News is Yeshua/Jesus' Death on the cross - was for all! It can pass to us if we become born again into Christ's Death, Burial and Resurrection. We have to connect with Him by FAITH and receive our redemption!

When we connect with Christ, we get EVERYTHING He is! God's love for us is actually AMAZING!!

Joe, you are loved so dearly! Rejoice! God has made a way for you to be free from the sin of Adam and Eve and even to face this Coronavirus with NO FEAR because even if we die, we will rise again because we are connected to Christ and get EVERYTHING He has, too - even Eternal Life!

Hallelujah!!

Joe, if you're not sure you're connected to Christ, YOU CAN BE! Just pray with me.....

Dear Heavenly Father,

I don't want to die. I want to live. Help me! Take away the sin of Adam and Eve from me with the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus Christ cleanse ALL SIN that is under the penalty of Death away from me. I receive the Blood and Body of Yeshua/Jesus Christ as my Savior, Lord and King. I CONNECT myself to HIM and HIM alone. EVERYTHING He is, I have now become.

Thank You, Father, I am Yours because He is Yours! Hallelujah! Seal me, baptize me and fill me with Your Holy Spirit so I can know You and fellowship with You and learn to walk by the Spirit so I do not fulfill any lusts in my flesh, in the Name of Yeshua/Jesus Christ, I pray and receive, amen!

Much love to you, Joe!! God is with you (and so is everyone that is IN CHRIST - we're connected)......always......even to the end of the world!(y)

Yes I agree...however...

The point is no one will be able to walk by the Spirit perfectly.
We really need to stop thinking that "we" have to do this in "our own" strength.

Did we save ourselves in "our own strength"? No.

Did we fulfill the Law in "our own strength"? No.

Why even think we have to "walk in our own strength"?!

Walking by the Spirit is just ONE MORE THING God wants to do for us!!! Hallelujah!! Go God!!!

God just wants to baptize us and fill us with His Holy Spirit so, GOD CAN DO IT FOR US!!! The rules of the game haven't changed - GOD DOES IT FOR US!!!

All we need to do is agree with God, take up our cross, deny ourselves and follow Yeshua/Jesus Christ!! Hallelujah!!

To God be ALL the Glory, Honor and Praise!!! No wonder we place our crowns at His feet in Heaven!!(y)

Born again believing Christians still sin. 1 John 1:8, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

If we still sin, we are sinners. There is no need to fixate on that term because an effectual sacrifice has already been made for our sins. We are a dichotomy of opposing parts being purified and sanctified over time.
Okay, for those of us like me that do not know all these big words and have to look them up.......:giggle:

dichotomy - a division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different.

Hello sister MegMarch,

Well, after finding the following scripture, I learned there is a SIN NOT UNTO Death, so now I can agree that born again believers can STILL choose to sin - we're NOT captive to sin, but we can still choose to sin - we have a choice now, we're NOT in bondage anymore to sin.

I do NOT believe we are STILL Sinners because we are a new creation IN CHRIST, but I do believe now that we have to contend with the sinful desires that are in our flesh. AFTER we are saved, God does not call us sinners. He calls us beloved, children, brethren, sons and daughters, friends, servants, etc.

Yet, God has made a way for us to be able to deny the flesh and live a holy life......how? So glad you asked!

We are sealed with the Holy Spirit when we are saved, but we need the baptism with the Holy Spirit (which is the first time we are filled with the Holy Spirit) and we need to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit - it's the ONLY WAY to walk by the Spirit and NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Sorry to go into another direction but but but....

The sin unto death still eludes me. Blasphemy maybe?
Below is what @Ahwatukee posted in #158 - perhaps it will help answer your question.....

By the way, sin that leads to death, is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which when the Pharisees said that Jesus was casting out demons through the prince of demons. Since Jesus was casting out demons by the Spirit of God, they were calling the Holy Spirit evil. And that is the unforgiveable sin is, the sin that leads to death. Otherwise, all manner of sins and blasphemy shall be forgiven.

Did you just come to this new conclusion in the last few days? The reason I ask is you clearly state in previous posts that you never sin, but now you seem to be saying that you do sin but not the deadly kind 🤦‍♂️

You should look into the history of perfectionism.
@NOV25 - I'm so sorry, but I'm growing and learning - learning truth is a process. I'm earnestly wanting the truth about sin before salvation, after salvation and how NOT to sin.

I'm tired of contending with sin in my flesh. I want VICTORY! I'm learning that walking by the Spirit is VICTORY and is possible!!!

First, I thought ALL SIN was under the penalty of Death, so there was no way I could still have sin because I have Eternal Life, but now I realize there is a sin that is NOT unto death - now it makes sense that I am still dealing with the sin in my flesh.

No worries, God is well pleased that I am seeking truth about sin. Thanks for being patient with me while I'm searching for Truth! If I'm bothering you, just put me on "Ignore." lol!(y)

God bless you, Lafftur for your desire for the truth and to live a Holy life. This demonstrates that you are truly in Christ. As one of the scriptures states, those who are in Christ will not be able to go on sinning, i.e. deliberately, willfully. And that because the seed of God remains in us. Does that mean that we don't sin, no. We still sin, but it is not because we make a practice of sinning nor do we desire to but it is because of our sinful nature that we sin as Christians. But this is exactly why Christ died for us, to pay the penalty for our sins, past, present and future, if we continue in faith from beginning to end.

When we believed, we were credited with Christ's righteousness and reconciled to God. The sins we commit as believers have been paid for. Does that mean that because of God's grace that we take advantage of it in order to fulfill the desires of the sinful nature? No! The true believer understands God's grace through faith in Christ and tries to live a life that brings glory to God, bearing much fruit. Unfortunately, as believers we don't always do that. Once again that is because of our sinful nature. However, though we still have our sinful natures, God sees us with the righteousness of Christ through faith. Everything that Christ accomplished has been imputed to those who believe. That said, for believers the righteous requirements off the law have been fulfilled, being fully satisfied. The wrath that every believer deserves was placed upon Christ and fully satisfied on our behalf. The penalty for sin which is death, was fully satisfied through Christ (who had no sin), so that though we physically die, yet shall we live (resurrection or changed and caught up).

I tend to look at the "Lord's Prayer" He taught us.
He specifically claims immediately, "if we do not forgive others," the Father "will not" forgive us.
I wonder how many never forgive the things that are done unjustly to them by other people? And if they choose to deny those people forgiveness, are we making Jesus a liar by His claim the Father "will not" forgive us? If this is true, and some are still unforgiven by refusal of forgiving, how are they without sin?
Forgiveness/Unforgiveness is a "boundary line" of the Father. One of those "conditions"....if you do THIS, then I will do THIS. If NOT, then I will NOT. It's design is to destroy our flesh - CIRCUMCISION of the HEART. We're to not love the world anymore - we are to love God - our hearts are being circumcised.

The cure is still - be FILLED with the Holy Spirit because unforgiveness is a disobedient work of the flesh. We can ONLY WALK by the Spirit if we are FILLED with the Holy Spirit.

Forgiveness/Unforgiveness needs a Thread all of it's own because it's a very vast and deep topic and one that is worthy of being discussed.(y)

She can speak for herself but isn't she just reminding us to walk in the spirit, that when our flesh stumbles, get back up and walk with Him.

I believe He wants us to follow His lead. I don't think she thinks she is or will ever be perfect, that kind of pride is frowned upon. However, leaning on the Holy One who is, helps equip and empower us to take captive our thoughts and actions not pleasing to Him, for His Glory and purposes as well as for the good of our own well-being and others we ourselves are in contact with online and off.

Humility is such a blessing, just as trusting and learning on Him.

May we all continue to have repentant hearts and mercy for others, as those are also part of His calling, eh? He knows we will always need His mercy. Let's pay Him forward.

God Bless you all.
Sweet and wonderful @CharliRenee

You are absolutely correct!

"she is just reminding us to walk in the spirit, that when our flesh stumbles, get back up and walk with Him."(y)

As true born again believers in Yeshua/Jesus Christ, we do NOT have to remain "stuck" in the sin of our flesh. All of us CAN overcome the sin that is in our flesh and walk in VICTORY. We were SEALED with the Holy Spirit the moment we were saved, but we need the BAPTISM with the Holy Spirit which is the first time we are FILLED with the Holy Spirit and we need to learn how to be CONTINUALLY FILLED with the Holy Spirit so we can WALK by the Spirit and NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

God does NOT want us saying, "I'm just a sinner and that's all I'll ever be is a sinner. Thank God He saved me, now I don't have to go to hell or the Lake of Fire, but I'm still a sinner."

With this "sinner" mentality we're robbing God and ourselves of great pleasure.

As children of God, we were created for God's good pleasure. We and God only feel pleasure when we are thinking, saying and doing what is pleasing in God's sight.

God takes great pleasure in saving us with His Blood (Yeshua/Jesus Christ).
God takes great pleasure in giving us His Righteousness with His Body (Yeshua/Jesus Christ).
God takes great pleasure in sealing us with His Holy Spirit.
God takes great pleasure in making us holy so He can indwell us and be with us on the Earth.
God takes great pleasure in us being His Temple on the Earth.
God takes great pleasure in fully indwelling us by filling us with His Holy Spirit.
God takes great pleasure when we walk with Him on the Earth according to His Will.
We enjoy and experience great pleasure when we walk in obedience to God's Will.

God wants all His children to experience the great pleasure of obedience to His Will - showers and showers of blessings we cannot contain - absolutely amazing - soooooo much captivating LOVE!

As children of God, Satan is defeated and our enemy now is the "sin" that is in our flesh that wants to rob us and God of experiencing great pleasure.

The flesh only feels pleasure when it gets to do it's own will which is sin because it is ALWAYS contrary to God's Will. As true born again believers when we let our flesh get it's way we do not feel pleasure, we feel confused and struggle with doubt, fear and guilt.

When we fight and argue with each other, it's our flesh that's fighting because each of our flesh wants it's own way and you can't be right if I'm right.......it's just the flesh - carnal nature - selfishness due to immaturity - haven't learned to walk.

God has done EVERYTHING for us. Saved us, gave us His Righteousness, seated us in Heavenly places, made us a holy temple for Him to dwell with us on the Earth, etc......

No way is He going to abandon us now and tell us to "walk without sin" ALL ON OUR OWN?????!!! Heck NO!

God has given us the Power of His Holy Spirit for us to walk. The rules of the game haven't changed - God wants to "walk" for us too! Hallelujah!

I say we let HIM by being FILLED with His Holy Spirit so we can walk by the Spirit and NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Sin is now a choice for the believer, with the power of the Holy Spirit in us, we CAN say NO.

Simply pray...

Dear Heavenly Father,

Because of Your great love, you have given me EVERYTHING and done EVERYTHING for me. By faith, I receive all that You have done for me and all that You want to give me. I ask that the sin in my flesh NOT hinder me from receiving from Your Hand. I reject sin, I reject my flesh and choose God, I choose Your Will - Heavenly Father.
Thank You for Your Son - Yeshua/Jesus Christ - I receive Him as my Savior, Lord and King.

I ask that You seal me, baptize me and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I want to bring You pleasure and I want to experience the pleasure of bringing You pleasure. With Your Holy Spirit in me I can walk by the Spirit and NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Help me, Father, give me the Gift of Your Holy Spirit, in the Name of Yeshua/Jesus, I pray, amen.(y)

Hello brother, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts....

I never looked at it as not leading to (physical) death. Hmmmm, yes very interesting. I can see that as plausible when considering the acts account. I try not to speculate when he doesn't say specifically but since it is an instruction, I do yearn to know. So thanks for this gives me something to consider and pray about.
Hi @CharliRenee

God loves it when we ask Him questions about His Word. He loves that you "yearn to know." When it's time, the Holy Spirit will open that scripture to you and you will know and understand.

Sometimes, the Holy Spirit answers our Bible questions right away and sometimes it's like we're in 2nd Grade asking a question that only 12th Graders would understand.....lol!

Just keep asking the question, He'll show you line upon line, precept upon precept!

The Holy Spirit will teach you......

1 John 2:27 King James Version (KJV)
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Hello my wonderful brother Ahwatukee! God bless you, too!

It is a joy to search the scriptures with you. You are a tremendous blessing, thank you.

As one of the scriptures states, those who are in Christ will not be able to go on sinning, i.e. deliberately, willfully. And that because the seed of God remains in us.

Does that mean that we don't sin, no. We still sin, but it is not because we make a practice of sinning nor do we desire to but it is because of our sinful nature (sinful flesh) that we sin as Christians (and because we are NOT keeping ourselves continually filled with the Holy Spirit).
I agree, however I would not say "sinful nature" because it infers "born that way," I would say "sinful flesh" which infers the "body (the earthen vessel) and the soul (mind, will, and emotions)" which we are living in and dealing with every day.

In Christ we are "born again with the Spirit and water." We have become a new creation in Christ Jesus, created for good works pleasing in God's sight - sinful flesh goes against our new nature in Christ.

Our souls (mind, will and emotions) are right now in the process of being restored and our bodies will be redeemed at our resurrection when Christ returns to the Earth.

But this is exactly why Christ died for us, to pay the penalty for our sins, past, present and future, if we continue in faith from beginning to end. When we believed, we were credited (recreated) with Christ's righteousness (<=this is His seed that remains in us) and reconciled to God. The sins we commit as believers have been paid for.
I would not say "credited" instead I would say "recreated" because we have been born again with a new nature which is The Righteousness of God IN CHRIST JESUS. Our soul is being restored and our body will be redeemed. When He appears - we will be just like Him. All glory to God! He did it ALL!!

Does that mean that because of God's grace that we take advantage of it in order to fulfill the desires of the sinful nature? No! The true believer understands God's grace through faith in Christ and tries to live a life that brings glory to God, bearing much fruit. Unfortunately, as believers we don't always do that.
I agree and am taking up my cross, denying myself (sinful flesh) and following Yeshua/Jesus right along with all my brothers and sisters in Christ, however I have discovered that the mistake we are making is not being filled with the Holy Spirit.

We're neglecting the Gift of the Holy Spirit in us. We're resisting, quenching and grieving God's Holy Spirit, we need to stop, repent and go back and learn to stir up the Gift of the Holy Spirit within us - ONLY with the Holy Spirit can we walk and live a holy life in Christ - a true reflection of our Father in Heaven.

Once again that is because of our sinful nature(sinful flesh). However, though we still have our sinful nature(sinful flesh), God sees us with the righteousness of Christ through faith.
Again, I would say "sinful flesh" not "sinful nature" because of reasons stated above in this post.

Everything that Christ accomplished has been imputed to those who believe. That said, for believers the righteous requirements of the law have been fulfilled, being fully satisfied. The wrath that every believer deserves was placed upon Christ and fully satisfied on our behalf. The penalty for sin which is death, was fully satisfied through Christ (who had no sin), so that though we physically die, yet shall we live (resurrection or changed and caught up).
Notice how God did EVERYTHING for us - we just need to "receive" by faith. And now, God even wants to actually do this "walk" for us and in us - just like He died for us, obeyed the law for us - fulfilled all righteousness for us, He raises us up from the grave, we don't raise ourselves up when we resurrect at His coming...... God does EVERYTHING for us!!! Hallelujah!!

We need to cooperate with God's Holy Spirit and stop trying to do this "walk" all on our own.

God wants to restore our souls and walk for us...... We need to be FILLED with the Holy Spirit so we can walk by the Spirit (God walking in us) so we do NOT fulfill the lusts of the sinful flesh.

Thank you again, Ahwatukee! You have been a wonderful blessing to me!(y)
