Only one?

I think they have to admit and acknowledge that ALL sin is unable to be washed by man, or cleaned, and they need God to save them, because they can not save themselves..

when we repent, we repent of known and unknown sins, and admit to God, there is alot I need to learn. I acknowledge I have sinned, I am sinning, and I will sin against you. For this reason, I can't save myself. I NEED YOU TO SAVE ME..

For all have sinned and fall short
Need know of only one sin....I have already said we should repent of all known sins and need faith and trust towards God to cleanse us of all.

"I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people."
Jeremiah 31:33

So one group say they know God, that they know the truth, and only they
can deliver the church from its brain washing.

When asked can they read the law without condemnation? No
Is the law and the love of righteousness echoing in their hearts? No

So they cannot be these people with Gods law in their hearts.

Also if plainly they disobey love, respect, integrity, honesty, openness, truth,
discovery of faith and insights, they are not what they claim to be, and scripture
is not their foundation of authority but some other teaching.

And when you read the bulk of scripture it teaches something different than their
theology does.

Jesus says this :-

"If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person."...
"There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day. "
John 12:47-48

It's alright. I will wait for you to catch up in your reading.

True babes in Christ need to have faith towards God.
Yes, if they d not have faith, they are not even saved thought. so they would not even be babes in christ.

My previous comments mainly concern the fact that many deny that the law was placed in their heart and thus convicts them as sinners in need of a savior.

Mind if I ask who. I have never in my 40 year journey as a christian all over the united states heard anyone say this.

Do they need the full law explained? No God has placed in their hearts what is right and wrong if they are honest with themselves. However the lack of common sense shows the lack of honesty of many people.

Proverbs 2:7-9New Living Translation (NLT)

7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
8 He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.
9 Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go.
the things of God are foolish to those who are not his. Common sense is out the window.

To a babe in christ, he is learning common sense as he or she is being sanctified..

The elementarty principles would be like elementary school read write and arithmatic. The meat would be high school and college.

sorry sis, I am not sure what your meaning here. so do not want to misunderstand you.

I will say this, When we stand on judgment day, I thin we will learn of many many sins we commited we did not know were sin, or did not know we even did them (forgot)

so in my view, it is impossible to repent of every ACT of sin.. But we can repent of sin before we are saved.

Royalscot, you need to check yourself and your posts. I don't know why you are being contentious.

I have not called you a teacher at all, much less a false one.

I do say you accuse me falsely and continue to do so. If that makes you a liar then you have given yourself that title because I have never called you that.

You want to make a difference between "Jewish believers" and "gentile believers" and that is sour milk.

Paul says there is One Spirit and NO difference between gentile or jews, men or women, freed men or slaves. If in Christ all are equal. All are beloved adopted children of God. Sealed with the HOLY Spirit.

The law - reading it for the first time

The first time I read the law of Moses I was surprised how complete and fair it was.
For a book of law written 1400 BC, it still covers things that are as applicable today
as when it was written.

It was like reading something that I agreed with, and I was waiting for something that
I would ride back in horror about. Some things certainly need working through around
slaves, marriage, walking away from Israel, sabbath, but the whole system is a fantastic
whole. So I find peoples shock at the law and a sense of condemnation they get strange,
because this has never been my reaction. Rather a light shinning in the darkness and
a Holy God reaching out to lost mankind.

milk of the gospel -

Paul rebukes corinth for loyalties to individuals rather than the truth itself.
He equate loyalty to a person as something from this world, rather than loyalty
to Christ is what matters.

If one is putting Christ first, the preacher matters less than the aspect of walking
with Jesus they are highlighting.
i agree in part, to what you said.

this is milk of the history to a christian teachings or walk.
the problem is paul was killed before 70ad, the bible was in hibernation many years .(to keep it short)
and so were many of the other apostles killed. by the jewish or romans.

the split to from jewish nation or religion to christian teachings.
the jewish nation or the law they used continued up to 70ad ,or ended the religious parts to that nation because it needed a temple of stone. its law and religions practice combined. and would ask modern jewish how do you get forgiveness for your sin , if there is no temple to take the animal to.and modern christian who follow this law, do you take an animal to the temple for forgiveness. we know god gave them this law.. however it never made them god or equal to gods wisdom.

by rejecting the saviour . and his life and death, and conquering death. they have rejected everything god has done for them. has no value to an unbeliever.

and because of the apostles that continued in christian teachings, you have a new testament account. in the bible.

they are not jewish rabbis they are telling people about jesus christ.

the old testament
gives an account to how the rabbi were given the law of moses etc

if they do not know this , then they are in danger of what etc

Need know of only one sin....I have already said we should repent of all known sins and need faith and trust towards God to cleanse us of all.
This is true and it's how it happened in my own experience. When I read and saw that it was true in the gospels, that God existed, the only thing I could keep saying over and over was I'm so sorry, I didn't know, I didn't know. My only repenting was to be so sorry I had ignored Him and had not believed He existed. I didn't even have the slightest thought in my head of listing all my sins and saying I was sorry for each one. My only horror was that I had ignored God and said He didn't exist.

It's cuz of this statement you can't understand what I mean:

Mind if I ask who. I have never in my 40 year journey as a christian all over the united states heard anyone say this.
I have heard folks from other religions say they don't need Jesus became they are righteous enough without Him. They want to try and keep the law as they know it, like the Israelites in the desert. They didn't want to hear directly from God but wanted to try and keep the law and have the policemen leave them alone.

Until they agree with the conviction of God that they are sinners in need of a savior, they can't receive faith towards God for their salvation.

Oh Peter let's not go there.
I know this sentiment.
I was surprised by David talking about Gods law being wonderful, His precepts
Holy and right. The law is Gods expression of what righteousness looks like,
how justice works out, what responsibility is, how commitment and obligation
binds us.

Paul the pharisee, this was his heart also, and he never lost it. We have the whole
scripture for teaching, for guidance, for wisdom, so we need to use it properly.
And those who wish not to do so need to be recognised and understood for what
they stand for. It is the reality of walking with Christ, do bring all things into the light.

ok, I thought you just meant Christians.. Not the world. SO yes, I had your context wrong, thats why I asked, forgive me

Yes, I agree 100% thank you for the clarification.

when you want to read what I said again, and try to understand, then come back with maybe a question, or anything other than a slam. I will be happy to listen to your question and respond.

Nothing I see in this post directly relates to anything I said.

you mean you cannot answer . so your side tracking by avoiding the point.

what you have been asked, given you said repent, now what law did your repent from.
never mind adding to what i have said. answer what you were asked.

what law did you repent from to get the holy spirit, or did you believe the same as cornelious that god sent jesus christ.

Reading these scriptures, baptism indicates the point in a believers life when we die to the flesh and are buried with Christ, washed clean through His blood shed for the remission of sins. It is when the Holy Spirit descends upon us like a fire to burn up the hay and stubble of our lives.

Like stunned said, it can happen differently for each believer. For John Wesley it happened at aldergate when he felt a warmth in his heart. It is interesting to see the difference between his sermons before and after. Before he taught a more legalistic gospel and after he spoke more of grace and mercy.

Grace, you made some excellent points about how it might be referring to the Jewish cleansing rituals. I agree that the water baptisms might refer to those ceremonies.

I agree there is only one baptism that truly matter. Only one baptism is able to save people and make them children of God, the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

However why are people in Acts baptised by water?

Why was Jesus baptized by water?

Why did Jesus wait until he was thirty to be baptized by his cousin John? Why did unborn John recognize Jesus as Messiah, but full grown need the sign of a dove a lighting upon Jesus and a voice from heaven saying "This is my beloved son"?

Trying to fix a bottle but still wondering about those things.
I think...there is no way to convey any spiritual thing other than to say: it is like thus and thus. We have to have some example or we have absolutely nothing to try to comprehend because it is so out of the realm of anything we have experienced thus far in life on earth.

So we need some sort of picture. And we have the sacraments of the church. They aren't the true spiritual thing but...they portray it.
Marriage portrays being joined to Christ.
Communion portrays that unexplainable thing where we eat a meal together with our Lord.
Water baptism portrays the Baptism with the Spirit.

None of those things is the spirit and truth. He performs these sacraments IN us, in spirit and truth. They simply portray the true sacraments of God.

I am drawn to the problem of adultery and desire.

As people we meet certain people, fall in love and get married. For some sexual attraction is very
strong and dominates a lot of their thoughts and aspirations. For others not so.

We will always meet people who we could have got involved with, but are now in covenant with
another. So the tension is always, if only xxx then we would be here and not there. But this is all
biological, hormones, behaviour, emotions running wild, yet people will overthrow whole families,
deep hurts, just to follow a new union where the image appears better but soon becomes the same.

But real intimacy is so much deeper, and working with who we are without falling victim to biology
is real victory. In most marriages you end up, though starting in passion, ends in mixed feelings and
compromise, sometimes tenderness, sometimes real hurt and bitterness. And each new one goes the
same way, as I have witnessed with one man after 3 marriages and a final affair.

So we are called to find a fellowship and awareness above this. Jesus did. Mary had a serious
background yet they were both happy to share affection and appreciation between the two.

This is where I start to talk about real spiritual maturity. It is so much more than fleeting emotional
states.

I am not trying to wield anything, I have never tried this.
My theme is the heart, and how we work on the inside and how Jesus desires to walk with
us here.

For most of my christian life, it is the inside that has fascinated me, and how to convey
Christs love deep in my soul to others, without it just becoming flim flam, wishy washy
soap suds.

Dude, Get off your high horse. or you will be placed on ignore.

Rom 1 speaks of all people from the beginning of time, So your argument is with Paul.

Abraham had no law, yet he repented As did Noah and everyone else before law As I already explained, If you have a problem reading or understanding what I said, then ask a question.

The origional post you responded to. I said there was a difference between repenting of dead works, and repenting of sin in my view, I DID NOT JUDGE ANYONE, yet you accuse me falsley. because you did not understand what I said.

So if you have a question ask, Otherwise, Go away.
