Does the Bible support the idea of a spinning ball earth flying through space, or is that a Satanic, Masonic lie?

I would love to hear compelling and intelligent answers to that question. I have been asking that among the Christian community for 8 years now without getting an answer that holds water. If I asked "does the Bible support the idea that we live on a motionless plane, with the Sun, Moon, and stars circling around us, I would expect a flurry of Bible verses, since they are there. Going to bed now, but look forward to reading replies tomorrow.

Read how vor navigation works. This is one of the primary ways that pilots navigate in ifr flight. Gps is not always available or relyable and certainly not accurate enough in instrument flight conditions, were vor is very accurate. Or take a pilot class learn to fly and then take the instrument rating classes.

The Bible supports the Creator made the creation. It is temporary, and it has been systemized by God, not by any other, for there is no other.

Yes the bible says to be a true witness for his kingdom.

It's quite clear when you look up at the sky you see the sun the stars the moon all on the move, following the same rotational orbit of our planet every day.

But the most compelling evidence is.
There is no way the stars that are light years away could do a full orbit of earth in just 24 hours.

Which only means one thing our planet is spinning around.

Then there is the constant flow of rivers and underground water always on the move and never motionless.

Then there is both sides of a sea or ocean ( one side falls whilst the other side rises each day. (Never motionless).

Then there's earth viewed from space. 😊.

If you've been asking for 8 years I'm sure you've heard all the arguments, yet you still ask. I'm curious to know what you think about it. Are you undecided or have you already formed an opinion which you're daring people to knock off your shoulder?

Since the Bible speaks of the sundial of Ahaz (Isa 38:8), that is sufficient evidence of the rotation of the earth and the APPARENT movement of the sun:

"A sundial is a horological device that tells the time of day (referred to as civil time in modern usage) when direct sunlight shines by the apparent position of the Sun in the sky. In the narrowest sense of the word, it consists of a flat plate (the dial) and a gnomon, which casts a shadow onto the dial. As the Sun appears to move through the sky, the shadow aligns with different hour-lines, which are marked on the dial to indicate the time of day. The style is the time-telling edge of the gnomon, though a single point or nodus may be used. The gnomon casts a broad shadow; the shadow of the style shows the time. The gnomon may be a rod, wire, or elaborately decorated metal casting. The style must be parallel to the axis of the Earth's rotation for the sundial to be accurate throughout the year. The style's angle from horizontal is equal to the sundial's geographical latitude".

"The only way in which the shadow on a sundial could go backwards would be for the sun to reverse its course and appear to traverse the sky from west to east, which, since it is the earth that moves, and not the sun, would imply that the earth had changed its direction of rotation and was turning backwards. Such a defiance of nature would really be a sign of God’s power for Hezekiah."

There are already threads on the subject.
Do a search and you'll find more debate than anyone has time to read.
I was just thinking "oh no, not another thread on this"

I may start two others. The first one about pre trib versus post trib and the second one about works vs grace. Then I may throw in another for luck, Trump for 2024 lol.

Job 26:7: "He stretches out the north over the empty place, and hangs the earth upon nothing."

So the Book of Job reveasl that the Earth floats in space.. that it does not hang on anything..

Isaiah 40:22: "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth."

In Isaiah it reveals that the shape of the earth is Circular.. So what is the shape of a Globe? Circular..

Psalm 19:4-6: "In them has He set a tabernacle for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. His [the sun's] going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof."

Psalm's declares that the Sun is not fixed in a positon but travels in circuit.. We know that the Milky way galaxy rotates aproximatly once every 200 million years so the sun travels a great distance in a circuit and completes one orbit each 200 million years,,

Does the Bible adequately explain nuclear fusion, brain surgery, or dovetail carcase construction? No. Nor does it adequately explain the shape of the earth.

If the earth was flat, I would expect there to be at least one Bible verse that says so.

None do. But then again, the Bible is not a science book, or a book on astrophysics.

Oh! And don't forget to start another one asking if all the wild parties and things we don't get (or are "not allowed") here while on earth will be given to us/ taking place in heaven.

There is allot in Scripture about the earth things that man had no idea of for hunderds if not thousands of years later yet you will find others to tell you just because it says maybe "circle" ..ooh they go into depth about that does not make it a sphere. Or God hanging the earth on nothing "He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. "

The Bible is silent on a great deal to do with creation and the natural world. No, there is no chapter and verse that will convince the flat earthers. However, the earth is a spinning globe and that has been amply demonstrated for over 2,000 years. I, and countless others, reject the notion that the Bible describes a flat earth. You and others read that into the text, but that does not make it so.

I am reasonably intelligent, but I cannot begin to understand FE proponents. And seriously, what difference does it make? Believing something does not make it true and not believing does not make it false. All that FE proponents achieve is to create division and diversion. And for what? Who is saved by believing the earth is flat?

1 Corinthians 2:2
"For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." Try that instead.
