you need to change your P to a B.

perhaps you should spend more time looking at Christians in England and how to bring Christianity back from the death you perceive there?

Being a Brit I'll offer my two pennance worth

The Gospel of Grace, I am guessing is preached plainly, and fully from far more pulpits in the US than on the UK. I base this on the fact that on this website,
there seems to be far more people who fully accept the Gospel Paul was given to preach, than on a mainly British website I spent much time on

It is IMHO the true Gospel that will fill churches(or leave them empty if not preached)
Finally a post i can agree on. The Gospel...the power of God...is what is needed...not squabbles
about how we defend ourselves.

thanks for the response Mark. it reminds me that this site should be about preaching plainly the Gospel of Grace and not debating with those who would condemn people for having guns when God plainly does not.

I find it legalistic and false and offensive to place man made laws and traditions about weapons by twisting scriptures to condemn people who use guns,

when God does not forbid them. He forbids soldiers from falsely accusing people and taking bribes.

He did not tell them to give up their weapons or not defend people and we are all called to be soldiers for Christ.

Our weapons most often are NOT guns but the whole idea against weapons at all is a false man made guilt trip.

Britain: the most spied on nation in the world

A stark warning that Britain is turning into a Big Brother society, where the lives of millions are routinely monitored and tracked from cradle to grave, is given today by the Government's privacy watchdog.

Richard Thomas, the Information Commissioner, says more and more personal data is being collected and stored on all of us, both by the state and big business.

A study commissioned by his office concludes that within 10 years, surveillance will be all-pervasive, spurred on by Government claims that it is needed to fight terrorism.

"The combination of CCTV, biometrics, databases and tracking technologies can be seen as part of a much broader exploration, often funded with support from the US/UK 'war on terror', of the use of interconnected 'smart' systems to track movements and behaviours of millions of people in both time and space," the report says

CCTV boom has failed to slash crime, say police

Massive investment in CCTV cameras to prevent crime in the UK has failed to have a significant impact, despite billions of pounds spent on the new technology, a senior police officer piloting a new database has warned. Only 3% of street robberies in London were solved using CCTV images, despite the fact that Britain has more security cameras than any other country in Europe.

Was Abraham right to take up arms when the Lord would have handled the business?
Remebber Abraham grew weak when he listened to his wife Sarah over God and slept with Hagar

Now Lets look at what righteousness is and then you decide if Abraham should have taken up arms

Deuteronomy 6:24-25

24 And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.

righteousness is keeping the commandments of God

when Melchizedek came to Abraham with the blood and wine the Lord had to clean Abraham up
when is what the passover(blood and wine) does

Abraham should have listened to God when he said he will "curse them that curse you"

anyway Abraham as we had his struggles also
I don't think that Abraham is the weak one. Perhaps you should consider another.

Anyway, Melchizedek commended him for his actions, and said that he was blessed by God and received a tithe. Abraham did exactly what he was supposed to to. He protected his family.

Paul said that Abraham's faith was counted to him as righteousness (Romans 4). And yet Abraham took up arms to save his family. What an example he should be for you. And yet, you in your arrogance would instead find fault in him, because Abraham's actions, and Melchizedek's commendations make folly of your self righteous opinions.

BI takes a lot of debunking though, goodness me.
serious?

Matthew 15:24
He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

is this the part where Jesus went to some tin mine in UK with Joseph of Arimathea?

I cannot truthfully say one way or the other. It is postulated Jesus was in the UK with his uncle, but I wasn't there. :)

twisted fantasy at best, sinister heresy more accurately.

oh but Liz is sitting on the Stone of Scone!
she's keeping the Throne of David warm for Jesus.

Jesus called His sheep while He walked the earth and they were exactly where God said they would be in time for that.

HINT: not London

Daniel 9
24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

No you havnt....maybe i should go back a reread every post i may have missed
one but your use of the bible is terrible. Do a study on self defense.

For instance protecting yourself isnt vengeance which was one of your early posts.
So that doesnt fit the OP. Nor is it good for you to say it does.

If youd like ill go through everyone of your posts and explain to you how
u are using the bible improperly to push your personal view. Is that what u want?

And what do you mean will i flatly reject truth...in relation to Jesus not using a weapon?
Thats a silly one. He didnt drive a car either..did u see Him disappear a few times. or did
you notice He blew a troop of soldiers back. Are u saying we are to do that? Or forget
He commanded his disciples to have enuf swords to protect themselves.

Im not willing to spend alot of time here but if youd like ill sure correct your theology.
Up to you. I think you need to use the bible differently...possibly seeing the HS's intent.
Who are you protecting yourself?

Why would evil or a evildoer come your way if you are servant of God?

When he comes your way how do you know The Lord did not send him?

When The Lord send him how can your weapon protect you

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I don't think you know the difference between theology and the word of God

How do you The Lord has not sent a evil spirit at you

Psalm 78:49 (KJV)
He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them .

He destroyed Egypt by sending evil angels at them

Now you have to ask yourself what is the intent of the heart of a govt. that wishes to disarm law-abiding citizens???

Just look to Nazi Germany and Communist Russia for the answer to that question.

i must have missed something? is someone looking to completely disarm all citizens? or just change registration laws or legislate what type of weapons? i'm not entirely sure of what exactly is going on
