Think about this well...

It is the OSAS crowd that is NOT SURE OF THEIR SALVATION.

Why?

Because one day, THROUGH NO CHOICE OF THEIR OWN (since it is GOD who is HOLDING ON TO THEM)
they could discover they were NEVER SAVED TO BEGIN WITH!!

Either by gross sinning OR by just losing their faith!

I and those who agree with me, are much more secure in our faith,

Why?

Because it is our CHOICE to remain IN CHRIST.

YOU, OTOH, have no choice since choice and free will were taken away from you at "salvation".
If you DID still have FREE CHOICE, you wouldn't INSIST that salvation cannot be lost because God is holding on to you.

Think about it.

Speak for yourself.

If I do not KNOW I am saved, I have no hope.. If I have no HOPE I am not saved.

I was a prodigal son once for 5 years. I never doubted my salvation, I doubted my life..

Your the one who may one day doubt she was saved, Because you reject security IN CHRIST.

Hold on - insight No 2

There are believers who innocently are living their christian lives secure in Christ.
Along comes the demonic evil lie. You can fall away from Christ.

Oh no. The believers believe the lie, and start trying to please God, doing obedience
in the flesh, so walk in unbelief, so are then doomed to hell.

But wait, if you are saved and can never loose salvation, then unbelief or adding to
the gospel is impossible, because that would mean you can loose your salvation.

Oooooops.

It seems no matter how you try and make salvation once gained and then eternal,
even within its own theology, this does not work. Sorry guys, back to the drawing board.

This is why having an open mind leads you to the truth in Christ.
But can you really face the Living God, and come to terms with His promises?

that is what this is all about everyday. arguing against grace. they can talk around it, use a lot of religious rhetoric, but at the end it is arguing against the Grace of God, the only thing that saves us.
They do not understand it.

Grace, If I have ever been righteous enough I live by Gods perfect standard. I would be in the stage that I no longer nneed grace

Last I read, that is glorication.. And last I read. That does not happen until after the ressurection.

Examine all the wonderful good works Zacchaeus did, yes even before he was saved....THEN Jesus said salvation has come to you....How could he have done that, should Jesus have said; slow down Zacchaeus didn't you know that Im supposed to do tht for you, your making me look bad? How do people miss the real depths of Jesus teaching in simple child like stories..

What about the rich young ruler that walked away sorrowful. How come Jesus didn't tell Him don't worry God has a wonderful plan for your life, and I'm going to be doing IT ALL for you, so be not sorrowful? Again; These are child like stories in the bible that grown adults understand not? How can this be? Because their hearts have guile and they are still in rebellion to God and will receive nothing from God while they remain in that condition...

Jesus said there ears were dull of hearing, but if they should repent He would heal them...Open you ears
These strawman are getting old.

We can say the same to you. Try coming up with actual proof. and not just make these arguments which are meaningless. and go both ways.. They do not add to the conversation. and make you look proud.

James 4
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. [SUP]7[/SUP]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. [SUP]8[/SUP]Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. [SUP]9[/SUP]Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. [SUP]10[/SUP]Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

A double minded man (seeks the world and attempts to seek God also) thus looking for the best of both worlds, receives nothing from the Lord..

Some here seem to think that sin humbles them... no, it hardens the heart even to the point of silencing the conscience (seared with the hot iron of lust)

A proud and rebellious man receives NOTHING from the Lord...

Is that why you are receiving nothing from God Willy? Is that why your trying to work for it. instread of just getting on your knees so God can give it to you?

The tax collector removed all the rebellion and guile from His heart in repentance. you haven't EG. The prodigal son did the same "he arose out of the pig-pen of sin" of his own volition and never again to returned.....
Oh, SO EG is going around puffing how good he is. and trying to tell all the sinners how bad they are?

You need to start looking inside my friend, Not only do you not comprehend what sin is, You do not comprehend what true humility is either.

do you have anything to add. or are you just going to go around acting like a bully??

EG: Your true rebellion shows in a collection of over 35,000 posts..Most of which are rebellious to the truth in scripture. This is why you remain in a haze lashing out when others try to warn and teach you.....You sir, are a blind man, in a dark alley, looking for a black cat, at midnight....And even worse than that, you seek to show others the darkness, Woe unto the blind leading the blind..

The light that you perceive you see is darkness, and Jesus asked of such, just how great is that darkness.

Serious question - do you love Jesus because he can save you or because you love Him?

I grew up in a world where Jesus's words spoke to my heart, clearer and better than the
people around me. I fell in love with Him, and the life he offered.

Now when you love someone, security is not exactly high on your agenda, you love them.

Jesus did say this,

"Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them."
John 14:23

Now it is simple and clear cut. Love - obey.

Now getting the two to work in our hearts and why we have so many barriers, is
the next question.

But oddly to me, I am not hearing, we find this difficult because .... but Jesus
did not say this, it was just a joke to show how badly we fail.

This is just a self serving sinners argument who do not want to get right with
God but exalt their hearts above the throne of grace. God cannot sort them out,
the cross was not good enough, God does not understand how hard it is to walk
in His ways, hypocracy and failure is Gods way. Nooooooooo.

The power of the mind.
1. Through hypnosis the brain will recreate responses that do not exist
2. By believing something is true, your bodies nervous system will respond according to ones
perceptions.
3. In your mind you can have a different image than your real body and feel pain when your
brain says it is having pain, but in reality it does not exist.

So rather than things being static, we are very dynamic creatures capable of fantastic things,
but it is our fear and lack of love that constrains us into our limited and constrained lives because
of sin, pain and failure, so we are just too scared to take any more risks.

Jesus brought us victory, so through faith, walk in it.

Paul must have been one confused man.

He taught how to be absent from the body was to be present with God. He taught how he recieved all the blessings and inheritance from God.. And even given the seal of the spirit as a pledge to his eternal life.. Then had to worry he may lose all those things, and non of them would happen.

Thanks, but no thanks, I can not have faith in something that must be dependent on me.. or that is not set in stone..
Paul is not the one who was confused.

Hebrews 6:4-6
It is impossible for those who have once BEEN ENLIGHTENED, who have TASTED THE HEAVENLY GIFT, who have SHARED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT...

IF THEY FALL AWAY, to be brought back to repentence...

Now go ahead and show us all how ENLIGHTENED doesn't mean ENLIGHTENED, TASTED doesn't mean TASTED, SHARED doesn't mean SHARED.

What BETTER explanation of a "true" Christian.

Philippians 3:13-14
"...STRAINING toward what is ahead,
verse 14: "I PRESS ON toward the goal..."

Why would Paul have to show any EFFORT if he is saved forever??

Romans 11:22
"...To those who fell, severity, but to you, God's kindness IF YOU CONTINUE in His kindness, otherwise YOU TOO will be CUT OFF."

Please explain how IF doesn't mean IF, CONTINUE doesn't mean CONTINUE, OTHERWISE doesn't mean OTHERWISE, CUT OFF doesn't mean CUT OFF.

1 Corinthians 10:12
"So if you think you are standing firm, be careful that YOU DON'T FALL".

What does "FALL" mean??

There are more pasages.

It's CLEAR that one could FALL AWAY
He must STRAIN to HOLD ON to the faith
He must PRESS ON toward the goal
He can be CUT OFF
He can FALL

Yes. Ears should be opened so that the truth can be heard.

A closed mind

An open mind is searching out other points of view and understanding how the logic
of a position is created. Once that position is defined and an answer constructed,
it may well disagree with the position, but it has been considered.

A closed mind is just dismissing another position without addressing its points.

I have seen this done because the person is literally scared of the consequences
emotionally and how they approach life, will be affected by working through the
ideas. And this is a fear for some, because their foundation is not strong.

But if you are committed to finding the truth, and have real trust in Christ, we are
called to face the truth.

A simple test of this is, how many times did Jesus curse the fig tree? Once or twice?
How many times did Jesus overthrow the tables in the temple? Once or twice?

Now there are no definative answers to these questions, just a position you will be
happy with.

Now to a closed mind, asking these questions is shocking, but to an open mind, they
are pointing out the fragility of the gospel testimony, and where exact retelling of
incidents is important over the message that needs to be conveyed.
paragraph 2. you yourself do this many times daily, just answering with random rhetoric , and not never discussing anything. just lecturing us on how pure and righteous you are.

some on here do not see us as brothers and sisters, on equal ground. they think we need to be talked down to, and instructed on how to be saved. I for 1 am getting sick and tired of this.

Now when you love someone, security is not exactly high on your agenda, you love them.

"Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them."

37But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

EG-Your so afraid of works that it frightens you to death..You need to get over that fear because everyone is doing works everyday, its unavoidable. The question is; are you doing the works of God or the works of Satan. You not going to escape doing works....So please dispense with the childless works arguments, it only makes you look feeble in spirit..Man is a worker together with God saith Paul...His grace (spiritual empowerment) and our faith (steadfast obedience and fidelity from a heart that is pure and free from guile) to achieve a union of love that in no wise by any other means able to be attained.. So simple a child could understand, no?

Have you ever heard of transference arrogance? Google it if you haven't.
Now we need to hear about transference arrogance.

What next??

I thought the bible was enough to understand everything...

§Who is arrogant?

Those who say we must FOLLOW JESUS

or

Those who say it doesn't matter because one is ALWAYS SAVED no matter what?

What did Jesus say?

Matthew 19:2 8New American Standard Bible (NASB)

28 And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on [a]His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Someone here is Always saying how he likes to believe Jesus because Jesus is not a liar.

Does Mathew 19:28 mean ANYTHING to that person?
Or does he like to concentrate only on scripture that suits him??

Jesus is NOT liar.
Some here make Him out to be one...
with their constant twisting of scripture.
