I started this discussion and now i just realied that its pointless...
there are many theologians that study their whole lives and believes in Eternal securities others do the same thing and believe in predestination other don't believe in any of those.

The Bible is not wrong or contradicting we just can't understand everything, that is the reason why we need to have faith.
And not ignore anything the bible says. I talks about election, it also talks about eternal security and free will. I think our minds are just to limited to understand how they all make sanse together.

I think that only GOD and We ourselves can tell if we are saved or not.
Exactly, we can't know for certain, therefore we should take the safe route and believe that we can lose our salvation. If we believe we can lose our salvation we will be watchful lest we fall away.

Teaching that only some people are saved irresistibly can lead to various dangers, such as not preaching and not doing good works. Teaching that all men are offered salvation and can lose their souls results in rigorous preaching and good works.

ten virgins, 5 kept them trimmed 5 didn't, sheep and goats-didn't we cast out demons etc etc, but no love thy neighbour, begone unfaithful servant, forgiven ours sins yet if we can't forgive, given to the tormentors..... the only sure thing about salvation is to be grafted into the vine, to keep and obey and follow His commandments, write them upon our heart so it becomes a way of life, His life that flows thru us for its not i who lives but Christ who lives in me. Yet we all fall short no denying that yet we are to keep pressing on towards the mark, cant throw our hands up and just say 'well that how God made me'

it s the little foxes that spoil the vine- its the little things we neglect that destroy our relationship with God, footholds becomes strongholds becomes death of life that had God intended for us. Daily prayer "our Father who art in heaven" Jesus so right in showing us in that prayer the constant need for Father God in our life for the day we live, each day. No matter how much we all like to think we are righteous the whole time we are found righteous only in Him, a man asked Jesus what is the greatest commandment, Jesus answered Love God, and love thy neighbour, the man said you have answered well, Jesus said to him your close to the kingdom, not that he was in it, actions speak louder than words. Jesus walked the talked, alot of us "christians" talk alot without applying that talk to our walk.

I am happy you guys think like that!!!!

I belive in my heart that if we truly know Christ and love Him with all our hearts, we will want to serve Him with everything we have.
It doesn't mean we will be perfect, we will stiil have struggles, but because we have the Holy spirit in us, we will know our mistakes and we will strive for righteousness because we Love the Lord and want to bring Him glory.

amen, hence the need for us to carry our cross daily, to spend quality time with The Father Son and Holy Spirit(as one) daily in our secret place away from all distractions, o how light that yoke becomes, we are all slaves to someone, its who we choose to be our master, "on a straight road one can never get lost, take a turn along the way, easy as"

I think that it was Dietrich Bonhoeffer who said that in the quest to follow Jesus, to walk in His footsteps, that if we look to see if we are following or not, we have already taken our eyes off of Him.

When we loose sight of ourselves, when we no longer see ourselves as something we need to consider, then we have gained the sight of Him, the One we are following. Our God is a consuming fire. All things are burned up in His presence. The way of the cross is to loose oneself in Jesus, that Jesus might live through us.

I remember now how Mr. Bonhoeffer said it:
In the path of following Jesus, the path is so narrow, that if we take our eyes off of Jesus to see if we are on the path, we have already stepped off of the path.

Yes, Lord, more of You, and less of me.
