Legalist who are water baptized but not born again love to find some symbolic verse and try to teach it as literal.

Your verse is symbolic, its not literal., but i will teach it as how to understand it, spiritually.

And to "abide" in Jesus, is not to keep commandments and try to be a good boy or girl.

Notice that the verse says.....>"IN ME">

= To be "IN HIM".......is to be BORN AGAIN....>"in Christ".
That is how you ABIDE "IN HIM">......as you can't get "IN HIM" by keeping commandments or by trying to be GOOD.

You have to be BORN AGAIN "INTO" or "in Him".......as that is how you "ABIDE" in Christ.

Most Christians are taught badly right from day one., and on Forums its the worst sort of self saving Cross rejecting legalism that is 95% of all that is ever taught.
Christians are always taught......>"ok, you are saved, now go out there and TRY TO KEEP YOURSELF SAVED".... GET Back under that law and those commandments that can't save you to begin with, and try to keep them as yourself up on the Cross trying to stay saved".

= "Apart from me you can do nothing"........>"Fallen from Grace".

God has done something very interesting as Christ on the Cross., and THANK YOU JESUS !!!!
He actually came down here to PROVIDE not only forgiveness from Sin, but power to live the Holy life that He wants us to live.
He does it all, and we are to receive it, and exist in it., as real faith in the RIGHT MIND.
Philippians 1:6

Most Christian block God's power, as they try to live Holy by self effort, and when you try to do that, you actually block God's Grace that IS the only power to live the perfected discipleship.
Christians actually cause themselves to live unholy, by trying to do for themselves, only what God can do for you and through you : as "Christ in you".

And why do Christians do this?
Its because we, by nature, want to get some credit for it.

So, that is self righteousness, and its natural for the flesh to pursue it... and that is why Paul tells us to ""renew our minds"", as if we dont, we end up trying to be the savior, thinking this is real discipleship.

James 4:1-2 says we have battle within us because we don't ask God in the right way. If we try to overcome flesh with the power of flesh we will fall. Instead we have to submit ourself to God to get his strength and still we have to fight.

Lastly, Faith without work is dead faith (James 2:17 & Titus 3:8).

Make one thing clear to me. Are you saying after saved by Christ we will never sin again. Since all our sins are forgiven we don't have to worry about fighting flesh and devil in our daily life. Is that your claim ?

If you are trying not to sin, you already have, for sin begins in the heart. If the thought is in your mind and then you try to not do that thing, it has already happened. All sin begins in the heart, whether or not you do the deed physically.

That becomes their RUINED Christianity.. for LIFE.

How do you spot these deceived?
Ask them.....>"Do you believe you can lose your salvation".?????
If they say """ yes""""......then ask them...>"why are you not trusting in Christ to keep you saved, and get you into heaven".. ?????
WHERE DID YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST GO ?????????
Who STOLE YOUR FAITH FROM YOU ??!!...........or as Paul says....>"who has bewitched you, that you no longer obey the truth">...?
They will stare at you like a tree full of owls, or they will write 100 posts a week on "christian forums" , talking about all the things they are doing to try to get into heaven as they hang on the Cross of their own self righteousness....
For instance ......Works like..... commandment keeping, and water baptism, and enduring, and all sorts of SELF EFFORT that proves they have NO FAITH IN CHRIST at all< to get them into heaven.

= Fallen from Grace. says this......."yes, i can lose my salvation".

Paul says these people are......>"Bewitched".....""Fallen from Grace"......and ... "In the Flesh".
And they live on forums trying to ruins your faith in Christ, by replacing it with WORKS and WATER.
Many many many denominations are created by these deceived people who are taught deception and they teach it, because they believe it.

So, when a believer does not understand HOW to BELIEVE correctly, as born again, according to the RULES that govern the Kingdom of God were they exist SPIRITUALLY, then they are lost in dark, yet, born again.
Or, you can be in a really "damned" situation.......You can be religious but lost......playing the Christian, thinking Christ is in you, because you belong to a certain church, or because you believer water is your salvation.
Reader, if water can save you, then Christ didn't have to die on the Cross.....

So, if a person is not THAT situation....., if they are truly born again yet, lost in the revolving carnal door of "sinning and confessing".....then the issue is that they are in the wrong Struggle., because their faith is broken.

Jesus-Leads...You stated "struggle".....and the reality is..... most believers are in the wrong fight.
They are fighting their LUST, (their flesh) when Paul told you to : "reckon it DEAD".......not to fight it.
Why are you fighting what is dead?
You are fighting what has been "crucified on the Cross with Christ", the "old man".
So, when you fight him, the Law empowers him to beat you and you SIN, again.

These believers..... are swinging in the dark, spinning their wheels, thinking that Christianity is all about trying not to sin again and making sure they get a good parking spot and the same seat every Sunday in their building.
And real Christianity..... its not that at all......as that is the wrong struggle and mindset, and that fight leads to discipleship failure 100% of the time, as proven by the fact that this believer can't stop sinning and confessing....and usually its the SAME sin.
Ahhhhhhhh.

I wrote a song about this deceived situation that so many believers are involved in, and the 1st verse says.

See that?
That is what a believer is doing until they learn who they are in Christ, as "made righteous". AS.... "the righteousness of God, in Christ".

So, let me state the real struggle we are in, as i have shown you now the wrong struggle that most believers are in that is not the real struggle, that they can never win.

See that struggle?
Thats the real one that can be won vs, the self struggle against the "old man" that is already "crucified with Christ" , that you can't beat or resist if you fight him..... because the "power of sin is the law", and this dominion will cause your flesh to sin.

How do you deal with the REAL Struggle.. ?
First you have to be in the real struggle, by FAITH, not by works.
You do this......"put on the whole armor of GOD", so that you may be able to withstand in the "evil day", against the power, (wiles) of the Devil.""""

Most people are trying to BE the "armor of God" by willpower and self effort, vs, putting ON the Armor of God, that is God's Spiritual power that exists as this reality........"Christ always gives me the Victory".......Paul teaches.
