Look at Paul's life before the road event. Paul sat at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God. Acts 23:1, And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day. Does this sound like Paul fit the description of the natural man in 1 Cor 2:14? Or those in Eph 2:2-3? Most people, even today, mistakingly think their conversion is their new birth.
I havnt read all the posts here, but setting aside the debates. 
We know that man by faith, is given salvation in Jesus Christ through grace, God's gift!
Not by anything man does, lest he take pride in it!
One wonders sometimes as to why any person thinks anything is done of self, when one must acknowladge that everything, from breath to death, from the beginning to the last day, is by the hand of God.
For everything we are and know is created by the word of God!
One must see that all we recieve and know, is given by God Our Father in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
Before us is fire and water, we choose.
Life or death.
For God gives no streangth for sin.
But provides all needed to His children.
By faith, we are sealed unto Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh.
By refusal, death.
It seems to me faith is about saying yes to all that God Our Father gives in Jesus , through His Holy Spirit.
Thus all is given, because when we say yes through faith, we are called by faith to recieve His salvation, His rightousness, His will, His work done in us.
We are sealed in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh, and recieve all in Jesus.
For everything is of God, in Jesus.
For when all is His creation, who are we to claim anything, except that all is Gods gift in Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh!

It's all over the Bible...God wants people to hear the Good News and accept it. He does NOT take pleasure in people going to hell.
