Most Christians, the born again.......have issues with sinning and confessing and striving and feeling guilty.
So, does that sound like "God's Strength"?

So, why isn't it?
Its because all that is on you. You are doing all that. That's all of you. That's all your effort and willpower. That is you trying to manifest your own discipleship by SELF.
And Saint, there is no God in that. There is only you in all that failing, and that is why you fail.
Jesus said...>"Apart from me, you can do Nothing". And that is why you are doing nothing, trying to produce discipleship.

In Christianity, to "do NOTHING", while trying really hard to be good and do right, is to exit here....>"Apart from ME you can do NOTHING"......Jesus said, and most Christians are doing nothing, to perfection.
I bet you were taught by a do nothing that ..."Christianity is sinning and confessing so expect it".

The Apostle Paul was a "do nothing" at one point. And during that time he said he was "blameless in the Law".
He was also about to have a nervous breakdown because the harder he tired by His Self effort to to stop sinning, the more he became this.....>"""that which i would do, i dont do, and that which i dont want to do, i DO"'''.
So, that was Paul spinning his wheels of self effort doing nothing.
He was trapped by the "curse of the Law" which is this....>"The power of SIN......is the LAW".

Eventually he got these revelations......

1.) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law
2.) "Apart from me , YOU can do NOTHING".

Which led Paul to write Philippians 4, that said....>"all my doing", all my worrying about law and commandments, all my trying to be GOOD, = "do nothing", and He labeled it "Dung".
Do you know what Dung is? That is what Paul defined all his willpower and self effort and striving against sin..... = "dung".
All his worrying about commandments and Law....."Dung"...... All His trying by self effort to be HOLY....."Dung".
And once he got to that revelation he found this....>"CHRIST always gives me the Victory".

Notice Saint that Paul said something very specific... He said that he was GIVEN the power to live holy..."VICTORY".
Then he wrote, "when i am weak, then CHRIST IS STRONG IN ME"....."then i am strong".......and so the more that Paul stopped trying to "Live it', and turned to God's Grace to find the POWER to overcome, the more he wrote like this...."It is not i who live,...(it is not me trying to be PERFECT) but its Christ in ME< who lives HOLINESS through ME"..
See that?..... That's my paraphrase, of what it means to rest in God's Grace instead of trying to be good.
Thats what happens when you stop trying to PERFORM for God, and learn how to EXIST in the Grace of God.

Look at Ephesians 6. It says....."be strong in the LORD and in the Power of HIS Might".......not yours. Not your willpower or your trying to be anything.

Listen.
You are trying to be perfect......And yet, think about this...........just how perfect is your perfection on your best day, as compared to GOD's Holiness?
Saint, your perfection, no matter how perfected, is like a dark stain on the Sun as compared to God's Righteousness.
See that?
So Stop trying to become what isn't even that good, when you compare it to God.
And once you see that, you'll begin to understand something about this verse....

You have become (born again) = """"The righteousness of God, in Christ""".

Now look at Isaiah 30. part of verse 15....."in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength".

Now, "quietness" in this verse means REST. And "confidence shall be your strength", means to have only confidence in your position in God's family as a Son of God, and a Daughter of Christ.
----------------------------------------

What causes failed discipleship and the sinning and confessing issue....?
It that you have not understood that you are trying to do, what has already been given to you as a Gift.
"the GIFT of Righteousness"....>"the GIFT of Salvation"
You are not yet walking in the renewed mind that exist here....

Romans 10: """"For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God."""

You are trying to be good and be righteous and holy, instead of resting in the confidence and security found in knowing that God has already made you RIGHTEOUS.

See that?
You are already "the righteousness of God, in Christ." if you are born again, and not just water baptized.
You are already. "ONE with God"... You are already, "Made Righteous".... Saint, you have been given "the gift of Righteousness" if you are born again.
You can't become any more righteous, and you can't lose the righteousness you have BECOME.
See, your born again Spirit is JOINED TO GOD and CHRIST, and that is why you are as Righteous as they are....as how can you be a part of the HOLY SPIRIT and not be RIGHTEOUS?
See it?

Saint...You dont have to try to do it.
You only have to learn how to exist as KNOWING who you are "in Christ".
This is how you "work out your salvation"....its to understand who you are become "in Christ'". and live in that MIND,that is the renewed mind.
And when you do that, you are walking in the Spirit.
Its in this KNOWING, you find rest that God's Grace causes. And once you live there in your real faith, then like Paul you will begin to see this happen.....>"'""Christ always gives me the VICTORY"
This can only begin to happen when you learn to only see yourself as God sees you, at all time.
God only sees you as "made righteous"....>"the righteousness of GOD, in Christ"
Most Christians don't have a problem with this as you might think we all know that guilt when we sin and we all have sinned but there is a distinct line that is crossed that does not bring good fruit.
See me personally I struggle with self worth and am prone to attacking myself severely without mercy when I sin I don't just feel guilt I think of myself as lower than the dirt that worms eat I am scum nothing but filth and shouldn't dare even ask for forgiveness, this is unhealthy and only produces rotten fruit. A coworker of mine is in the new believer stage and is listening to a pastor who teaches that one should be without sin now she is terrified she is going to hell even though she gave her life to Christ she is constantly in fear and has panic attacks.

Sadly she does not know his love and grace and those who teach law before grace are the reason for it if more taught about his love and grace and how he sees us perhaps others like her would be spared this agony your post is needed in the church and especially for new believers like her

Forgiveness of sins isn't. We must use the gift we've been given to resist sin.
Christ deniers and Cross rejectors always try to prove that they keep themselves saved.

If you can keep yourself saved, then that would be because you died on the Cross.
I dont think you qualify as Savior, but im sure you will continue to argue that Salvation is all about you doing it.

listening to a pastor who teaches that one should be without sin
this pastor is a heretic.
He or she does not understand the Cross, and they do not understand what "made righteous" means... and that is why they talk about SIN, instead of being Made RIGHTEOUS that is "the Gift of Salvation."

Its quite possible that this pastor is not even saved, as when you deal with people who talk about "here is how you keep yourself saved".......or "here is how you can lose your salvation" ....then you are dealing with a SELF SAVER......

= "here is what im doing to stay saved"....>"let me show you my list of things i do, and try not to do, to STAY SAVED"

See that?
That is a LEGALIST.......that is a person who is NOT Trusting In Christ to get them to heaven.
Paul teaches that this person is "fallen from Grace' or....they are not born again.

You can "keeps his commandments" and not be born again, = hell after you die.

why is that?

figure that out.

Sorry but you will need to provide scripture if you expect people to take you seriously.

The unsaved need the Gospel. We are discussing His people, brothers and sisters in Christ.

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15

God haters and haters of the brethren no longer have eternal life remaining in them.

If I covet my brothers things, his wife, his belongings so that I steal from him and commit adultery with his wife, is that loving my neighbor or hating him?

Sorry but you will need to provide scripture if you expect people to take you seriously.
I post them.
They dont help you, because you are not related to the understanding of the Blood Atonement.

You can read Romans 3:21-28, for 100 yrs, and you will not change in your belief system, as you have been indoctrinated to the point, that you are your own savior.
Let me prove it to you.

Here is Salvation......>"The blood of Jesus that saved you, keeps you saved".

See that? That is God's Gift of Salvation......That is God on the Cross, AS Salvation, that is the only way to go to heaven. John 14:6

And when you read this, its as if you are looking at a dark hole.
You dont see it, and you can't see it, because you are so long led into self righteousness and self saving.
You are this, and everyone who is, can't realize it, as that is how deception functions... Galatians 5:4

Thats what you can "take seriously".

See, your Legalism, is the enemy of God's Grace and you have no idea why.

Still no scripture.

I wouldn’t trust my and my families eternal life with a person who doesn’t know or understand the scriptures or the doctrine of Christ.

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
2 John 9

  • does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God.

Yours is scripture-less man made doctrine, that rejects the doctrine of Christ.

Jesus warned us to remain “in Him”

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

Here is how the scriptures teach us to remain “in Christ”

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. John 3:24

I just posted another Scripture.
You missed that one as well.

Where is the scripture in this post?

You do understand what happens to liars?

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8

I post scripture to make my point so people can see and be aware of what Jesus taught us, through His Apostles.

A question on your claim,
Give me an example on overcoming sin in your way. That is without cross bearing and rejecting self. Let's say I'm fighting with jealousy against a person and I ask for God's grace and strength to overcome it. I'm not trying on my own. I constantly pray for it yet it's doesnt go off in a day. It'll put a good fight until I literally deny myself. During those days I have to constantly confess my jealousy every night because I have sinned against God, untill the day I don't do it anymore. Now how will you overcome this without working through God's grace by just saying I'm already righteous ?

A question on your claim,
Give me an example on overcoming sin in your way. ?
I'll do better then that for you.

I'll give you 7.

Paul said......"Christ always gives me the Victory".

Paul said..."You have been set free from sin".

Paul said...>"Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.""""".

Paul said...>"as many as be perfect"

Paul said you are to become "the fullness of the Stature of Christ".

Paul wrote....> "As Jesus IS......so are the born again, IN THIS WORLD".

John teaches....>>"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.""""

I don't do it anymore. Now how will you overcome this without working through God's grace by just saying I'm already righteous ?
IF you are not "the righteousness of God, in Christ" then you are water baptized, but not born again.

Let me explain the Cross.

On the Cross, Jesus paid for all sin.....
He didnt miss any.
So, when a person comes to God, by Faith in Christ, what God does, is ......He places your sin on Jesus, as if you are on the cross dying for it, and you are given "the righteousness of God, in Christ"., as if you are perfectly holy.

What is that? That is your born again SPIRIT< that has BECOME...>>"a NEW CREATION">

See that "new Creation". ?????? .....that is the BORN AGAIN, Spirit, that has become JOINED TO GOD.....as "One with God, in Christ.

This means that if you are born again, you have returned to the same relationship with God that ADAM had before He sinned.
Being born again is as if you have never sinned, because Christ has done this for you...>"became sin". on the Cross.
That is what He is doing on the Cross, for you.

This is the DIVINE EXCHANGE, where You become , as born again....>"the righteousness of God", and Jesus becomes all your sin.

This is the BLOOD ATONEMENT. which is to be "made Righteous".

This is what it means to be "saved".
As you have been given "the GIFT of Righteousness" that is this...>"The Gift of Salvation".

This is why you are become , if you are born again, and not just water baptized......"""""a NEW CREATION, in Christ."""

It does no one any good to present only HALF the truth.

So while the righteousness of Christ is indeed imputed to every believer, we all are commanded to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Which truth you have conveniently ignored. We are also commanded to take up our cross daily, to crucify or mortify the flesh daily, and to examine ourselves daily.
Ah, the bucket of cold water man arrives to put a dampener on everything.

Most Christians live like Paul in Romans 7. Sometimes they just quit trying. We need to learn to leave Romans 7 cycle of defeat and move into the wonderful victory of Romans 8.
