Did I mention there are people groups in the world today, that do not have a written copy of the Bible or NT in their native language. I wonder how those missionaries reach those people groups?
I actually went on trip once with one such missionary and we were witness to an Elijah Mt. Carmel experience. This happened just a few years ago.
A young teenage native girl in a village came down with a fatal fever. SO the villeinage leaders came to our missionaries asked them if Jesus could do anything. Before that could be answered the area medicine man came up with his black majick bag. He was telling the village people we were no good, that God and Jesus could do nothing for her, only his payers and potions would work.
So not wanting to be rude, our missionary friends asked the medicine man if they could share a story with him, his assistants and all the village, the MM granted this as did the elders of the village.
The missionaries told them the story of Jarius daughter. Everyone one was amazed but the MM, he told the story of pharaohs magicians and how Moses failed. He left out the part of Moses rod turning into a snake and eating the other 2 snakes.
So the missionaries said, hey the girl is dying, we give you 2 hours to pray and do whatever you can to save her, under the condition when you are done,w e get to Pray to our God and do the same.
Exactly 2hours and 15 minutes later a young girl, who was near death, was walking around and eating after missionaries prayed for her.
The missionaries then told everyone including the MM and his assistants about eh Story of Elijah on Mt. Carmel...the whole village including the MM and his assistants received Jesus!
That MM is now a head of a church today in another village.
Romans 10.17 says:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
Do not ever assume the world is your view of it! Many Christians do and people are goign to hell, because of it!

Hi, I have had of many tales told also, the church I go to has a lot of
missionary connections.
I also have a lot of African friends and you tend to find that in places
where people are desperate, where there are no cosy medical clinics,
vaccines, money to pay for bills etc. People rely on God and their faith
far more than in the west. In those circumstances where Jesus is the
first and only choice, miracles abound.
Reminds me of the psalm, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord.
In the west we tend to think we are oh so sophisticated, maybe we have
become so sophisticated that we have lost the need to reach out to
God in the same way.
