We have a saying in our church, that animals in the mountains even come down to the valley to feed. That we grow the most in the valley.
brings psalm 23 to mind. which says it all.

ahh, how do you explain the fast growth rate of JW's, Mormons and other so called "Christian" sects or cults? Wasn't the gate supposed to be narrow? Just because the Charismatic Christian movement might be growing doesn't mean the thing you suggest it means, maybe it means most of them are on the wide path, excepting what is cool or popular at the moment.
We walk by faith and not by sight. For the sight crowd to grow
just doesnt seem significant. Unless.........

Let's compare apples to oranges and then discuss the price of tea in China.

You know what is odd? You said this thread was not your "cup of tea" and you no longer wanted to post on this thread. Since then you have posted 10 (and counting) times. So I assume you do want to discuss this topic?

You have mentioned several times, "We walk by faith and not by sight. For the sight crowd to grow
just doesnt seem significant. Unless.........". Doesn't the bible say miracles are the result of faith? Would you like some scriptures on that?

Well, now that we have once again moved away from the topic of dreams and dream interpretation and on to a debate about charismatic Christianity....(sigh).
let's see if it's related....oh look:

I would like to point out that almost half of all protestants claim to be charismatic, according to a Barna poll back in 2008. This poll shows that charismatic Christians are growing at a fast pace and not just among protestants. One third of all Catholics identify as being charismatic. Even as Charismatics grow, denominations like the Lutherans and Methodists (the frozen chosen)are decreasing.
and this is surprising news why again?:)

just as one would expect.

I have personally experienced some of these gifts of the Spirit although I do not speak in tongues. So for me it is a foregone conclusion that being charismatic is the only way to go, for me. I believe we are starting to see God pour out His Spirit to prepare for the tribulation.

The Barna Group - Is American Christianity Turning Charismatic?
right.
thanks for an informative post.

what's this ? oh ya....the Pentecostal GAP deception.

we are starting to see God pour out His Spirit to prepare for the tribulation.

The point was i was pulled back in after i left...see the reason i left was that to comment on the OP
became a blast against the one starting the thread, rather then a bible discussion. Then i saw a post to me.
Should be easy to understand that a change in the thread changed my desire to stay out...anyways...

Go ahead and show your scriptures. Why you want to do that i dont know but im fine with it.
Please make your point clear tho. Im familiar with Jesus comments about faith but not "your" point about it.

Sometimes it's about the effect someone's perspective has on them. Having three rocks in your pocket may solidify in your mind that something good is going to happen. Hence, when you pray with three rocks, you then go forward in the day hoping and believing in something good. So you are happy, hopeful, and upbeat. And of course, when you are happy, hopeful and upbeat, you tend to attract that kind of thing into your life.

The three rocks in themselves are just rocks. It's what they do to you that matters as far as that kind of thing goes.

Sooner or later if your saved you "will" learn to walk by faith
And not with all the extra added gizmos...well id sure think so anyway.
I cant see the difference between supermighty powerful "gifts" and "good works"
Both are a self operated means of grace, which is not grace at all.

Im not against being endowed with grace and power. But i hear it being said
it is a tool used to get the grace and power. Hmmm...talk about "odd"

It depends on what faith and grace and all these terms mean to you, and more so what your focus is on religion aside from the 'logistics'. Is it for love? Is it for salvation? Is it for fear of hell? Is it for nothing? Is it because you are afraid? Is it because you are lonely? Is it because you are tired? Is it because you are experimenting?

These words are all subjective to the person's perspective; whether anyone likes that or not.

The word 'faith' may have a vague, widely understood dictionary definition. But every person emotes something different, and attaches something original to it.

True im a nut i like pocket thingys they make me happy:cool:
But they dont move God. He moves as He pleases, and answers prayer the same way.
But yes its our job to keep ourselves as long as it doesnt become superstitution then pinned to God.

Okay?:)
NO,not OK because it is Not Biblical. God does not change; Himself, howHe communicates, His commandments, His anything. He treats ALLpeople the same, desiring that WE become His friends, like Abraham. He gives spiritual gifts today just as He did in the OT. There is notime factor in the spiritual realm so to Him, there is no stopping ofthe giving for He IS the giver, always and forever.

Ask God for a dream, Zone, one that will confirm that it is He that is speaking to you. Or will you just chalk it up to pizza or some other spicy food? You discredit Him and credit the pizza and so you do not believe.

Sometimes God gives you a dream to simply encourage you. For example, when Gideon needed reassurance to fight the Midianites he was inspired through a dream and its interpretation.

Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream. "I had a dream," he was saying. "A round loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed." His friend responded, "This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands." When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he worshipped God. He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, "Get up! The LORD has given the Midianite camp into your hands." Judges 7:13-15

Well what if God likes it when you're happy and upbeat and hopeful? And he likes it when you put out good 'vibes' and make others happy too? I can't see why He wouldn't.

See where I'm going with this?

I don't really think it matters what particular rituals one attributes to themselves, or what specific superstitions. We ALL have them.

Like, it could be said that brushing your teeth is a superstition; because you KNOW (have ultimate faith) that your breath won't smell bad for the rest of the day. Because who wants to smell your bad breath, right?

You know what I'm kind of getting at?

But then your workmate brings you a garlic chicken sandwich.

I can identify with you on having a dream about a tornado and never getting caught in it. Actually, in my dream there were two tornado's really close to me and a few of my family members were with me. This was about a couple of years ago and I prayed to God about it. He revealed to me that he was warning me about a storm I was going to encounter in my life. You know how the bible talks about how we experience storms and trials in our lives. Anyway, the LORD assured me that the storm that was coming would not overtake me. He was going to carry me through it. Literally a week later those family members in my dream were given scary diagnoses. I had to suffer with a lot of my family members. It was like a life or death situation for them. Thankfully I was able to rest in God because he was guiding me through this. I was able to be strong for my family even when things didn't appear to be good. Now most of those people by the grace of God are completely healed. One family member even received Christ. It wasn't something that happened over night either, but there were a lot of answered prayers and my relationship with God grew stronger in the process.
